Hero-of-Time Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Fired this up over the weekend and first impressions are that the game is pretty bad. I've only played a few hours and I'm already sick of the stealth missions. I've had one where I got sent back to the start if I got spotted, which I did. I thought they were going to patch this out? In another mission I got seen by some enemies and so I decided to try and fight my way out of the situation. Turns out the enemies just kept respawning. Felt like I was playing an old CoD game on Veteran where you would slowly inch forwards as a stream of enemies would constantly spawn on you. I've also had the game hard crash on me twice now, forcing me to restart the mission. Another thing that is annoying is trying to find my way through the cities. Maybe I'm just getting old and lazy but I hate trying to find my own way and would much prefer open world games to have marker/line to follow if you highlight where you want to go, just like one of the Fable games done all those years ago. Yeah, haven't enjoyed my time on it at all. Doesn't help that the MC sucks and the story isn't really that compelling either. 1
Hero-of-Time Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I continue to plug away at this. I'm finding I can't have long sessions on it as I tend to get bored with it and so I'm playing an hour here and there. When the hell did Gamorrean guards become impervious to laser fire? I was sneaking my way through an area and decided to just run and gun it but found these guys can withstand a stupid amount of blaster shots. The game really doesn't want you to enter in open combat, does it? 1
Julius Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) Switch 2 release date confirmed for September 4th per Star Wars Celebration. Story pack #2 - A Pirate's Fortune arrives May 15th: A Tatooine demo is releasing for the game (as Ubisoft continue to attempt to salvage this game's sales). "...and soon, you'll be able to freely shoot from your speeder" – big yikes this not being there at launch. Man... Edited April 18 by Julius
Dcubed Posted April 18 Posted April 18 (edited) Some footage of the Switch 2 version... Honestly, not bad at all. Much better than how it runs on Steam Deck in any case... Worth keeping in mind that we're talking about a game that has to run between 720p-1080p on PS5/Series X to hit 50-60 FPS (and 720p-1080p at 25-30 FPS on Series S). Certainly amongst the absolute heaviest multiplatform games currently available on PS5/Series X/PC, so this really is a worst-case-scenario as far as 3rd party ports to Switch 2 go.
