Emasher Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I managed to buy the last copy of this from a video rental shop/game shop today (Full band kit). I probably haven't played enough of it to really have a proper opinion of it, but from what I've played so far I'm loving it. The one annoying thing is how hard it is to get the remotes into the drums/guitar. Though, besides that, the new guitar is an improvement over the GHIII one.
Mokong Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 My god, I'm getting annoyed with the DLC service, the Travis Track Pack should have been out on Thrusday, is it? Well yes and no. It is out on the Wii, 360, PS3 in the US, it is out on the 360 and PS3 in Europe... but NOT the Wii in Europe? WTF? Someone please explain to me how and why this is? Is this Activision hating on us or (more likely) somehow NoE have something to do with it and are being their usual shitty selves. The Australian Track pack is coming next Thursday and I been looking forward to get the Sliverchair song, whats the chances we won't get screwed this time? All the December track packs came out on time as announced so whats the difference now?
Roostophe Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 My beef with that track pack is that I only really want "What's My Age Again?", I don't care much for the others, but I cannae get 'em separately!
Mokong Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 What console are you playing on? I thought all songs in "Track Packs" are also available for download as single songs on all systems? It says so here http://community.guitarhero.com/news_posts/110 (go to the bottom of the page)
Roostophe Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 I've got it for the 360, and it's only on some of the track packs can you get the songs solus. Like the Oasis one, I believe. The DLC with Guitar Hero has been pretty rubbish, especially when you compare it to Rock Band's "You can get whatever song you want." and weekly updates that almost always has a couple of good songs available.* (But no J-Rock yet. ) Really annoys me. I only want to get "The Day That Never Comes" from the Metallica pack. Not the whole album. *Obviously, 360 and PS3 owners only.
Cookyman Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 From guitarhero.com Hey all you Bruce Springsteen fans out there! The Boss will be making his Guitar Hero® World Tour debut on January 27th, 2009 with his very own Track Pack! The Bruce Springsteen Track Pack will feature the brand-new song "My Lucky Day" off his new album, Working on a Dream, as well as the classic track "Born to Run." And what could make this news even better? The Bruce Springsteen Track Pack will be FREE to download onto your PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii from January 27, 2009 - February 4, 2009! Sweet Deal! On February 5, 2009, The Bruce Springsteen Track Pack will be available on the Xbox 360 for 320 MS points, on the PS3 for $3.99 and as singles on the Wii for 200 points each.
Mokong Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Ha, yeah assuming we even get it here in Europe... I'm still waiting on the Travis Track Pack... in the US on all 3 systems, but only 360 and PS3 in Europe? WTF? Fingers crossed the Australian Pack comes tomorrow as i've been wanting to get the Sliverchair song... it's like i'm ready to throw money at Activision but they're too lazy to catch it
Emasher Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Question: Do songs downloaded of GHTunes go onto an SD card automatically if one is plugged in, or do you have to tell it to put them there.
Mokong Posted January 21, 2009 Posted January 21, 2009 Question: Do songs downloaded of GHTunes go onto an SD card automatically if one is plugged in, or do you have to tell it to put them there. As strange as this sounds I think they are saved on the GHWT's actual game save file... ie: not on the SD or in a seperate file on your Wii.... i think maybe they don't take up much space since they are not "full" songs... there could be a limited number that you can make/download but i'm not certain of that. All I know is when you download a GHTune song you don't get the option to move to SD like with DLC songs, plus the number of blocks on both my Wii memory and SD card are not reduced after downloading them?
Emasher Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Ok, thanks. I just assumed they would be the same as DLC songs.
Mokong Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 And the Aussie Track Pack is out today. It's available on the Wii in the US, but once again like the last 2 weeks not on the Wii in Europe (on 360 and PS3 in US and Europe). What the Frack is up with this? Why is only the Wii in Europe getting shaffted? This has to have something to do with NoE being tools.
tapedeck Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Truth matey. the DLC has been dire for GH:WT imo. Got some Killers and some Eagles, Oasis but past that stuff looks dire to me. Where are the LEGENDARY songs?
Mokong Posted January 22, 2009 Posted January 22, 2009 Well at the moment it's not the content that's pissing me off.... it's that we aren't getting anything and nobody is explaining about it? Are European Wii owners ever gonna see a new DLC????
