Guest Maase
Go to bed mate 14 year olds really have very little concept about current affairs. Seriously - go to bed! You know that the best way to make a 14 years old get a good concept about current affairs is to talk with him about that stuff, don't you? Im a teenager and im curious about this war, i just wanna talk about its entertaining... Edit: Blender, was that a joke? LOL, at least it seems like one... Tales
Do Georgians (Georgians :X) really think they have a chance AGAINST RUSSIA? My god, they are dumb or what? This is going to get so bad... so... so... bad... Yeah, I read earlier that Georgia has 128 tanks and 8 fighters while Russia has 26 000 tanks and 1 800 fighters >_>

McPhee
Just to point out that that was how WWI got started, not WWII, as that started with the invasion of Poland by the Germans. Cheers Getting muddled, a combination of a long day (been awake for over 20 hours) and the 7 years since i did history at school :p It's all coming back now! Guest Maase
Look at Wikipedia facts and see the joke this is: Georgia is trying something, for certain, i don't know what, but they surely don't think they can actually defeat Russia, right? Dyson
No, Maase, but like somebody else said, they have connections that give them a bigger army, and indeed support, than those base numbers. C'mon, we'll have an intelligent conversation with you if you start absorbing the facts and learning instead of repeating the same things over and over again. Guest Stefkov
Yup a good tactic is to cripple people thats why the SA80 replaced the SLR. If you shot someone with an SLR which had 7.2mm rounds you'd kill them more often than not (very powerful). An SA80 on the other hand has 5.62mm rounds and will more than likely injure the enemy. If you injure someone then another two people have to deal with them thus reducing people fighting you. It's nice to know they took those measures. If I was offered though, I'd definitely have a go of the 50 caliber sniper. Holy hell that's an awesome weapon. And Maase. How're you meant to have an adult conversation when you're posting stupid pictures the saying 'OMFGWWIIISGUNNAHAPPENZLOLOL' like a little child? Maybe. They don't have a huge amount of choice though, if they don't fight they'll loose a large part of their country. They are fighting in the hope that either there'll be a diplomatic solution which reads in their favour or that their allies will step in. One of the 2 will happen, maybe both. Georgia is trying something, for certain, i don't know what, but they surely don't think they can actually defeat Russia, right? No, they don't. They're hoping for some assistance in that matter, much like the Ossetians got from Russia. Look at your numbers, without Russian help there is no way that South Ossetia would have won. Paj!
It's selfish beyond belief. So? It's my life, I'd prefer to die doing something meaningful. (Me being in the armed forces wouldn't be meaningful, I'd hide behind a rock with my eyes closed, until everyone's dead, or I get killed by the opposition when they find me) COWARD. Please, get over yourself. And someone (Gizmo?) mentioned that it's like paying taxes...urm...It's not. My life does in no way equal paying taxes. In the end, one ends up homeless due to intense money troubles, not dead. And I know that there are provisions for the homeless (especially in Edinburgh), but not for the dead/dying. To me, my life is more important than most other peoples in the world.*shrugs* I'm not gonna waste it doing shit all on a battlefield in the backend of nowhere. Falcon_BlizZACK
The war monger in me (ie the beast) wants to see this mayhem and destruction... and I know thats wrong. Most of us come from Generation: Kill - whereby we have been exposed to 'visual trauma' - from games to internet porn - from a very young age, so i'm thinking deep down we may be a bit more 'gung ho' than the previous. Young Maase here could pretty much be the perfect warrior by the time his 18.

From games (Call of Duty 4 combat/story, Medal of Honor etc) to movies and TV (24) that present only key moments of a negotiation etc. It's not a bright future if that's what we're brought up on, but it's the way we're exposed to things.. XD What I mean by that is you and your friends are more 'hardened' and fucked up than 14 year olds of 100 years ago. Rather than shitting your TMNT boxers, you'd probably pop a lil boner from holding a full loaded AK (or 'plasma rifle' ;p)/ 'Master sword' with the intent to kill/ 'slay the foul beasts'. Probably. Guest Maase
D'oh, me and my broken english X_X Sorry, Cookyman, bad choice of words then, let me reorganize my speech.. Im curious about what's going to happen next but very scary, you know, like when you see a horror movie? Did you get what i meant now by "Excited"? Edit: Not really, King_V, just because we play War Games, it doesn't make any difference at all, i think that i will never in my life be able to pull the trigger to kill anyone, or even injure... A game is a game, i play a game to have fun, i don't go to war to have fun, and i don't want to go to war, so that's wrong, King_V (at least for me, if there's a stupid asshole out there thinking that killing Russians is fun, then he can do it, stupid asshole)
