I need to talk about it to someone, and i just realised i've no idea what it's called. It's a type of cursor, sometimes referred to as a caret although that's something of an anachronism. I'm sure "flashing text cursor" will get the idea across.
Retro_Link Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Accoring to a quick google, I think it's called a 'caret', usually refered to as a 'blinking text caret'. You learn something every day!
Kirkatronics Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Cursors, i cant remember the name. I always refered to it as the text cursor. EDIT: Caret is correct.
RoadKill Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I thought a caret was ^ And the | line after your text, was simply the text cursor
Shorty Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I thought a caret was ^ And the | line after your text, was simply the text cursor this might explain a little... The text cursor may be referred to as a caret in some cases[1][2]. This term came about from older unix systems that used the caret symbol as a text insertion indicator[citation needed].
