ReZourceman
Ring up Orange and ask to speak to a manager until that happens.
nightwolf
Ring up Orange and ask to speak to a manager until that happens. Exactly, ring a manager, get it sorted, they charged you for disconnecting your phone from the sounds of it.
Ashley
If you can't get through because your number is not active ring the new sales department and ask to be transferred. If you agreed to place it on hold for a period they should honour that.

I've never had issues, but they can be right bastards.
McPhee
Had a similar issue with T-Mobile, except there were outstanding charges that caused them to put a black mark on my credit rating. CS wouldn't speak to me as I didn't have an active T-Mobile phone number, and as such I couldn't settle the balance. Managed to get an email address for someone quite high up the company by asking around mobile phone related sites (think it was the CS director or some such) and he got it sorted pretty quicj, waving all charges as an apology. I'd try MSE and What Mobile forums for a start.
ohyoume
These companies are not good at all. You just go-to their stores and its unbelivable how how they push you into buying something.
