Daft Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I kept alternating between the campaign and online. Not sure if I could have done just the campaign. And Daft - I would still play co-op but my data got erased for both co-op and competitive, so I've decided to stick with competitive now so I could catch up with where I was. Shame I was at level 14 or something when it cut out Yeah I remember. That's lame, sorry to hear about that. I haven't tries competitive yet. Might give that a go today.
dwarf Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 Well there's lots of NE-ers online now so I'm trying to get together some Res 2 games.
Daft Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Cool. I'm only renting the game but I'll probably keep it for another week.
flameboy Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 OOOOHHH! I'm just gonna do a bit of Animal Crossing stuff then will pop on...
Daft Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Someone send me an invite!!! :p Edit: How bloody complicated does it want to be to accept an invite. Finally found it in the party options at the top...
dwarf Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 Sos guys I didn't quite get that whole thing working properly, tere were a few issues, ah well, at least I got to see what some people were like.
Daft Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Not a fan of the straight off death match. Coop and team I llke. I'm too used to being a medic tbh.
dwarf Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 Hehe I prefer deathmatch and team deathmatch because I'm relatively good at it.
LegoMan1031 Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I will have the game tomoz! You can defo count me in for some online once i have it!
flameboy Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Yeah sorry I didn't get on...as we were all finally on the game. My game crashed...then couldn't be bothered.
LegoMan1031 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Had a decent play of this now. Much better than Resistance 1 although i wouldn't say it betters other similar type shooters that i have played. Not tried the online yet though, only played some of the campaign so far.
dwarf Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 Well online is the best part - and the campaign gets progessively better - so you should enjoy it a lot.
Pit-Jr Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 bought this yesterday. Immediately tried the 2 player splitscreen co-op with my brother and hated it. But then i moved on to the amazing story campaign. I havent heard many ppl comment on the visuals of this game but there is some eye-popping stuff in there!
dwarf Posted December 29, 2008 Author Posted December 29, 2008 Especially the waterfall effects in the first level But yeah there is some good stuff in there - skylines are usually impressive.
LegoMan1031 Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Graphic wise i find the game to be quite mixed. It has some really impressive stuff such as the ships in the sky etc but then looking at some of the buildings and cars in game they seem very bland.
dwarf Posted January 1, 2009 Author Posted January 1, 2009 Has everyone stopped playing this or something? I am putting it in occasionally for an hour and it is still very entertaining.
LegoMan1031 Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Has everyone stopped playing this or something? I am putting it in occasionally for an hour and it is still very entertaining. I still do... (well i haven't had it as long as other peeps i suppose). Single player seems to be getting better as i'm playing through it!
dwarf Posted January 2, 2009 Author Posted January 2, 2009 Yeah it gets much better. I've now ranked up to lvel 15 which gives you the Snake Eyes(Pulse Cannon)/LAARK beserk which is quality, gives you 1 primary and 1 secondry fire with either weapon depending whether you're chimeran or human. The pulse cannon can muller everyone within a mid-range radius with it's secondry which is intense
Happenstance Posted January 2, 2009 Posted January 2, 2009 Im looking forward to being able to try out the multiplayer on this but unfortunately I have to wait until my connection is sorted. Ive got a feeling with my speed being 120k at the moment it might be a bit laggy!
dwarf Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 I have a wireless connection that isn't too great and there usually isnt lag. The awesomeness of the online mode has really stunned me over the past few days, I've got pretty damn good and have won about 9/10 deathmatches today. Levelling up is fun just for the cool armour, I'm turning into a nerd lol.
Pit-Jr Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 Why must all modern games include areas that require you to stumble around in an almost pitch dark maze, with a shitty flashlight as your only hope of getting out. Note to developers: This is NEVER A FUN GAMEPLAY MECHANIC On to more positive things, the firefights in this game are ridiculously entertaining, particularly the downtown Chicago ones.
dwarf Posted January 3, 2009 Author Posted January 3, 2009 What part are you talking about? I don't think Resistance had a part that bad, but I agree those parts are annoying.
Aimless Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 What part are you talking about? I don't think Resistance had a part that bad, but I agree those parts are annoying. I would imagine Pit-Jr's referring to the unlit Spinner tunnels, the ones full of cocoons and busted vehicles before you fight the boss at the top of the defence tower. He's also stolen my PSN avatar, the bastard.
Pit-Jr Posted January 3, 2009 Posted January 3, 2009 yeah Aimless! that one was a pain as well as the building you enter after the flooding in Chicago...and also some of the residential houses that litter the game. Minor complaint to an otherwise beautifully linear game Also, its been my PSN avatar for a while now, i just decided to use it here too for the sake of conformity
