Beast Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Woo! Another series of This Is England. Love it! Anybody going to watch it? I forgot the release date because I was a bit excited but I think it was in two weeks' time!
Wesley Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) Oh fuck Dazz, you just made my night! Edited January 8, 2012 by Wesley
Emma Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Three 1 hour long episodes, really looking forward to it. I read that it ties up everything from 86' so they can start a full series for the 90s rave era.
Beast Posted December 1, 2011 Author Posted December 1, 2011 Oh fuck Dazz, you just made me night! I just saw a little 20 second clip of it on the adverts inbetween Living With The Amish and I just had a massive grin on my face. I'm looking forward to this!!! It just looks fucking awesome already!
dwarf Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Hell yes. The art direction is what elevates this from being a good show into a great show. That Joseph Gilgun dude is superb, he's hilarious in this and in Misfits. Plays similar characters in both but that's not a bad thing at all.
Dog-amoto Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Loved the film, but not seen '86 so I'll have to get hold of that somehow.
dan-likes-trees Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Anyone seen this? How good is it? It's good alright. Possibly the best thing I watched last year, which is pretty amazing seeing as the interviews suggest it was only really made as a series to bridge the gap to the 90's ones that will presumably be on next year. These two Put in phenomenal performances. The lass who plays lol is devastating. Anyway, hyperbole but it's well worth watching.
Oxigen_Waste Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Yeah, I actually saw it today. Pretty damn good, indeed. Just a shame that Shane's focusing so much on the drama... there are great laughs to be had with this bunch. But the drama was handled very well! Also, apparently Meggy died from a heart attack in the crapper, lol...
MoogleViper Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 One thing I never understood was that in This is England, Banjo was the hard, racist nutjob, yet come 1986 he's changed into one of the gang, and a bit of a pussycat. Also, apparently Meggy died from a heart attack in the crapper, lol... That was in This is England '86.

That was in This is England '86. No, he survived that one, remember? He had a new one and died in between the end of 86 and the beginning of 88. Mostly because he was a completely irrelevant character, it seems. And also, about Banjo, yeah, he's completely dislocated, he doesn't fit in with the rest of the characters...
