Dan_Dare Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I heard an immense trick with Dhalsim off a mate: if you ultra his slow moving fireball thing, then teleport across the screen you're opponent auto turns his back to the fireball and it's unblockable. Zing!

Zing! They could still jump over it though :p His fireballs always seem to catch me out though. They move so damn slow!
Dan_Dare Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 true, but the switch kind of fucks with you a bit- like you think you're blocking then suddenly you're walking in to a fierce punch to the teeth. And Getting set on fire.
Jav_NE Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Boo, dropped from 1850 BP to 1600 BP It sucks having more points because you lose so much if some n00b gets lucky against you. I only lost two matches but that was enough to take 200 points off me! And when i win i only get 30-50 points because they're usually a similar level or lower than me. Its a bit unbalanced and unfair if you ask me.
Shorty Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I did lose to a n00b playing as Cammy though. I just hate that bitch, she's my nemesis. Spiral Arrow, Spirral Arrow, Cannon Spike... grr! Feck off! Cammy is my new fav I love when some noob's standing across the screen linking fireballs with Ryu or Sagat and you just use Spiral Arrow and the twirling backhand attack to get right up to them and teach them a lesson.

Shorty Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Why is it that I only seem to fight people with double my BP? I mean, obviously they are not fighting people with double - so why do I? I played at least 20 games tonight and all of them were against someone with a higher BP than me.
Jav_NE Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Have you got it set to "More Skilled" in the search settings? Not that it would matter much, the search settings dont seem very strict. I come accross loads of people with no points and some with double mine when i have 1500 BP or so and i have it set to "Same Skill". It's bollocks. I guess it does say "set search priority" so i guess you get a bit of everything mixed in with your preference, but it shouldn't be like that. Means its pot luck who you pick.
Shorty Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) The matchmaking is pretty shit. As you said, you can set it to 'same skill' and still fight people with 2000BP more. Or you can set it to strong connection and get nothing but red bars. The whole 'searching' function could do with a complete rewrite tbh - for example you spend 30 seconds searching, pick the person from the top of the list straight away and it says they're unavailable (often no reason is given...) and does it let you go back and pick a second choice? No, it makes you start searching again v_v on a site note I played my 200th online match and won my 100th yesterday. So I'm slightly below 50% I also went back on arcade mode and cleared medium in one try with Cammy... no continues Edited March 19, 2009 by Shorty
Dyson Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I might consider beating arcade on medium with all characters. I just dunno if I can be bothered with it, I've already done it on v. easy for Seth
Jav_NE Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I'm struggling with Seth on Easiest. Tap hard kick. It works more often than not with most characters on easiest. I wouldn't have considered bothering doing it on medium with every character but i found out you can do it with any character up until Seth, then choose the character you need to beat him with. Saves having to do every round with crap characters like Dhalsim, but the Seth fight will still be a pain in the ass.
Dyson Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 That's cool. It's just the hassle of going through it all again Dan Dare got royally owned by me earlier, and it was goooood.
The Bard Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Not played this for ages. Anyone game this weekend?
Goron_3 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Not played this for ages. Anyone game this weekend? I'm up for a few games I'm free sat and sunday evenings

I spent so long doing it over so many sessions... I've forgotten who I've done it with and who I haven't v_v; I'm fairly sure I've done it with about 22-23 characters I just don't know which ones I skipped
Falcon_BlizZACK Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 This game gets boring... easily. I can't really put my finger on why. I can still play Alpha 3 and Millenium Fighting with joy, but SF4... feels 'different'.
Shorty Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Are you playing it multiplayer or online at least? I got tired of the arcade mode fairly quick, and a bit fed up of the challenges, but SF's always been about the versus human element.

Thats mostly what I've been doing; playing with friends and family. No online though. I think its the simplicity and familiarization of the game while having fewer characters. With Alpha 3 and Snk vs Capcom, when i get bored with my main fighters, i go off to try some other characters at least just to see their animations. But the choices in 4 are limited and too familiar. Bare in mind I win 95% of the fights. ^^

Shorty Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Check the Gallery for which characters endings you don't have. I would do but I already completed it on easy with everyone early on so I could unlock everything v_v
Dyson Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I made a little checklist which was handy. Try doing that
Dyson Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 If only you had my genius a month or so ago! :awesome:
