Dante Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 The Wii is a toy. Oh yes, I went there. Toy ie an object that adults use for entertainment rather than for a serious purpose
dwarf Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 How long would you say it takes to complete the game? Well without cutscenes I think I spent 10 hours actually playing the thing, though that was kind of stretched cause I enjoyed pissing around and backtracking to find stuff. I just loved finding new items to get the little 'click' and the message telling you what new item/weapon you had found. I didn't end up using that many of the items though.
Daft Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 First time I went through the game it took me about 7 or 8 hours, without cutscenes. Next run through I blitzed it in under 5. And that isn't especially fast. Toy ie an object that adults use for entertainment rather than for a serious purpose As in 'something for a child to play with' or 'something (as a preoccupation) that is paltry or trifling'. As opposed to entertainment, meaning 'something diverting or engaging'. Toys are, of course, light entertainment. Hardly engaging.
dwarf Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Yeah I managed my 2nd playthrough without killing anyone or being spotted (smug) in 8 hours also Was on liquid easy though, tried it on Big Boss and was dumbfounded at difficulty.
Daft Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Yeah, I did the no kills run through. I'm about a subtle as Godzilla with ADHD though, so a stealth run was/is out of the question.
Choze Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 There updates to MGS4 if you load the game and check extras. Both the 360 and PS3 are excellent consoles with their own strengths and weaknesses. If only they could combine, Megazord-style, into the ultimate unified platform then maybe more people would see that it's the games that are important, not the machine they run on. What are you talking about 360 console itself is terrible. RROD anyone? Crap fan? points for prices etc.? Too many issues. But you get what you pay for. MS should just rent the PS3 hardware and use that for xbox branding. Then maybe i will be interested. Right now its good we have choice between quality and junk. Nintendo and Ms technically already have all the old PS franchises which were multiplatform anyway. However these so called PS franchises change each gen. The concept is rather flawed. Some games that were huge e.g FF7-9 are now less thanhalf the selling power e.g FFXII sales wise. Now there are new franchises. Some of which cant be taken. Killzone 2 and Little Big Planet namely.
Caris Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Oh shut up Choze the PS3 has it's fair share of flaws too.
Dante Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 (edited) Choze has never change since the cube-europes day! Sometimes he reminds me of iloveps2xboxcubegb Edited May 10, 2009 by Dante
Choze Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 Atop crying fanboys. Alot of xbox fanboys even agree with me. GO into the xbox thread and see all the hardware and problem posts. I speak the truth.
Caris Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Well the whole internet agrees with me and we know that the PS3 gets terrible ports, games run in sub HD a lot of the time, they have freezing issues, they have no AA most of the time, they have framerate problems etc. Hell even Sony agrees.
dwarf Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 The main point Aimless said was this anyway ....with their own strengths and weaknesses. If only they could combine So he was just saying it we could have the best of both worlds in 1 machine. However, I think quality would go down if these 2 weren't competing. If there was another Wii-like machine Nintendo would have had to have tried harder with the online modes/graphics etc.
That Guy Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Atop crying fanboys. Alot of xbox fanboys even agree with me. GO into the xbox thread and see all the hardware and problem posts. I speak the truth. Speaking as someone who owns all 3 consoles, and enjoys all 3, I will say I couldn't live without my Xbox. I have more Xbox games than any other console, I play online FAR more than the others, and generally spent more time with.

Well the 360 messes up on those aspects in exclusive games. At least multiplatform releases arent as bad as Halo 3 In exclusives the PS3 more than just walks away. But thats besides point. The console itself is where MS badly messed up. I would prefer if it was not as fragile as a badly designed toy. They should contract someone like HTC next time.

Choze Posted May 10, 2009 Author Posted May 10, 2009 Have you played Halo 3? Yes. Its not quite the technical showcase lol.
Diageo Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Will you shut up already, we get it. You don't like the 360, you love the PS3 and all that is Sony and you think everything else is crap. Can we just get back on topic or something?
Caris Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Yes. Its not quite the technical showcase lol. I would rather have 1 exclusive be poor graphically than the majority of 3rd party games any day.
