Just had a quick blast at Guitar Hero and I love it! Shame there's no online co-op though as there's no way I'll be able to play two player at my house, that's 280 achievement points I'll never get! Edit: Nearly 500 pages in this thread!

Is anyone else getting a weird problem when going to http://www.xbox.com???

And now microsoft are saying it probably won't be monday!

Gears patch and new King of the Hill style game mode available on Monday! I'm glad for this new mode as I always suck at the straight deathmatch style game modes but suck a little less on the KotH and CtF type modes! http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/778/778340p1.html

So is mine!

Yeah i did, blame my feeble memory. It's the last setting shown on the connection test screen. All i know is that I couldn't host crackdown games before i changed my router settings to enable NAT to open. Try searching google for crackdown hosting issues with your router, that's how i fixed it for my bt homehub router thing I threw my SUV though the stunt ring near the ferris wheel and it registered as if i drove through it. Can't be bothered doing it for all the rings though so maybe it doesn't unlock the achievement if done this way.. i'm not sure.

The problem is that Epic own all the content they release outright, and they release it free (so far) in order to keep Gears of War popular and in the gaming public's eye so that other will buy it to see what the fuss is about. Extra songs for Guitar Hero will generally be licenced music from some artist that is asking for money for their song to be used, therefore any dlc with real songs will generally cost the guitar hero guys a decent amount of money to release that they have to recoup somehow. The only way i can see free guitar hero content coming is if it's some sort of promotion for the song (i.e. here's a guitar hero track from Feeders upcoming album or here's a song from Halo 3.. buy it now kids).

Those of you working through the achievements in crackdown, you don't have to drive through the stunt rings, just throw a vehicle through them!

Fixed the hosting problem. Just for the record, it looks like you need the NAC setting of the router set to OPEN (not strict or something else). Not sure what this is exactly but you can check what it currently is by doing a connection test on the xbox dashboard.

I'm yet to be impressed by the actual gameplay of mass effect yet though, let's hope the developers are polishing that as much as the graphics

Yeah, just done a bit of digging and those screens where apparantly created by one of the devs that programs the blade interface as an example of how clan functionality COULD work if they implemented it. To be honest it just looks like a second friends list with ranks anyway and doesn't really add anything interesting to me.

My funniest xbox live experience was when an American bloke accused me of cheating by "living in another country and causing lag so I could kill him easier." This guy actually thought i'd moved to England in order to win at COD 3!

For the first one, join a co-op game (preferably me as I need that achievement too!) and have the other guy pick up the car you're in and throw it in the air (4 star strength helps a lot). Then do as many spins as you can until you land then get the other guy to throw you again and repeat. The second achievement is best done by doing a boss timed level that has lots of cars in his lair (can't remember a good one right now) and just lock on to the cars and aim at the wheels but moving the stick down. repeat till you get it.

Download Frets on Fire for the PC and have a play around with it (it's free btw). It's essentially the same game as guitar hero but with keyboard control which makes it harder i guess. I really enjoy it so that's why I'm getting guitar hero, even if i never get up to the hard levels.

I think it's scandalous that they're charging that much for it. It is after all a port of a PS2 game at it's core. Sure there's quite few new bits, like the HD graphics and the extra songs but the vast majority of the game was already coded up. If the game was the same price as any other 360 title I wouldn't mind, but to charge extra just because it comes with the plastic guitar controller is not good. Am i right in thinking that the PS2 version didn't charge extra for the controller and game?

I know where they are but i'm not telling!

Guitar Hero II! Time to rock all over again!

Does anyone know anywhere where it's not 65 quid or more? Seems a little expensive considering the PS2 version is 15 pounds less at worst -
Yeah it was cool. Sorry for having to leave early but real life is a pain! Also, Crackdown in multiplayer is pretty cool too, I recommend it to everyone!

I'll be online till 9 tonight if anything happens
-
Anyone know of an easy to get achievement that is 1 point?
-
Fantastic, I've got quite a bit of free time this week so expect to see me online fairly soon.
-
I've been away this weekend, did I miss anything? I'm up for multiplayer anything whenever I'm on my own in the house and you see me online.

Usually I'd agree with you, but lately Gameplay's calendar has gone completely off the rails. Just look at what is supposedly being released at the end of this month for Xbox 360: C&C 3 Bioshock Brothers In Arms Medal of honor Alone in the dark The darkness Indiana Jones 2007 Timeshift Too Human Shadowrun Hellboy etc I appreciate that they might not be given an exact release date and need to put the games on their site for pre orders, but why can't they just put TBA 2007 or something rather than making a mockery of their release calendar pages. The same thing is happening for the Wii release calendar too.