-gonzo- Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Well at the moment it's not the content that's pissing me off.... it's that we aren't getting anything and nobody is explaining about it? Are European Wii owners ever gonna see a new DLC???? Heres your answer. European Wii Track Pack Info! Neversoft - 01/23/09 To all you European Wii downloadable content buyers!!! All I can officially say is, yes, the Track Packs ARE coming. The Track Packs (Country, Travis Barker and Aussie Band) that haven't made it to your music store yet will be available soon -- and more than likely in one large chunk! We are also working hard to make sure EVERYONE has access to the free Springsteen tracks next week. So please don't panic! You WILL get your updates and free content! Thanks, Neversoft
Emasher Posted January 23, 2009 Posted January 23, 2009 Most likely the people who have the distribution rights to the music are different in different territories.
Mokong Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 At last some recognition of the problem, least we know we are not being neglected now I wonder if the email I sent yesterday had anything to do with this sudden news posting Most likely the people who have the distribution rights to the music are different in different territories. But if that was the case then the Track Packs would also not be available on the 360 and PS3 in Europe, but they are.
Emasher Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Its possible there's some conflict with the Nintendo Pay and play and the distributers that doesn't exist with XBL and PSN.
Mokong Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Finally the January DLC is now available to us lowly European Wii players, plus the Springsteen songs which are free till Feb 4th. http://www.n-europe.com/news.php?nid=12816 I downloaded the 2 Springsteen ones, just cuz their free, "Born to Run" is pretty good, but I had an awesome time with Tomorrow by Sliverchair and What's My Age Again by Blink182
tapedeck Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 neat...Some Wings is coming mid Feb too...Awesome!! :D
welsh_gamer Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Downloaded the Springsteen songs. Born to Run is a classic to play to. neat...Some Wings is coming mid Feb too...Awesome!! :D Seriously? 'Jet' would be awesome.
Mokong Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I was gonna mention the Feb Track Pack in the news article I did but then I thought I'd best wait and see if they come out on the Wii in Europe on time first. But here is what is "expected" in Feb The Acoustic Track Pack - Available February 12th 2009 1.) "Drive" by Incubus 2.) "New Slang" by The Shins 3.) "Wonderwall" by Ryan Adams The Wings Track Pack - Available February 19th, 2009 1.) "Junior's Farm" 2.) "Hi Hi Hi" 3.) "Jet" The Bob Seger Track Pack - Available February 26th, 2009 1.) "Old Time Rock and Roll" 2.) "Her Strut" 3.) "Get Out of Denver (Live)" The Incubus song is all i'm interested in from that list. And I just noticed while playing "Whats My Age Again?" Travis doesn't appear as the drummer... would have thought they'd have come up with a way to have his model appear in his DLC songs, just a small niggle
not_so_tiny Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 I downloaded 'Born To Run' (Classic!!) and 'My Lucky Day' last night, Springsteen is awesome. I'm really looking forward to the Acoustic Track Pack, 3 great songs (I prefer the Ryan Adam's cover than the Oasis version).
Roostophe Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The Wings pack could be good. Only know Jet but if those other two songs are as excellent as Band On The Run, consider it downloaded. Drive by Incubus? Yatta.
tapedeck Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 The Wings pack could be good. Only know Jet but if those other two songs are as excellent as Band On The Run, consider it downloaded. Drive by Incubus? Yatta. The other 2 Wings songs are amazing. Hi Hi Hi is about as slutty as McCartney has ever been. Brill songs all around though. Hope it's a sign of things to come
Mokong Posted January 29, 2009 Posted January 29, 2009 Was gonna make another thread but then thought best just post it here Coming to the Wii and all major consoles in this Spring, virtual bands around the world are preparing to Ride the Lighting with Guitar Hero: Metallica. Featuring 45 tracks from every studio album from the bands historic musical career and tracks from other high profile bands selected by Metallica to appear in their game. Aswell as this the game will feature a new "Expert+" difficulty mode for the drums. With the use of a second bass kick pedal compatible with the GH:World Tour Drum Kit and a new double bass drum note track, creating a note-for-note translation of many of the songs in game allowing you to wail like Lars himself. (ED - If you can play this and don't own a real drum kit we suggest you get one and start your own band) Also Wii players who downloaded any or all of the three DLC Metallica songs on the GH: World Tour Music Store will also have access to them while playing GH: Metallica.
