And to think you had all posted and had time to get a lynch before me and ReZ got on this morning :p

Good game, thanks for running it, DuD!

Damn. Good game all, after the Jimob lynch it made things harder for me, that's for sure. I was involved in a lot of anti-town shit this game which wasn't good!

maybe not my best round of playing, but definitely my greatest round of target selection :)

Me and ReZ actually did quite well to leave it to you lot to vote for each other - I don't believe either of us voted for a lynch until Jimbob!

And if you were wondering, we could kill and use our own power as well - Yvonne you did block a kill the night you blocked me, but I had used my own power as well.

We chose not to kill last night knowing it was risky with the target switching, so we left it knowing if we both voted before the three of you did, the win was ours.

ReZourceman

You are Test Subject #4 Rory Dorrans.

Entered into the program to steal information, you recruited your teammates over many years.

The experiments on you have enabled you to Switch your Targets Powers, i.e Target A uses Target B's Power and vice versa.

You can use your experimental power OR you can simply determine a target's Power.

Further more to inhibit mafia mafia voting, but reward them if they played smartly they had the following extras:

First Mafioso to vote each day has double vote.

Second Mafioso to vote each day appears town.

Third Mafioso to vote has a lynch bomb.

I allowed myself to be swayed too easily in this one. I wanted to vote for Esequiel over animal and I wasn't convinced of Jimbob but it did seem like the only possible outcome. I'd even defended him a couple of times in the game stating that he's the cop and obviously good. I'll put it down to being rusty :p

Thanks to Sméagol's ability I could communicate with everyone that was night killed. It didn't really help much but it was nice that those players weren't fully out of the game :p

Man, the town sucked in this game. Animal got lynched because he kept protecting himself, Yvonne also kept protecting himself and had some lousy choices for roleblocking targets, Cube utterly failed to prove his Dedede-innocence (I mean, what the fuck, man? That was the worst night possible to use a vigilante power), and I succumbed to peer pressure and voted for Animal, despite being convinced of his innocence (also, I didn't really ever find anything with my power).

Still, nice to play a mafia game again. I liked the vote-powers the mafia had, anything that will reward a player for posting is great, in my book :)

I was involved in a lot of anti-town shit this game which wasn't good!

After I died, I was utterly convinced you were mafia, and nothing before Jimbob's lynch convinced me otherwise. It was just so convenient that you managed to divert investigators away from the most suspicious targets every single night (even in the last one, you redirected Peeps from mr-paul!). And the night I died, the killer conveniently went for Yvonne, someone who, unlike me, wasn't cleared. Incredibly suspicious, in my view.

Plus, you took long to lynch Esequiel, were at the forefront of every townie(&Cube) lynch, and the one time you were defending someone, he looked guilty enough on paper, that it came off as someone defending a mafia partner.

Another fun fact - The night Cube killed Yvonne, we were going to kill Yvonne. Except ReZ thought we shouldn't kill that night because we'd been quiet and may be tracked, so he submitted some targets, I submitted different ones with a kill, but DuD had already accepted those from ReZ. We got the kill I wanted anyway thanks to Cube!

Well...woops. But not the Jimbob lynch! Unfortunately that was the make or break moment too. Just seemed pretty crazy to me that Jimbob would make that up, I guess it was pure 'gut feeling' like you had over Animal's innocence, ultimately a good thing.

Good riddance to Cube for choosing to make that kill tbh :p (would have been a town kill anyway based on some shaky logic), he was a neutral (looks like he could win with whoever?) and chose to kill rather than use 2 powers he had been given. EEVIL even held him to his post where he said he'd use 2 powers, claiming he didn't believe him. Then he didn't use it, like EEVIL said!

True that I pushed Animal's lynch, sorry about that Animal. But you know what, I enjoyed Animal's passion in the game which I had not seen before as he'd always been very quiet in games, so maybe there was something in this method! But like you say Jonnas, he was protecting himself the whole game, even when a cop and tracker had come out, and saying it was impossible that he was the taserer, and it seems like there was something going on with the tasering business. Was ReZ involved in this? I don't feel too guilty about this one tbh. :p

Also I did lynch esequiel; I kind of wanted to lynch one of Animal/esequiel and follow with the other if necessary so when I saw the Animal lynch wasn't happening I switched to esequiel.

Yeah, Jimbob was the exception. I encouraged Peeps into pursuing him, since, well, clear evidence was on the table (Also, I had been truly half-suspecting Jimbob, since Animal stopped him on a night with no kill).

I generally accept, however, that people can be fed lines when they're mafia. All it takes is a mafia partner to come up with a bold story, and anyone can become a bold liar.

Amen to that :heh:

Jimbob targeted Animal. Animal protected himself.

C'mon man, I figured it out on the day itself!

Yeah, but going for Animal first reeked of "Let's try and give Esequiel one more night alive". That it took you some time to be convinced (when you were spearheading most other lynches) was the suspicious part.

I dunno, based on past games I guess it felt pretty unusual that targeting someone who was protected would give the exact same message as if you were roleblocked by them, so much so I wasn't buying it. It did seem rather a coincidence with the Jimbob thing (since we knew Animal could roleblock, and that it was his doing that the cop was basically 'attacked'). Ultimately if the Mafia were going to want to RB they would want to RB the cop. What I asked about ReZ was because he could switch around people's powers so that could have explained it, but I guess it did happen as you said (unless someone else can chip in). I did find it an odd defence though when Animal was saying he couldn't possibly be tasering people because his role didn't say so...that certainly didn't help.

Really? Man if I was scum, I'd have bus'd him hard as he was pretty AFK for most the game. I also wouldn't have handled Animal like that since in pushing a town lynch so early on based on not too damning evidence I'd just be drawing oodles of unnecessary attention to myself.

These days I never tend to see Mafia being all that aggressive until towards the end. Always seems to be a softly softly approach and dropping suspicion, or backing up town lynches with logically sound arguments. Going in with guns blazing in the first couple of days doesn't really seem to be an approach I see often from them tbh.

Vote mods are cool!

@Jonnas, @Sheikah My logic wasn't shaky. I knew that Yvonne was someone that had to die for me to win (and it turned out that Jonnas also had to die).

Also, Dedede's power didn't boost or roleblock me.

@Jonnas well I stopped a kill and targeted two mafiosos with roleblocks. I'd say that was fairly good targeting :P

Ok, that makes much more sense. Did you have a list of people that needed to die for you to win? If not, how did you know that Yvonne wasn't a test subject?

You have a point... I guess the problem was that the town failed to capitalize on those things.

So, the town still sucked, as a whole :heh:

I didn't get list, but when I got Yvonne's PM, it mentioned that he used a keycard for his office. So I knew that he was staff.

Overall I think this was a well balanced and very enjoyable game anyway so well done to @DuD for reviving mafia with a great game :)

I really enjoyed this game. I don't think I've ever been so passionate about a game since Gentleman's Mafia. @Sheikah, you bloody bastard! I wanted to liiiive! haha. You went with your gut and even though it was wrong, you stuck by your guns so I can't fault you on that.

My techniques change in every mafia game. Some games, I read and absorb information and in others, I'm more active. In this one, I wanted to be both but Sheikah was like a rottweiler on some steak, lmao. I know that you say that people were outed but I never believe shit on the first or second day. I don't think I ever will do. If I were to place my faith in someone and they turned out to be mafia, I'd look dodgy as fuck, which was why I was going to take a little bit of a backseat until I got information on my roleblocks and catch out a liar.

I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you meddling kids! :p

Seriously though @DuD, great game!
