Ashley Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Yeah yeah a small minority use Opera and I should probably switch to Chrome as I'm a google man buuuut I'm stuck in my ways and I'm not actually fond of Chrome. But that's not the issue. The issue is that I've noticed recently Opera switches me to mobile sites for some reason. When I visit here normally its fine, but if someone gives me a link to something it goes to the mobile version. Same with some other sites from what I recall. Tried emptying cache, history, cookies etc as I saw recommended. I have googled but Opera also have a product called Opera Mobile so its mostly that being returned.
Nolan Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I also use Opera, but I can't say I ever recall having this issue. Hmmm searching on Opera, someone said some sites recognize that it's Opera and go straight to mobile regardless of it not being the mobile browser. Otherwise....submit a bug report I guess.
Ashley Posted June 18, 2011 Author Posted June 18, 2011 But its only been happening recently, last week or two. I know nothing has changed on this site to cause any differences.
Ten10 Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Is there anyway to modify your user agent string? Many website poll this to decide whether to go to mobile site or not. It could be lazy coding that they have just said if IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome go to full site, anything else go mobile. See if this tutorial helps: http://download.chip.eu/en/how_to/How-to-Change-User-Agent-in-Opera_12220327.html
Sméagol Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 I couldn't find anything in the settings hat could be related, but perhaps you could try restoring the default settings (by reinstalling if necessary)?
