The points you've raised dont seem to apply to the blog though. The guy who started it apparently only works in the sound area, and the rest of the team is "apparently in the know" about the blog, and he hasnt said anything more than the anonymous developers IGN spoke to, so what NDA has he broken? I wouldnt say that i believe or not. But people keep analyzing it, as if the point of the blog is to reveal revolution details, but if it real then the point of it is to get ideas for a game from consumers. I dont think they have said anything truly unbelievable yet...

wow thats interesting i wonder how they are going to make up the difference, when developers get a hang of coding for those systems then the performance should move past where it is now. I hope nintendo is planning on competing at that level as opposed to the current one - in regards AI and Physics
-
Apply your fears to a "standard" controller like the dual shock or GC pad or the 360 pad and then maybe you'll understand where nintendo is coming from. Eyetoys main problem is its lack of support, thats same for any non standard peripheral. If it doenst come with the system then developers arent going to risk develoing for it. Just look what happened when Microsoft announced the core package all the developers that were planning on utilizing the hard drive suddenly had to scrap their plans.

I dunno, id see it (mic) as more of an unnannounced feature, i mean its obvious well see one nintendo love the things. N64 had a mic, GC had a mic, DS has a mic built in. I think announcing the mic as the secret would just be a (huge) letdown, it would have to have a pretty special function to not be

Cell only costs a fortune initially, but their plans for mass production of cell go far beyond PS3 and beyond even just sony, eventually cell is goig to be very cheap - i think.
-
Cool didnt know that about the 360 controller. But i rememebr the TGS impressions they had said rumble wasnt implemented in the controllers yet, but the mtv hands on said that there was rumble when they were fishing. Thats mainly why i was asking
-
wasnt the MTV story the first account that mentioned rumble?? well working rumbe anyway, Do the wireless 360 pads have rumble functionality??
-
BigTac didnt nintendo already say that the secret wont be a mic?? Something about their competitors are already doing interesting things with mics, so that wont be the secret????
-
This kind of thing is why i wonder why they didnt just throw in a second cell to do all the graphics.

Hollywood and Broadway... Silly names or Secret CODE!!!

cell reallly isnt that great. Its great for what it was designed for, but computer games is not that function -
Why do you say that as if it is a negative?? The clip looked good and if you dont think so then look closer. And if they managed to do that with gamecube then its not a stretch to think it will look better on Rev
-
so which generation was dreamcast?
-
I think their going to have to put a bit more in for it to be worth 200 in a year. Im hoping they do add some more dedictated hardware im sure that with a ppu and some extra ram they can still keep it around 150 in a years time when it see release
-
Let me just say with your very post you've pointed out the real issue with ports. Its nothing to do with the system capabiliteis its all in how much effort the developers puts in. Frankly given how much alike rev and GC are i dont think there should be any problems with ports where the developer puts in the effort. And we might end up being better off if porting the game means they have to start from scratch. If the argument being made for difficult ports on rev were really true, then we wouldnt have seen as many ports last generation and we wont see many ports next generation either. Porting games from PS3/360 to the other wont be easy either or cheap (for good ports anyway), even if they are closer in power
-
wow so i guess PS2 didnt get ports?? im also guessing PSP nd DS dont get ports ro at least their own version of the game??? The port argument is a load of rubbish if they want the game on the system then they will make it work, simple as. Reading most of your comments Dilli Gee, you are very naive/in the dark about a lot of what your talk about. The way people are reacting though you'd think nintendo were charging 300/ 400 for the console. The machine is obviously going to be incredibly cheap, if this turns out to be true, they are tryign to create a new lower cost market and are leaving the high end stuff to their competitors. You need to put everything into context, if you still try to measure them with the markers set by ms and sony then you are going to be very disappointed indeed. Frankly they tried it MS and Sony's way, they even played the game better than their competitors but they still were as successful as they hoped. So now they are justified in trying something different
-
Nah i believe hey are trying to launch the budget console market. Expect revolution to be cheaper than expected if these rumours turn out to be true. Cheaper than their competitors can match. It will reflect in the graphical capabilities COMPARED to sony and MS. But will be better than this gen. Kojimas ramblings make more sense now (to me anyway), "revolution is like a steak you can eat every night where as PS3 is the steak you eat once a week" or something to the effect DS and PSP get ports so i dont see why Revolution wont get ports
-
Do you mean in a gamcube fashion it doesnt compete, or are we talking the expected way?? lol your comment can be interpretted in a few different ways would you be able to elaborate? I dont know why people worry about ports, im mean the DS gets ports of current gen titles or at least its own version so why worry about ports because of graphics or the controller??
-
July 2006 lol they cant be serious. It doesnt say that no one will be hired before 2006 does it?? or maybe some of their artists and coders contracts run out then / they need them for other games but you cant really advertise the secret games now can you?
-
Lol i thought he didnt play games anymore, prolly got it for the multimedia functionality
-
What nintnendo need to do is remove all multimedia functionality from the revolution. And have a company come up with a device like panasonic 'Q' then they just need to make sure that both are marketed right. Saying that does anyone know how well the panasonic Q sold?? its a shame it wasnt released worldwide!
-
the picture actually oloks real good underneath all the junk thats been added on top. As to whether its real or not we dont really know
-
did you check the screens?? they look nice

The DS was the better idea. Simply because it was to prove their concept. It was a stroke of genius to release the 3rd pillar an expensive experiment and they couldnt have launched at a better time, its like sony walked right into it. People are quick to say you cant compare the portable and home markets, yet sony was predicted to easily take the "win" due to their home market performance. Anyway DS was the better idea because revolution was coming with or without ds (nintendo invested in gyration in 2001). But DS allowed them to prove their strategy against arguably the toughest competition they could have faced (at this moment in time anyway) but to answer your real question id say intheory Revolution
