Tellyn
I don't know exactly why everyone loves Reggie so much? He's just an oaf, he wanders on stage making [crap] announcements and when he's not doing that he gives reasons for decent games like Fatal Frame and Disaster not to be released. Wooo, what a legend. It is said that Reginald can crush whole watermelons with his eyelids. You know what would be a gigaton? Nintendo announcing a flipping game for Wiiware. Seriously. Four Swords, a 2d metroid/Castlevania, MARIO F*CKING BROTHERS (i disagree with reggie's opinon on a mario on Wiiware, because he clearly missed SMB1,3 and world and how great they were), or even a 2d DKC game. Ahhh come on nintendo give me something. This I would love. I'm hopeful given that a fairly niche title, Rock 'N' Roll Climber, was announced at the GDC, so maybe they have something actually developed within Nintendo to show. One of the smaller complaints last year that was probably overlooked by everyone due to all the incessant moaning about Cammie, puppies and the lack of a new Zelda, was that Nintendo ignored WiiWare. It didn't get one single mention in their conference at all, and it was only brought up when MTV Multiplayer confronted Reggie about it. Some new DSiWare games, and official confirmation of the DSi Virtual Console would be nice. (On a side note, how great would it be if certain games, such as NES games, could be carried across to your DSi Shop account and played on the move?) Emasher
(On a side note, how great would it be if certain games, such as NES games, could be carried across to your DSi Shop account and played on the move?) I've been hoping for that for a while. I think the reason that they haven't released anything big for Wii Ware though is that they wanted to make sure it would be successful enough before putting something really big on it. It takes time to make games like that. And now that they've had time, perhaps we'll see something this year.
Patch
I can't believe this thread has taken til now for DKC to crop up. Exactly what I was thinking. Where have you been all this time?
STOOPIDDITTIES
Is it just me or does considering pikmin 3 even count as a 'key' title for Nintendo? I don't actually know anyone who's played 2 cos they never got passed the first one. I just wouldn't think Nintendo would bother making a sequel that would likely sell very little because the new fanbase would be put off having not played the others. Well that's the impression I get with what's happened with the whole Fatal Frame affair. F-Zero would be sexy though. Or Virtual Boy 2...
Emasher
Perhaps thats one reason they released New Play Control Pikmin. Although, they could easily give it a subtitle rather than a number, and I doubt anyone would really care that much. Except perhaps the AVGN. STOOPIDDITTIES
Perhaps thats one reason they released New Play Control Pikmin. I know but I don't think that made the general public flinch at all to be honest. I just think compared to things like a Wii Fit sequel or Sports sequel a Pikmin 3 announcement would be nothing but miniscule for Nintendo. I'm not saying it won't happen, just I don't see any support being given to it if it does.
darkjak
If Nintendo mess up this E3, they should change their slogan to "Wii would like to dissapoint". But this could be anything. Kid Icarus, Pilotwings, Mario, Zelda, Starfox...

Strange Cookie
On a side note, how great would it be if certain games, such as NES games, could be carried across to your DSi Shop account and played on the move? That would be great indeed! But so un-Nintendo. They'd rather have you pay again for those games. I really hope this one lives up to the hype. A new Mario, Zelda, Starfox, Waverace, F-Zero, Luigi's Mansion 2, or a brand new original and fun IP! My more cynical side tells me it'll be WiiFit+, Wii-Music Encore or some other piece of shovelware printed on a disc. My cynical side is usually right these days... When Reggie made his first public appearance at E3 2004, he represented the new attitude of Nintendo: ass-kicking, name-taking, game-making Gods. Fear us. Worship us. Nintendo was reborn, Reggie the personification af said change. He was the Hope for Gamers. Emasher
I wouldn't call Nintendo's Casual games shovel-ware. They're some of the best casual games around. Shovel-ware means a bad game rushed and released just to make a quick profit. Casual game means something Non-gamers are able to understand and play. Casual Game != Shovel-ware. But once again, Nintendo had ONE bad E3. Every other E3 they've had has been good since 2003 (Pac Man). I can understand if this one turns out bad also, but you can't judge them by one bad E3. They've said this one will be better, perhaps we should reserve judgement until then.
mcj metroid
oh sigh strange cookie.. Wii resort will be good.. they're not going to fuck that up.. Helmsly
oh man the pacman one.. that brings back memories... always made me laugh that even though connectivity was a fucking failure.. nintendo fans wanted to see it on wii and ds.....sigh I don't think connectivity was a bad idea in itself, it didnt take off because you needed to have that cable to do it and it wasnt supported very well other then a few games. Also, at that E3, that seemed to be what Nintendo where most proud to show off, which looked kind of stupid compared to Sony and Microsoft showing off online games. However, downloading DS demo's off the Wii is actually awesome and I think some interesting things could be done with Wii/DS connectivity

Strange Cookie
Granted, upon reading again, my post was very, very cynical, and terribly over the top. I just had to ventilate what was on my mind, especially in the edvant of another alledged Mega-/Gigaton. The truth is ofcourse less black & white as I make it seem. Nintendo has made some great games since then, and not every casual game is shovelware. It's just that I get the feeling they don't really care anymore. WiiSport resort is going to be fun, but it's more of a tech-demo than a real game. But I still like Nintendo. Otherwise I wouldn't be on this forum. You know that love and hate very close together. Sorry about the pics! I'm not really PC-minded, so how do you actually resize pictures? Thanks!
