Daft Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 So we are kind of stuck between Iraq and a hard place with the old thread so I thought I try this out. Basically, new threads for new films are great. Love love love. However, starting a new thread for the seventeenth viewing of Predator is just a bit dumb so, rate the last film you saw that is quite obviously not worthey of it's own thread/isn't brand new in the slightest. This a good idea? A kind of "watch once because it's kind of interesting but really not and royaly predictable". The usual big twist at the end which only leave the cast surprised. Ed Norton plays Ed Norton playing an illusionist. It's like a poor man's The Prestige. Ed Norton/10
Happenstance Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Guess we'll see how long this thread is allowed to stay open but I totally agree with its need.
LostOverThere Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Saw it the other day for the god-knows-how-many time. I've lost track how many times I've seen it. It never ceases to blow me away. 10/10. No film is perfect, but Citizen Kane is the closest we'll ever have.
Ashley Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 I'll leave the fate of this thread in the hands of Dan/Jay/Odwin as it seems to be their pet project but you could quite easily have a thread about Citizen Kane.
Mr_Odwin Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 (edited) you could quite easily have a thread about Citizen Kane. Exactly. This thread is a thread/creativity eater; the sort we're staying away from right now. The gremlins thread has interest, others would too. If just 5 people post in a thread about the illusionist it's probably more discussion about it than you would get in here. Add all the other arguments from the lock thread ...
