It is indeed to help them see in the dark, serving as a mirror which reflects the light back onto the retina. We humans produce 'red eye' instead as all we have are the blood vessels at the back of the eye.

I await mid-air feline photos from you in the near future Ahh it's rubbish - just back from Uni and am not really settled anywhere. I'd love to just 'acquire' pets like I used to (like when my friends bought me geese for my 18th) but I know someone will be inconvenienced by it, if not the pet itself. I counted roughly 20 moths in my room last night if it's any consolation. Apart from the massive bat-like one that kept making shuttle-flights between the light, laptop screen and wall, it did liven the place up a bit.

When we had a house I wanted an alsatian/border collie...I'm now in a flat and have seriously considered a Pug. Closest I've had to a pooch was the cockeral - that thing was class, and I can't even be having one of them now... mhmm, definitely arguable both ways. Dogs do have this dumb affection which they will pretty much offer to anyone, by and large. It disappoints me to think that dogs will happily greet murderers and fully qualified rapists with absolutely no caution. With cats, one often has to earn their respect...

Bout time i stepped into the fray.. re: 'a poor mans Fabregas'...doubt 'chatting shit' helps when getting your point accross. Firstly, it's true to say that Jenas is an inconsistent performer. At the same time, he is a very able and talented player, and has made a noticeable improvement towards becoming the midfield talisman Spurs fans have wanted out of him since he signed ( - his England call up, performances against the 'big teams' and his rise to captaincy should all be noted). But anyway, you're commenting on two players very different in mindset and physique. Modric would be a more suitable comparison - he is expected to fulfil the 'playmaker role'. Honestlyl, I'll be ecstatic if he is as effective for us as Fabregas is for ar5ena1 - but I am also pretty confident he will be.

I think the theme is better with human inclusion... This noble little terrier belongs to my brother's girlfriend - I've yet to own a dog but I still manage to get photos with them:

Next door to me lives a very strange man - so strange that I felt the need to tell you all about him... His most distinctive and alarming quality is his trademark noise. To attempt to describe it, I would say it's an 'uaAH' sound, and we hear him shouting it for most of the day. I have tried to link it with some sort of activity he may be doing, and the best I've come up with is that it happens during shaving: note that his electric shaver is on for hours at a time. I can't speak much for what goes on inside his house, but his outside behaviour is worrying enough. Most days he'll frequently trim the few plants he has in his front garden. By trim, he actually cuts off roses, and then cuts all the petals into tiny pieces and puts them in a bag. He then walks away with his bag, (always wearing shorts, socks and sandals I might add), and wonders off out into the road. He then searches for any leaves or rubbish in the road and puts them in his bag, which he then takes back home with him. As for his involvement with us, last Christmas he posted a card with no name on it through our door (I happened to see him post it), and more recently, he trimmed our hedge next to his front garden to a near bare state. My diagnosis is that the man is an obsessive compulsive. I feel sorry for him, but he is also hilarious to watch. Do you have any strange neighbours?

Rokhed's got the right idea. Besides, whether you're "manly" or not, you're forgetting just how distorted the general public's view of 'manliness' actually is. So many guys adopt the trademark character that walks, talks and dresses in 'male' mode only...sad thing is they're the ones with the complex. Appreciate the way you are and do what makes you happy - life's better when you don't care what people think.
