blender Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 It has always bothered me that Pikmin die so graphically.... 1) They are the good guys 2) They are cute 3) They are exploited till they die 4) They cry when they die 5) There is no such thing as natural death - burn, drown or crushed Olimar is a c&nt 1) A greedy capitalist out to make money 2) Doesnt lift a finger when there are pikmin 3) Involves himself in deforestation and destruction of wildlife 4) rumour for Pikmin 3 is that he doesnt even have to walk now as the pikmin follow him 5) Olimar is happy to abandom them at the end of the day 6) Olimar enforces racial stereo types by assigning jobs based on the colour of skin. Apparently Pikmin3 has some darkies ! Nintendo think they dont like guns, they also dont like blood but when it comes to pikmin.... ANYTHING GOES. I see Torture, rape and sacrifice. What are nintendo trying to teach us. Zelda has always had a good christian message but my god what is going on here. Are there any other examples of graphic and explicit death in a Nintendo game? Another Code also made me think about it too. Anyway, my thoughts are with the Pikmin. It makes me wonder whether heaven exists and is there room in it for computer game characters. I sense the meddling of the Super Adventure Club.... and seriously worried about Myamoto theology what plans he has for us. Can Pikmin 3 have a happy ending? Afterall, heroes dont die, they just reload.
RossK Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 good post :P I used to get upset when my pikmin died on the gamecube games , id feel bad:shakehead id want to restart the level if some fell in water and helplessly flapped away squealing . Its a bit unclear why the pikmin race is so dedicated to olimar isnt it , what do they get out of it!!
Deathjam Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 LOL I need to give these games a proper play. A nintendo game disturbing?! Never...well there was eternal darkness...
flameboy Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 LOL I need to give these games a proper play. A nintendo game disturbing?! Never...well there was eternal darkness... I've always thought Mario was quite disturbing before he turned more cutesy. Think cannibalistic plants popping out of plants trying to eat you. Taking mushrooms to aid your quest. Mario used to be a very disturbing and surreal game really.... Great post Blender.

Yes, eating a mushroom that makes you grow, then doing something with a flower that makes you shoot fireballs, really!

Kurtle Squad Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 There's pleanty of blood and grusomeness in Nintendo games if you look hard enough: Mario can drown in sand...How awful Link can die by being shagged by the dead
