Really can't wait for this game. I've not read a great deal about it, but any multiplayer game by Valve is and instant must-buy for me Team Fortress 2 is my favourite game of the past few years and it has me insanely hyped for L4D!

Fair enough. Then again, Tesco is cheaper if you buy in bulk. 6300 points for £35.91, or £11.97 per 2100 points using the XX-M6QN voucher code. Then there's clubcard points and Quidco cashback @ 7%. So it's speed vs bulk cheapness (yes, i just don't like admiting defeat).

No idea what 360 games i'm getting yet, it depends what my mates are buying and how much money i have. Fable II, Banjo and GoW 2 are pretty much guarunteed, but the rest im not sure about. I'll get Fallout 3 and L4D, but possibly on PC (probably in the case of Fallout). Spore i'm still unsure about. Also: Rock Band 2/Guitar Hero: World Tour. Still not bought any new instruments, been waiting on this showdown before purchasing any RB kit. No Fallout 3 or Far Cry 2? Left4Dead will be out this year for sure, it's a PC game first and foremost and the PC release radar is nowhere near as crammed. It's also pretty much finished now, no reason for it to be delayed.

That's not true. They ARE monitoring your useage, but as yet there's no penalty for downloading illegally. All they will do is send a letter to the person who's name is on the bill asking them to stop the illegal activity. The ISPs are just trying to make the BPI think that they actually give a damn whilst protecting their own business interests (hence they won't boot your connection) and their customers (no details are given to the BPI, the letter comes straight from the ISP). The worst punishment you can expect from an ISP at the moment is them throttling your connection speed, though im pretty sure that only happens if you go over your download limit (because you're then costing the ISP money and affecting their profit margins).

PCI-e slots are the ones for graphics cards, PCI is for TV Tuners, Soundcards and the like. More complicated still, you need a computer with a PCI-e x16 slot to fit a decent graphics card. The x1 and x4 sizes are there to phase out PCI slots. But yeah, most salesmen in Currys et all will look at you blankly if you ask them about that. They'll then guess the answer, sell you the wrong product and deny any knowledge of having told you BS when you come back demanding a refund. Great people, eh?

You might wanna make 100% sure you can upgrade it too, i know a few people who have bought computers with intergrated graphics expecting to upgrade the graphics card only to find out there's no PCI-e slot (or the PCI-e slot is diabled, or the card that comes with the machine is glued in to the slot). It seems to be a crappy new method that system builders are using to force you to buy their more expensive models. I've seen the ATi 3870 for as little as £70, yet it can easily bump the price of a pre-built system up by hundreds of pounds! If you can only buy in store and are able to go to Bolton then Scan reside up there, pretty good computer store and they'll build you whatever you want. Their list of industry awards might appease your parents? Or there's Overclockers in Stoke, Micro Anvika in the Trafford Centre (although i know barely anything about them, just recognise the name from somewhere) and Micro Direct have a couple of showrooms in Manchester (i think these are just extensions of warehouses though rather than actual fitted shops).

I agree with Charlie. Apple aren't doing any better a job of patching the iPhone than other phone manufacturers do of patching their phones. It's completely unacceptable given the amount the phone costs and the amount of money that Apple get from it. The HTC Touch Diamond is patched faster, for free and by the community rather than by HTC themselves, it's very quickly becoming an iPhone beater because the iPhone remains a buggy slab of metal and plastic. I'm supposed to be getting one soon, i must say im dreading it.

Should Scotland separate from the United Kingdom?

You're a Geordie, you'd be too pissed to wield a sword, or build a wall :p I'm against the idea. On the plus side Scots would have more of a voice within their own land and within the international community. On the down side independance comes with a decrease in the international standing of Scotland and bad economical consequences for Scotland and the rest of the UK. It's not really an issue though, Westminster can simply edit the UK constitution to stop Scotland declaring themselves independant. If it comes down to it i'm pretty sure thats what will happen, the loss of standing (politically and financially) that would come about from independance would be disasterous for both sides. -

He's good if you know how to use him. Last time i was online i played a guy who was really damned good with him, i was literally sweating! It's really difficult to beat a guy who's attack roster is based on close-range counters when you're playing Maxi (i lost overall, must have played about 10 games with him though and it was fairly close).
