You are though, your use of the word "Chavball" highlights this,

I haven't used the word chavball once in this entire topic. May have done months ago, but not in this topic itself.

You get segregations of fans in football so each set of supporters have a designated spot to sit and support. They can't mix because football has intense rivalry, which I think is a good thing.

In other words, fans would kill each other if they sat together, and pro football's reputation would be even more shit.

Bollocks.

I recently went to see Chelsea vs. Bolton right in the middle of the premiership run in when either Chelsea or Man Utd could win the title. I sat with the Chelsea fans, despite being a Man Utd supporter and cheered when Bolton scored both of their goals and when it showed that Man Utd had scored in their game on the big screen. We were about 10 yards away from the Bolton fans as well with just a small barrier in between - if they really wanted to kill each other then they would have done the truth is they don't.

I am still alive.

They have fans sitting at opposite ends of the pitch because it makes it more atmospheric. Being able to run to your supporters and celebrate in front of them when you've just scored the winner in the last minute of an important match must be an amazing feeling. Also celebrating when our team scores would be bollocks if half the people around you supported the other guys. Its called passion - something that rugby fans should look up.

LMAO, pointless listening to a word you say from now on when you come out with garbage like that.

Segregation happens because of atmosphere..... riiiiiiigggghhhhhhttt.... :D:D

There are brawls, stabbings and riots when oppositions fans are separated, the death count would jump 100 times if they were sitting together.

- Segregation of fans. Why does this happen in football by the way?

Thats to try and avoid this violence you keep rambling on about.

- Over-payed prima-donnas playing it

I agree some are over paid, but if the industry can afford it I can't see why they can't be. Are you jealous rugby players get paid less?

- Abuse shouted at ref

If the ref gives a shite decision he's gonna get a moutful from me, let alone any player.

- Diving

Arsenal 10/10

- Corruption

Can be found anywhere. I reckon Rugby has its dodgy people too.

- Dull 0-0 or 1-0 scorelines

A one nil win or a nil nil draw can be as awesome as 3-2 win. Different elements making up matches can depend on its excitement. Using the low scorelines as a factor against full shows your ignorance.

- Many players are thugs off the pitch

Err, what? I recall a few incidents of players receiving a beaten off randoms, but not too many of players beating up people. Football is a huge profession, you'll always find a nutjob when you've got a huge group of people. Are you genuinely going to tell me that Rugby doesn't have its thugs? Or are the people punching fellow players on the pitch inviting them over for a cuppa with mum.

- Violence and racism

Kick Racism Out of Football

- Abuse towards opposition players/managers

Its banter, thats all, after the game we're all friends again. Unless you're a Tottenham fan.

- Hostile atmosphere

You've never been to a match.

Doesn't happen in rugby. Compare a packed Wembley to a packed Twickenham. Same capacity, all still human beings. One segregated, one not.

I'm PLEASED rugby players aren't payed millions a week. Makes them more down to earth and friendly, less ****-ish.

Contrast that where in rugby, players call the ref 'sir' and respect his authority.

Ok.

There could be 1000 shots at goal, but it is still 90 minutes of guys kicking a ball to each other.

Clearly you've not heard the expression football is a gentleman's sport played by thugs. Rugby is a thug's sport played by gentlemen.

Kick Racism Out of Football

So? Still happens in football and not rugby.

Tell that to the hooligans who meet up after games and beat the fuck out of each other. Again a minority, but it still happens.

- Hostile atmosphere

You've never been to a match.

Yes I have plenty. Never been so bored in my life.

Motion your replies are compeltely ignorant. You reckon there is absolutely no racism in rugby what so ever? Not even one nob head in the crowd saying something?

Thats bollocks. How ever awful it is, at the current time our species can't get past it.

No I'm just saying it happens far more in football. If it gets to the point where the FA have to start a campaign to get rid of racism, you know it's bad.

No, Rugby is attended by perfect people whom we should all aspire to...

Seriously though, Thats why I can't argue because he is blinded so badly by the bad things in football he can't even come close to see what is good about the game.

