Munch Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Messiah CompleX I just finished reading this about 45 seconds ago and wow, it is really good, it has lived up to the hype that surrounds it, now I just don't know whether to jump straight into Messiah War or to try and collect a few trades inbetween.
ReZourceman Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I'd jump into the next one. The trades in between aren't massively inter-connected, and there'd be loads of them.
Dan_Dare Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 You basically want to read the messiah trilogy, utopia and x-force. I think. Sound about right to you, rez?
Paj! Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Started Dynamo 5, it's entertaining. I like the dynamic between them all so far, and it seems quite solidly characterised for being only 3 issues in. I like the stereotype reversal of the gothy girl being super strong and the huge jock being a quite bad psychic.
ReZourceman Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Yeah exactly. Its excellent in terms of characterisation and non-mouldly. Or mould breakingly. Also I kind of have a *huge* crush on Scrap. And (although you're a long way off) I think you will love what happens in issue 25 in a similar level to my love for it.
Daft Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Now that the eternity that is Smallville is finally ending... ...can we have a Batman television show?
Happenstance Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Very doubtful, Nolan doesnt want Bruce Wayne or Batman appearing on tv while his movies are still ongoing. Thats why plans for Bruce Wayne to appear on Smallville years ago were shelved.
Happenstance Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 There was going to be a Robin tv series the other year. It would have followed Dick Graysons life before his parents were killed and they tour the country, solving crimes......thankgod it was never made.
Daft Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 A Nightwing TV series might be pretty cool. Obviously this would cause Nolan to have a period so there's no chance of that.
Happenstance Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Being a fan of Smallville id be happy with a Green Arrow spin off. The most likely at the moment is a Blue Beetle series with the test footage that came out a few weeks ago.
Dante Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Very doubtful, Nolan doesnt want Bruce Wayne or Batman appearing on tv while his movies are still ongoing. Thats why plans for Bruce Wayne to appear on Smallville years ago were shelved. It was WB like they did with Aquaman, Batwoman, some Batman villians and later Joker in JL:U
Happenstance Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Well everytime ive read about it, its been Nolan and the WB talked about
Paj! Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I doubt they'll make a Batman live action show...can't imagine it looking good/coming off well. Closest was Bird of Prey, which ASAIK never aired here, and only had the one season. That's a Batman spin-off comic/TV show.
Daft Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Gotham: Batman the Early Year or a live action Batman Beyond. Or a Batman Beyond film. Batman Beyond. The villains were so freaking awesome.
Paj! Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 A live action Batman Beyond would be shite. Especially on a TV budget. The style would be mostly lost/look silly. I need to rewatch that series. I loved.

Daft Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 A live action Batman Beyond would be shite. Especially on a TV budget. The style would be mostly lost/look silly. I need to rewatch that series. I loved. I know. I just want anything Batman Beyond. I'd love for DC to really try and raise its profile. It was so cool. It's the only cartoon series that I actually acknowledged had seasons and wanted to watch every episode one after the other - just so awesome. It worked so well, and not just that, it felt a lot like the usual Gotham and Batman, too.
Happenstance Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I didnt realise Guardians of the Globe starts this month, quite looking forward to it.

First in a Superman/Batman annual thing, and now a mini-series. If that's popular, an on-going might happen. I've not read the comic yet.

'Batman Beyond: Future Evil' is the trade, right? Any idea when it's out roughly?
Paj! Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 29 March 2011. :p That's the trouble with wanting to read a current storyline that's going-on, but in trade. It'll take a while! Walking Dead this week was good. It's such a good series, and it's always a shame how quickly one gets through each issue, as it's like there's no break between each issue, which I'm sure makes reading the trades great. Just makes you want more when it's every month. I forgot about the phone. Ultimate Avengers 3 issue 1 was let down by the art. It was the definition of "fine". Just not on any level interesting. Bit of a shame after the first 2 arcs really great art. Plus Blade is probably my least favourite "iconic" Marvel character.
Daft Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Hmm, I think I'll pick up the individual issues then. I'm in the mood.
