Sanchez Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 http://www.cairoshell.com/features/ http://www.cairoshell.com/wp-content/themes/cairo/downloadsmain.php?catid=8 This is a hopefully-not-vaporware, soon to be released shell for windows with a focus on transparency and maximizing usability. Although it's fairly clear that this borrows from many other places, if its as good as it looks then i'll definitely give it a try. Thought others might like to keep an eye on this one.
DCK Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 That does look very awesome. It's somewhat similar to KDE4's look and feel, but it seems even better.
Konfucius Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Could be worth a look, sounds interesting enough after all. I hope it gets a release.
Shorty Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 That looks very nice actually, a little mac inspired will probably be giving it a try
Jimbob Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Looks interesting, and like Shorty said looks a little mac inspired as well. Parts of it do look strangely familiar with mac. Still, be worth a look if it gets a release.
McPhee Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Reminds me of Linux a lot, just more polished. Will probably try it out when it's released!
Ryan Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 I'd be wary of installing a new shell, since my brother uses my computer too. But damn if it's tempting..
RoadKill Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 It looks pretty delicious, I've been following it for a bit, but seen nothing other than concept images so far. Also, they seem to want to develop the start menu first, which I couldn't give two shits about since I use Launchy for almost all my apps. What would interest me is an amazing, new explorer replacement
Jasper Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Is it me, or does it look like Mac a lot? It has coverflow, those info lists on the bottom of 'finder'-windows, circly closing buttons, and a bar without a windows button, this time on the bottom... Well, if you steal you better do it well - and this seems a pretty good steal.
