dwarf Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Here is the place to discuss your most recent game sessions, what you've been enjoying, what has been a chore to play and any stuff like that. Sometimes after playing something you want to share some cool experiences so this is why I made the thread. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for me I've been playing the Orange box (out for all systems I believe) and in particular Half Life 2 Episode 2. I think the HL series is incredible, I've played through a lot of the 1st episode, and have completed the 2nd episode, and even though I still know little about the story the game is unbelievably good. It's been out for a long time but it doesn't matter in the slightest that it is dated a bit, because the puzzles and situations are all so engaging, you really have to play it to experience it. (The ending was intense as well - I had a browse through the commentary and it is very enlightening, even about the little tools and things they put in the game to make it work.) By stark contrast, I recently played a game called Hail to the Chimp, a PS3 demo and it was god-awful. Why anyone would buy that unless it were some sort of sick joke as a birthday present I don't know. It's basically just one REALLY crap minigame where you're these little freakish characters trying to collect clams. I've seen better graphics from the first PS.
tapedeck Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 FIFA 09 on the PS3 is getting a lot of love at the moment. Albeit in short bursts. It seems if I play this for too long it gets a bit tiresome. Loving Be a Pro. Multiplayer is a different story of course - it lasts forever! Great game and a return to form for FIFA. Various DS games - Scrabble DS, FIFA 09, Boggle and Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle. EDIT: Also playing PES 09 on the PC...Which...*sob*...is *sob*...not much cop.
dwarf Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 'Playstation/Xbox/PC Game Sessions' Various DS games Hehe I guess it may as well be everything.
Domstercool Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Saints Row 2 I can't really tell you how much fun this game is. I actually prefer some of the stuff in this game than to GTA4. I think the reason why it's a lot of fun is because it never takes itself serious at all. There's so many quirky things to do and when you play co-op, it just spices up with laughter over the microphones when you do something crazy. The character customization is fantastic too. I'm got a guy who has a insane looking smile for his standard face, comical I tell you!
Hellfire Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 So, just non Nintendo stuff? OK Oblivion - PC Dunno why, felt like picking it up again, even brought all NWN games and expansions to install eventually. Played an hour or so yesterday and it's a cool game, but it loses most of its charm and awesomeness after a few hours. Ugly characters, everything looks the same, uninspired locations, bland side-quests, etc... It's still a good game, specially on the PC with all the mods and whatnot. GRAW 360 Played it last week, but whatever. It's the kind of game I'm not always in the mood for and the stick for aiming is annoying, but so far it's a pretty good game, although nothing mind blowing (havent' played multiplayer). The controls and movement is pretty cumbersome and the ally AI makes me wanna stab someone in the mouth.
flameboy Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Bioshock Been all about this awesome game the last few days, simply put I love it and cannot wait to get home to play it some more!
nekunando Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I am currently playing: For some reason I just fancied starting up a file in it at the weekend..
dwarf Posted October 21, 2008 Author Posted October 21, 2008 Lol I just had an online game of Wipeout and most of the people that play are pretty crap, so when I get a weapon I wait til they pass and then muller them. Well I was doing this to one guy and it was the final lap and he was in front and I took him out from long range with machine gun on the final corner. I thought I'd given it away too!
dwarf Posted October 25, 2008 Author Posted October 25, 2008 I won a few rounds of Resistance 2 online today, did pretty well. I guess most of them were noobs because I don't usually fare too well. Either that or it's practice. Or both?...
Deathjam Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 PC - Cabal Been playing this for as long as I can everyday. Most fun MMO i have ever played, and it's much deeper than it originally appears to be. Main draw for me is the skills as they look fantastic. Not you generic little flurry or special glow like in most mmo, which leads the melee classes to be the most boring, no sir. Moves in this game have full blown dramatic jumps and dashes with effects akin to a matrix movie (exaggeration). Anyways I love it, and its stopping me from playing Bioshock and Crysis but not PS3 - Fifa 09 Fun fun game. Be a pro mode is addictive. Still on my first season as well and I love the way that my player has come a long way from what he was at the beginning.
nekunando Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 I started playing this at the weekend and it seems pretty short.. only a couple of levels left Obviously it has nothing on Goldeneye and I can see many of it's shortcomings.. but I'm still enjoying it, probably because my friend had it back in the day and I always kinda wanted to give it a go..
dwarf Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 Just had about 4 games on San Francisco and kept coming 2nd, twice by 1 point. Grrrr. Still fun though.
nekunando Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 One of my favorite rally games ever I love it!
