  1. I didn't say it has to be noticeable, just that previously, it always was, more-so; bit wars, 2D to 3D, SD to HD. Technology power advancement may have largely defined those generations, but technology advancement doesn't define the meaning of 'a generation'. That's the difference. It doesn't matter how much RAM the ps4 has compared to the Wii U, Wii U and UE4 partnership quite obviously doesn't exist at the moment for reasons other than RAM or CPU if it can run on phones and browsers. Simple. Grouping all developers in the world together and saying they dictated the specs of next-gen PS4 & 720 is hyperbolic, and another discussion for another day if and when the Wii U and Wii U owners are proven to have been sold short on their experience.
  2. You're missing the point. A noticeable jump in power was just there back in the day. It's like saying generations are defined only by new control pads. The same Mark Rein who can't decide in-between laughing like a silly boy if UE4 can, will or should run on Wii U? This same Mark Rein? The Wii was more powerful than the cube, the wii u is more powerful than the wii and more powerful than the ps360.
  3. Not really, it has nothing to do with power. You can say it if you plan on solely concentrating on 2 of and the 3 next-gen consoles and more or less completely ignore the third as if it doesn't exist. That's just constructing your own reality for your own interests.
  4. Is that in itself unusual though? There is a clear divide in gaming, Nintendo, then the others. It's like being in the same roomful of people and a journo asked "can MS make a console successful without a single shooty shooty game" *everyone laughs*.
  5. You have options to try and understand it, you pretend those options don't exist. Not anyone else's problem. Your issue.
  6. I know, but that's the whole point, people are still trying to shit stir based on the initial 'hahaha, no' story. It's the same time old internet messageboard scenario , facts go against people's ingrained agenda, oh shit, let's pretend I didn't read that and post a smarmy shit stiring comment instead. There's a lack of interest in discussing facts here. Blatant ignorance. This thread is over.
  7. UE4 'won't ' run on Wii U... but will run on browsers and mobile. Most big studios now have their own HD engines, no need for UE use So far, only 3 games announced on UE4 known, two of them MS exclusive. I had to bullet point the actual facts here ... actual tangible facts because it looks like no one else has any facts only shit stiring Wii U blood lust bollox . For any bullshit ill just re-post this bullet list in larger and larger and bolder font style. B b b b b but please, feel free to add your own facts ... I'm waiting.
  8. Frostbite engine, maybe, but I think you like pretty much most people have fallen into the trap of filling in the blanks with pollyfiller made from goo what that female officer in Star Trek TNG that there did die from on that that planet in a galaxy far, far away. No one cares to question these things, they just HIT THE DRAMA QUEEN BUTTON AND CARRY ON Last gen a lot of games and studios used UE3, this gen is supremely different in that, now, most of the larger studios have their own [HD]engines... like EA and Frostbite... What UE4 games have been announced? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unreal_Engine_games#Unreal_Engine_4 Three. And two of those are MS exclusive. This is a radical idea, but there might just be a lack of interest between UE4 and Wii U because.. it just doesn't need it! So let's wait and see how it plays out. Frostbite is different... No ME4 for Wii U would sting hard... Again, let's wait and see before people start pissing their pants. Personally, I know it's absolutely plausible it may not, but, I think it will get a Wii U release... ME3 seems to have held its price on Wii U far, far better than any of the other late ports.
  9. Rummy, I'm not having a go, but, it was long over... your post just kind of went towards stiring it up again mate.

  10. I think the thing to take from this is even if the Wii U was 4x as powerful it still wouldn't see UE4 with everything else as it is. Would be nice to hear the full story and a decent journo ask him some intelligent questions.
  11. Stopped reading after the first sentence - I have no time for random blatant outright cunts, and they only wish they had any say-so whatsoever on my feelings lol. No worries. It's all alleged. If you want to carry it through properly, look through my post history before you condemn someone. I could link to posts from me or others which detail my criticisms of Nintendo, negative news based on fact, not flim-flam, etc, etc, but why the fuck should I? Honestly, no offense Guy, but you can fuck off mate in the kindest possible way. Back on topic. On the suface of it, Wii U 'isn't getting something' which is bad... but people are filling in the blanks with their own horror stories. Seriously, is giving a FREE licence away with every Wii U dev kit for what is currently THE MOST POPULAR DEV ENGINE around; an engine which is held in high regard amongst developers, really... .. .. really a bad business decision? Really? Is it really surprising that a rival engine maker would sneer at the notion of powerful, popular engine free licence Vs his high-end, high licence cost engine? Until there is some actual indepth discussion about what this UE4 statement means and entails for Wii U; until there are Wii U sales results after a couple of years; until we can stand back and look at the Wii U games library after a couple of years, can we say for certain if Nintendo has made good, bad or indifferent business decisions. Let's look back at their recent post history though ... what do we have? Wii, DS, DSi, 3DS... ... all looks pretty good to me. As I've said in other threads in other forum sections, I think Nintendo may owe Wii U owners a response about the lack of third party announcements so far for Wii U, if there are enough owners who feel aggrieved! If there are enough, fair play, shout about it, shout loud, demand answers. Personally, I think there are more Wii U owners and Nintendo fans (that's fans of Nintendo, not fanboys - consider the difference people▲◆) who are trying to convince themselves they WANT to like games like Tomb Raider or BF4. ▲ One place you might find Nintendo fans is surprisingly, on Nintendo sites. ◆ In no way are most Nintendo fans affiliated with or represent the views or opinions of Nintendo fanboys.