The way he talks about Boring 0-0 Draws just tells you how much he doesn't feel the passion for the game.

Fact remains, 12,000 rugby supporters need only 6 policemen.

12,000 football supporters need 600.

The FA Didn't start it, however I take your point, the only reason why It happens so much in football is because more people follow the sport from different walks of life. So you will pick up the Racists the Homophobes etc.

I refuse to believe Rugby doesn't have a few scumbags following their teams, just like in football.

He doesn't even have passion for his own game, so don't expect him to have any for another sport.

Anyone who loves their sport would be proud of its positives and why they enjoy the sport, instead of trying to belittle the more popular sport. Its like people boycotting the iPod and buying Zens because the iPod is popular.

As a matter of interest, Can I just ask you how you know that?

Because I'm sure their has to be a proportion of Police to Public in any public event....

Different walks of life? Don't see how you can use that as an argument. Do you mean more working-class (council estate?) people watch football?

I refuse to believe Rugby doesn't have a few scumbags following their teams, just like in football.

In 15 years of supporting and playing rugby, I've never ever seen a fight or brawl and never heard any of the type of abuse you get at football matches. I'm not saying there's never been a scumbag in 100 years of rugby EVER but the proportion is FAR lower than football.

Oh fuck off mate. You don't have any clue as to how passionate I am about rugby. As Ant said about himself and football, rugby is my life.

Also it might be worth notifying to Motion that the reason why Football stadiums have much strict guidelines of late is due to the fact that Football stadiums are common targets for terrorism.

Every so often you hear about people who got into the stadiums un-touched, that is why they are so strict now.

Don't let that rugby gentlemens approach get all hostile and offensive on me, unless you want to ruin your false arguments.

I can't quote you a source I'm afraid as I read it months ago. But when I go to a rugby match, I struggle to find TWO policemen, let alone 6.

LOL I said the 'f-word' oooooooo

Ok so let's assign 300 of the 600 football police officers to prevent terrorist attacks.

Even with that huge over-allocation it's still 300:6

You have truly open a whole new Kettle of fish, acusing people who live in council esates of being racists and what nots....Thats way below the belt. What sport they follow is irrelevent, and yes maybe those who Live in Council Estates Follow football, does that make them bad people, no far from...

How many football matches have you been in 15 Years? and name them then maybe you will have a point because not all football matches and their rivalry are like what you say they are.

As for proportion it works both ways, more people follow football hence more scumbags hence more violence, but don't tar us with the same brush

Ok, so now your downgrading the use of the word on an internet forum. Yet when its used in a football stadium, its an outrage? Sort it out.

Posted

Y'know Motion, these people are making good arguments against your football-bashing and all you are retaliating with is "It's better in rugby" or "It doesn't happen in Rugby".

Funny, though. I wonder why football gets all the press coverage and rugby, in comparison, gets very little? Could it be because football is more interesting? More people enjoy it?

Personally I think both of the above are the reasons.

I didn't say that at all. You're the one who said football fans comes from 'all walks of life'. I was just wondering what you meant by that?

How many football matches have you been in 15 Years? and name them then maybe you will have a point because not all football matches and their rivalry are like what you say they are.

I've been to a few England matches. England v USA, Brazil, Uraguay and a few others a long time ago. Club wise I've been to 5 Chelsea matches, v Arsenal, Spurs twice, Liverpool and I can't remember the other. And a few others years ago when I've been given a free ticket.

As for proportion it works both ways, more people follow football hence more scumbags hence more violence, but don't tar us with the same brush

More people may follow rugby, but a packed stadium is a packed stadium. A football ground and a rugby ground can both hold 15,000 for example, allowing for perfect comparison of crowd behaviour.

The fact is though it is up to the Club and the Council who issued the ground safety certificate how many police need to be present.

Their may of been 6 Policemen at the ground in Leicester but there would of been 100's more stewards, at any public event their HAS to be a certain amount of safety personnal in the area. Wether it be police or safety stewards.
