Yay. I don't have to wait for Zelda in agony now. Day 1 purchase for Treasure Trove. Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

Bit of good news for me today. Fretting over how top get a Switch within a reasonable price for a long time, shipping from Play Asia was looking good, but missed out on the pre-orders, which must have lasted for all of 10 minutes. Went to a new computer game shop today, and recognised one of the staff who worked in an old CG shop during the Wii days. I've now secured a pre-order for a Japanese model (so the AC adapter plug is no problem), to pick up in store next Friday. Now, my fretting has stopped and I'm all aboard the Hype Train. Except I have to wait for Zelda: BOTW to be shipped from Base.com, cheaper there due to taxes being lopped off, so I'm hoping Snipperclips comes out sooner rather than later in March.

From their Official website;

At one point the user is scrolling through the Notifications tab, and it clearly shows he hasn't linked his Nintendo Account, maybe, probably not, but maybe by linking it, it will open up the hoped for friend list???
-
I'm just ecstatic that there's a language select, region select, etc, like the old DS. Truly region free consoles then. Means I can definitely get a Japanese one, and therefore a damn sight earlier and cheaper than importing. Yay! The Os is indeed slick, 2 weeks!
-
They may very well do a pre-install download before the release date for this, it doesn't happen for many titles in the UK, but this is the big one, so I assume so. However, Nintendo have never given dates out prior to when the pre-loading took place, a message from Nintendo themselves saying you can pre-load this now, just appears. Normally this occurs under a week before release date. Nothing from Nintendo on it, and there probably won't be either.

The Nintendo PR rep did, earlier, say you could have up to 8 users on a Single system, but who knows? Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk

That does happen on the Wii U at present, well it's more that all downloaded software is usable with all users, so let's keep our fingers crossed that Nintendo don't feel the need to change it.

Yes, a couple of weeks after the Switch presentation, a Kotaku USA interview with a Nintendo PR rep stated that “The Nintendo Switch system is not region locked, but we recommend that players buy games within their region to ensure full service and support. The user will access the Nintendo eShop that corresponds to the country identified in their Nintendo Account. (Up to eight user accounts can be created on a single Nintendo Switch system.)” said Nintendo’s PR rep." here So, you could create multiple accounts, one for each region, to take advantage of cheaper pricing and unlocalised games. Also, this just happened to the US eShop; now accepts non-US credit cards. https://www.back2gaming.com/news/nintendo-us-eshop-now-accepts-non-us-credit-cards/

Check out PlayAsia, they got some nice Japan only carry cases for reasonable prices http://www.play-asia.com/eva-pouch-for-nintendo-switch-red/13/70avz1 I quite like this one that forgoes length for depth; Edit: On other news, I've decided to get a Japanese Switch. If the OS language can't be changed to English, so be it. As long as I can use my UK eShop, which I know I can, then that's all that matters. Getting more excited now, that it's a March buy, not an August one for me.

Don't forget Animal Crossing. The online potential for that game is phenomenal, I'd be surprised if they'd have it out before Xmas 2017, but it would be the perfect time to drop it (along with the delayed phone app version for decoration, etc.)

But, Breath of the Wild can't be played with one JoyCon, can it? I don't think Nintendo will put a mandatory, all games ported to the Switch must be compatible with the minimum one JoyCon set-up. That would make a hell of a lot 3rd party games ineligible for support, and lots of Nintendo games, too. I can't imagine playing Skyrim, or BOTW, with one JoyCon, and I don't think the option to play it that way will be available. It sounds to me like the CodeMasters development guy is talking out of his arse. "Lack of input buttons??" Don't put a one JoyCon set-up in the game, problem solved.