  12. Don't worry, Debug_mode's skin is as thick as his head Well, have you asked me if I agree, disagree or just assume what my opinion here is? Aren't all *accusations* entirely unfounded? That's a question, so I can answer that. No, liger and myself hang around on the same street corners. That's another accusation; and stalking! ouch - so sinister. We both have post histories anyone can stalk via our user pages. I'm glad we could eventually bring focus back to the actual subject matter ;-D Engage followed it up the day after for more backtracking but still didn't press for new information or understanding of the situation. The quality of journalism in games has to be at an all time low.
  13. What, that positives are in fact negatives? It is fucking ridiculous the amount of times on this site you feel obliged to explain yourself as not being a fanboy. Questioning truth and reason out of people or what journalists write if it's against Nintendo, the same grubs come crawling out the 'other consoles' section and weild their Almighty multi console owners judgment mallet and proceed to cherry pick the fuck out of a single post and spin until their narrow minds find a way turn 'just a silly little fanboy' into a few paragraphs. Fuck. That. If these people spent more time in the Nintendo section on a **Nintendo** site, then they might be more familiar with mine and other's, posts. Positives are positives and with the Wii U at the minute they need to start somewhere. Right? We can talk numbers and momentum when when those figures are available. Re: UE4, so long as UE3 supports the Wii U and its feature set to its best then that's fine. UE isn't just about graphics though, it's also a set of development tools which supposedly offer time saving benefits over the UE3 environment, so how good are these tools over UE3 and how much dev time can be saved and is that worth the extra cost of the licence to a 3rd parties.
  14. Three high scoring games have just been released and details about Nintendo reaching out to app developers with their new Bamboo framework. Wii U hardware sales have taken an upturn, and so France says, tripled over there. Fact is, any negative Nintendo news get blown out of proportion and nullifies any positive news - that's just the law. And it's that engrained now people don't even realise they're infected with this mind virus, they just gi along with it. I know, it just beggars belief. What a waste of server bandwidth this pile of shite has been! You could only imagine the look of shock on my face when Eurogamer publish this tomorrow - or maybe they'll wait till Tuesday morning when they stop shaking their fist at the sky for being a bank-holiday weekend. EDIT. Just thought I'd add that I'm really shocked by the amount people saying they aren't too impressed by these tech demos... really weird. By my judgement they outweigh the impressed people by a noteworthy margin.
  15. It was actually left to IGN ... yes ... IGN to follow up on the answer. Says he was still laughing and then got a bit petulant at the end. Best interview eeva. So while UE4 proper won't make its way onto Wii U, Rein explains that developers are capable of porting software powered by the engine Rein continues. In addition, says Eurogamer, Nintendo's hardware won't see the likes of Battlefield 4 and Dragon Age 3's Frostbite Engine 3. When people like this are kicking the term 'next-gen' around to mean 'power', what hope is there???? Was this a conference or a spoilt 7 year old's birthday party? So, whichever console is the less powerful out of the ps4 and 720 isn't 'next-gen' then? Best thing about this is the Kotaku guy either went skipping out the room screaming like a little girl to publish his fascinating story as soon as possible, or, he heard the response to the IGN guy's question and ran out of ink in his pen or memory in his brain. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you games journalism.
  16. I don't know mate, it's all negative, negative, negative from you from what I've seen. Maybe I'm mistaken, I don't know. I'd question this story though. 1. What actual factual material is left here once you strip away the tabloid bullshit and rhetoric? 2. How does it contradict what has already been said? 3. Where are the probing follow-up questions? Why aren't they asked? At best, this journalist is remiss and of poor skill and value for his profession. At worst, he went in there seeking exactly what he got.
  17. @Dcubed. Sir. @liger05. It's free listing weekend on eBay. I knew you'd post this the moment I seen it myself. Not only is this the most churlish story I've seen in some time, it's also by Kotaku. Its whole existence is to, yet again, stir up the Nintendo click bait hate circle jerk bum love. Something was said for comedic purpose in a room full of people whose whole futures are reliant on expensive, powerful hardware sales. Great. They've already said UE4 is scalable to phones and if someone wants an UE4 game on Wii U, it happens. There's nothing to take from this bullshit only journalists have no limit which they can sink for clicks, and how easy it is to play on peoples lack of commonsense and reason. But we already knew that.
  18. Yeah I know, wrong time to get rid lol. Was just money, I wouldn't have able to afford all these great games anyway. I found I used it a lot for the web browser, which is pretty poor, and if not I always had my big power sucking PC on just for light web browsing and MSN Messenger... so I sold it and got a Galaxy Tab II. I absolutely adore my tablet though now and wouldn't be without it and the PC is hardly ever on anymore. One console is enough for any man I reckon ;-P but I might get another one if I'm flush.
  19. Was it Beats? Think it was...
  20. ZombiU patch live guys...
  21. Nope .. ..
  22. http://www.ipwatchdog.com/2013/03/23/manhattan-jury-orders-nintendo-to-pay-30-million-for-patent-infringement/id=37769/
  23. That is a good price. Devalues mine to feck now though.
  24. I think it's a gamble. If nintendo suddenly start advertising and people see games there they want, prices might stabilise. Unless Nintendo are completely feckless, I can't see them letting this situation carry on for much longer, not with Lego city and monster hunter sitting there now.
