Deal or No Deal

Anyone here watch this?

It's what we tend to watch at dinner time every week day (the Channel 4+1 showing). Yesterday saw only the 3rd winner of the 250,00 jackpot and what a great game it was.

When she got down to the last 5 boxes with 5 - 35,000 - 50,000 - 100,000 - 250,000 and offered 30,000 most players would give up there as they'd be afriad they'd actually have the Fiver in the box.

So often you see people get scared take a deal and you'd be screaming at the TV and they would have ended up with more in the box. But this one played it like someone sitting at home and not in the studio, haha.

My Sister and I were texting back and forth with every box opened and deal offered, haha.

Luck of the Irish indeed, haha, well done to her, we were watching gobsmacked. So calm and collected, and to have taken the swap so quickly without hesitation, at that point I thought she might have given it away, but damn, you'll never see a game like that again.

That woman was extremely lucky, good for her! I stopped watching this after a while because I found it boring to watch. It was a good show for a bit though but it's just like the lottery, pure luck. I do love how some contestants pick their boxes sometimes, it makes me laugh.

"I have a feeling that £250,000 will be in Box 8 because my birthday is on the eighth so I'll pick Box 11, because that man looks lucky and I had a nice dinner on the eleventh of May!". Normally, I scream at the television to just pick any box because nobody knows what's behind them anyway.

I switched over to ITV for Divided or Goldenballs, the latter being awesome. When is Goldenballs coming back?

Yeah the way some people play the game is silly. Don't know which is luckier though... picking the 250,000 at the start or keeping it in the game.

Guess what helped her game go so well is she had the 100,000 in her box anyway. She was destined for a 6 figure sum if she went all the way. Had she pulled out the 250,000 early in the game (or not had the 100,000 and likely pulled that out) I reckon she may have dealt at a lower amount and lost the 100,000. As she said after the show she would have been happy with 5,000.

But that moment when she swapped. And she knew she would swap even before she rejected the 165,000 offer. She was like... "If I turn this down I'll get the swap won't I?.... I;m ready for both questions Noel"

Bloody ballsy lady indeed.

I will say this, she had guts to do something like that. It's good to see someone win the full amount.

I hate The Banker though (or Noel Edmonds pretending he's on the phone to him). It's so scripted and funny.

"A-HA, she's got you now, Banker. What do you have to say for yourself now"

*silence*

"I bet you're shaking in your boots! So come out with it then, how much?"

*silence*

"Oh...that much...hmmmm..."

*puts the phone down*

I think, if I went on Deal or No Deal, it'd be the shortest game in history. I'd just be like "That one, that one, that one, that one..." all of the time, haha. My strategy is have no bloody strategy because the game's pure luck anyway, lol.

OMG that is just harsh, haha. I check the vids description, it says he ended up winning just a tenner in the end, poor guy.

Ya haha . At least there used to be on TV3 or whatever that channel is called now.

It's still TV3... or are you thinking of their secondary channel "e3"?

I actually have a vague memory of it now, don't think they still do it though... unless it's on a seasons break or something. We tend to watch the CHannel4 one as it is conveintly on at dinner time as mentioned before.

Just thinking how the show is in so many different countries and each place puts there own twist on things, and in some the people opening boxes are not hopefull prepective contestants. Like in the Philippines they have sexy lady dancers :heh: (they actually tend to have such dancers in EVERY game show they do :heh:)

D:

Franklin, I thought you were cool.

WHats not cool about watching someone agonise for 60 mins over the contents of a box that they cannot change no matter how they "play the game" :heh:

I actually love it when people deal and then it turns out they had much more in the box
