  1. New, cheesy Elebits multiplayer trailer at IGN. http://wii.ign.com/articles/727/727443p1.html
  2. Heh. I'm just wondering could you guys add little care to grammar. I mean, most of guys are both literate and native english speakers.
  3. Believe, Sony and Microsoft will be quite same. Heck, Sony didn't even bring any PS3 controllers to Leipzig, so it is that pre-rendered crap again.
  4. How you "need" to know? After all, month is more than enough to do your pre-orders, even if you are lazy.
  5. Nah, probably few days earlier, or during same day. And is espicially also new word that I don't know?
  6. What is stratagy? Is that new word that I don't know (notice sarcasm)? And building hype? They are just doing that. Sony unloaded all their stuff during E3 and don't really have anything to show anymore. Nintendo does trickle information in steady pace, keeping hype factor relatively stable.
  7. Yeah, that basically explains why most people are excited for possibility of re-release of 10 years old game (Final Fantasy VII, that is).
  8. It is fun how Cubed3 also missed parts where Molyneux actually praised Wiimote and DS, and left only "bad" parts.
  9. That's how the budget titles work. Sony / Microsoft / Nintendo buy distribution rights for the game and sells it as a budget game. And believe me, 3rd party companies are paid well* to have their games in budget range. * Especially when you consider that game turns into budget title very late durings its lifetime. Most of the players that wanted title have already bought it, so game company doesn't really have anything to "lose".
  10. I'm pretty sure that Wiimakes will be released under new brand and Nintendo controls what games will get budget releases. In addition that it allows Nintendo to control quality, it also benefits 3rd parties, because Nintendo prints, distributes, and market games (3rd parties save lots of money as a result of this).
  11. Well, Sony was publishing PSOne Platinum games during first four years of PS2's lifetime and you can be pretty sure that they will do same thing with PS2 games when PS3 is out. Microsoft is publishing 9 £ "Best of the Platinum" titles for Xbox / Xbox 360. Nintendo is basically doing same thing except that they also add some extra value to their classics range.
  12. I don't really see problem with upgraging GC games for Wii and releasing them as budget titles. Of course, we* wouldn't buy them, but for newbies that skipped whole GC that would be godsend. Plus some great GC games have been OOP for so long time that it is very hard to find them as new. * GC users, that is
  13. And even more if games are packed some way. For example most NES games pack into half of their original size if packed with zip or rar.
  14. Yeah but only few very rare cases that widescreen is actually "real" 854 x 480 widescreen. Usually widescreen is anamorphic in games. This means that picture's resolution is actually 724 x 480, but when you play it using widescreen television, image spreads and looks correct. To make my point more clear, here is two pictures that I have taken from Sin City DVD that is anamorphic release. First picture shows how movie is actually stored in the DVD. Second shows film actually looks when used with widescreen television. http://img235.imageshack.us/img235/8710/sincity1nm3.jpg http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/6437/sincity2dc2.jpg But what happens if you don't have widescreen television? Then film also spreads widescreen aspect ratio, but you will get black borders on top and bottom of the film (DVD player handles this process).
  15. Hmh, did you even read other posts in this thread? I mean he didn't mean HD-TV. And I explained why we can except more clear looking textures with Wii.
  16. Added "Diet Training" and "Need for Speed: Carbon".
  17. Bloomberg of Japan is informing that Nintendo is releasing "Diet Training" game for Nintendo Wii before end of this year. Brain Training will also get Wii version, though no specific date was given. SOURCE: Pelaaja, Finland's second biggest gaming magazine http://pelaajalehti.com/2006/08/15/nyt-pelaamalla-eroon-laskimakkaroista/
  18. 640 x 480 is standard (albeit low-end) resolution for PCs. That's why most games are simply programmed into that resolution, even though TV has slightly bigger resolution than that. Yes. But this requires far more processing power, so don't except it to happen very often. With RGB, each main colour (Red, Green, Blue) is seperated into its own line. This creates more clearer picture with better colour balance / contrast. When textures are put on the game disc, they are compressed to save important space. In addition that compressing textures saves space, it also affects how good texture actually look. Too tightly compressed texture looks blurry and washed out. With Gamecube, 3rd party publishers needed to compress their textures even more than with Xbox or PS2, because GC disks can hold only 1.4 GB worth of data. With Wii, textures are having less compression because you have more storage space. Less compression = less compression artifacts = sharper looking textures Also because Wii has more GPU memory, it can have more different textures in memory at same time.
  19. Nintendo actually did SD memory card adapter for Gamecube in Japan. Device worked pretty well, but Nintendo stopped producing it because there wasn't enough demand for it. It was also tad expensive. http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=78&products_id=776
  20. First, we are talking launch window games. Secondly Miyamoto only stated that if SMBG isnt' there for launch, it will be released during next six months (before june in worst case scenario). And Nintendo officially believes that SMBG will be out before end of current fiscal year.
  21. Nintendo has no presence at TGS. No booth, no keynote. Nada. Zip. Nothing.
  22. Smash Bros was clearly stated to be late 2007 title.
  23. That's definitely launch title, as Retro Studios confirmed it.
  24. Nintendo says so. Of course this makes me wonder what kind of Resident Evil game Wii will get? Probably port of some earlier game. Added also Prince of Persia.
  25. Some articles say that launch day, some launch window. Can't really say which one is the case.
