Haver Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Ricky Gervais is returning to radio with a new weekly show being podcast by the Guardian Unlimited website. Gervais and his writing partner, Stephen Merchant, will be reunited with their sidekick, Karl "the K Man" Pilkington, who produced their Saturday afternoon show on Xfm. But they have decided not to go back to the GCap-owned London station, and will instead make the programme available for download over the internet. http://media.guardian.co.uk/site/story/0,14173,1652720,00.html Here's the brilliant XFM shows available for download: http://www.xfm.co.uk/article.asp?id=3673 and http://www.xfm.co.uk/sectional.asp?id=4159

soag Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Am I the only one that think Ricky Gervais is a bloody **** who couldnt be funny if his life depended on it?
Bluejay Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I just may well give this a listen. Gervais humours me slightly.
Bowser57 Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Am I the only one that think Ricky Gervais is a bloody **** who couldnt be funny if his life depended on it? Yep, on a planet of 6 billion it's just you! ... No, it's not just you, that'd be silly.
Haver Posted November 28, 2005 Author Posted November 28, 2005 Will there be Monkey News though? We can only hope.

dukkadukka Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 haver, do you use podcasts often? can you recommend any good free ones? so far the only one i've found that i like is happy tree friends, but that's a video anyway, so not really radio podcast.

Do a search for "Woosel" on iTunes.[/plug] Out of plug mode now, the only podcast I listen to is the Chris Moyles one, any recommendation of any other good ones is appreciated.

"you've fucked up for the second time guy" "what a shitty podcast, they're all turning off now" loves it! i have to say i was expecting this to be bollocks but it's not p.s) guy, stop letting him bully you! edit - i just realised who you remind me of, it's adam & joe
The3rdChildren Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Four and three letters in our names too, UNCANNY. Like that Xmen comic. I'd stop him bullying me if it wasn't so damned funny.
Space Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 Will have to check this out. Am I the only one that think Ricky Gervais is a bloody **** who couldnt be funny if his life depended on it? I thought the Office was rubbish, but he is quite funny. Extras had its moments and his stand-up stuff is good.

Cubechris Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 hehe, i'm coming to the end of the first episode now and i love it. "and cubechris is gaaay!" Oh dont worry I can handle it.
Meik Posted November 28, 2005 Posted November 28, 2005 I hate the first episode, it makes me cringe listening to myself on it. 2, 3 and 4 are loads better in my opinion.

You've certainly improved. I'm just finishing up four now and some of that has had me laughing quite a bit. The Mario Kart music was a nice touch too. Edit: But Guy goes a bit mental at the end.
Haver Posted November 29, 2005 Author Posted November 29, 2005 To tell you the truth dukkadukka, most podcasts are pretty specialist, so it's difficult to find general/chit-chat shows. I mean, I've listened to Xbox podcasts and comic webcasts but there's certainly, certainly room for someone to emerge with a genuinely funny chat show. So that's Woosel out of the equation LOL Only jostling. The word association bit is quite good.
Dieter Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I hate the first episode, it makes me cringe listening to myself on it. 2, 3 and 4 are loads better in my opinion. I can't bear to listen to my own crap, ALL of them make me cringe, even the ones I think are better
