AshMat Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Ok, so people have bidded for this when the person has 0 rep at all...
Blackfox Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Why dont they just sell the whale's remains. Im sure there's lots of Japs out there who would love to eat a famous whale...
Bren Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 Ok, so people have bidded for this when the person has 0 rep at all... lol, its an official auction, newspapers are linking it aswell.
mario114 Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 I don't see why they didn't just shoot the whale stright away, rather then spend £100,000+ prodding the thing to death. It was and is just so stupid, theres so many people dying in this world and we waste money on a gaint fish.
Bren Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 dunno, i think these kind of events boost some pride into the public, helping a dangered animal is something a lot of us see as a good deed, yes helping dieing people is, but this is a bit more, bad to say it, but more intresting way, and the media can blow it out of proportion
AshMat Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 Ah, i read the thing in the mail about the auction. What a waste of money. How is it a symbol of hope whent he bloody thing died? Those "rescue" workers will have been the ones distressing the thing. can we not just leave it alone and get on with our lives?
