  1. Hurt my back again doing deadlifts a couple of weeks ago. Whenever I go above 110kg my form seems to break down. Oddly though I managed a 115kg deadlift the week before i hurt myself, maybe my back was still recovering from that. I love deads but maybe they just aren't meant to be for me. Maye I'll just stick to cleans and front squats in future.
  2. I think Cesaro will be fine, he's only been on TV for a year or so, it takes a while to make it to main event status. If he was getting a main event push now, it would probably be at the expense of somebody else push worthy like Ziggler.
  3. Probably a few reasons. As we know there's more to being a top guy than having good matches, it comes with a demanding schedule, not just all the shows but all the appearances and commercials, movies etc. Maybe Orton isn't up to it or doesn't want all that extra hassle and attention. Cena is more marketable and a better fit for WWE's sponsorships, he preaches healthy values and knows how to handle himself infront of a camera. Orton seems to have mellowed as of late but he's probably still more likely to lose his rag during a live talk show interview than Cena. Also there's selling tickets and merchandise, which Cena does more than most. I think more people pay specifically to see Cena than Orton. I could be wrong I think Orton's also a wellness policy violation away from the sack. I wouldn't say it was my favourite but Val Venis' was pretty memorable.
  4. I just did a random single rep of 115kg to see if I could get it and what it did to my form. I made the lift but I was panicing too much about my grip going to analyse my own form. It didn't feel like the bar got too far away from me though. To be honest I've never given too much conscious thought to dragging the bar up my shins and thighs. I know i have to keep it close but I would say the bar skims my shins rather than being pulled tight against it and dragged, so maybe I'm letting the bar get too far away too. It's probably close enough though, at least at this weight. When I set up I do start with the bar touching shins. When I take the slack out of the bar I engage my lats to tighten my back. This is probably helps keep the bar close, because as I take the slack out of the bar I'm actually pulling on the bar before I've even started to lift it of the ground using my legs. Once my back is set, I take a deep breath, tense my core, drive my heels into the floor, and stand up.
  5. I reckon you can still workout just don't do anything that any DOMS pain might comprosise your safety. As for me I just did deadlifts today, pulled 110kg.
  6. Deadlifted 90kg for 5 sets of 3 last workout. Slowly getting back to where I was pre back injury, no further back trouble so far.
  7. I enjoyed it, wasn't great top to bottom but was a good show overall. Zigglypuff cashed in the Raw after Mania. Sheamus is feuding with Sandow. Punk took some time off, he just retunred at Payack vs Chris Jericho and is starting a feud with ..... watch Raw. Taker had a few matches with the Sheild but they took him out and hasn't been around of a while. HHH lost to Brock at Backlash but is still involved on TV in an angle with Vince.
  8. You'll want some chilli for your wraps, maybe some beef some chicken, some spicy some less so. Might want a veggie option too. To drink what about Corona beer and tequila? when I used to get a bottle of Corona in the town they'd always drop a bit of lime in it, don't know if that's how the Mexicans do it but it does make it a little exotic.
  9. Ever since Bayern were linked with him I thought we'd be lucky to keep him for next season, I thought maybe the biting incident would have put the the big teams off, but for some reason I wasn't expecting Madrid to be the team to come in for him. As others have said Liverpool's is a sensible stance. We don't want to sell so if the high asking price puts clubs off then fine, if not then at least we'll have some serious funds to play with. It's a shame though as I was looking forward to a seeing more Coutinho and Suarez link up play. Replacing Suarez will be tough, he was a fairly reliable scorer who could create goals as much as he scored, and could do things all by himself if need be, like a poor man's Messi. I doubt we'll find anyone else quite in that mould with that kind of all round game. If Suarez leaves then it probably makes the Coutinho signing even better as we don't have too many inventive players of that quality.
  10. I was thinking the other day Kelly might be our new Carragher, not a glamourous position but I think he's one of our most promising young players. (I'm sure he'll end up at centre back evetually.) I also have high hopes for Sterling too.
  11. I agree, Kolo's not too shabby a signing for free. I'd like to think our transfer business will be a simple as you say but I don't think it will be. I agree less is more, but I'm sure we'll sign 3 or 4 slightly obscure youngish players that will probably never see the first team, and we'll probably sign them for a couple of mil each, which doesn't sound too bad, until we loan them out for almost their entire contract before we end up releasing them for free. I think Rodgers will respect Downings effort the last few months, but I think it will be a case of if he can get somebetter to replace Downing he will let him go. Personally I'd try to keep him, then if he doesn't get many games then think about letting him go in Jan or next season for his own sake. I know what you're saying, but we have a young centre back in Coates and I think a guy like him needs experience beside him, and we can't rely on Agger for that as he's quite injury prone. I see the Kolo signing as free experience, he's probably got a couple of seasons still in him and hopefully guys like Wisdom, Kelly and Coates will learn from him, the way I'd assume they would have from Carragher.
  12. I've got some Club Nintendo stars for swaps. NSMB DS and Phantom Hourglass. Phantom Hourglass should have expired but I still managed to register my other Phantom Hour glass points card earlier this week, so it should also work. I noticed the SNES pad isn't available at the moment.
  13. With all this talk of Super Metroid I too am considering downloading it (for the Wii), as I've never played it before. However I only have Gamecube controllers to play it with, as with Super Mario World is it unplayable due to the placement of the buttons? I hear you can alter the button config though, instead of B maybe Z would be a good choice for the dash?
  14. It is misleading name now but other than that I don't have much of a problem with the current set up of the Champions League. Arsenal might only be the 4th best team in England but they'd still probably wipe the floor with the half the champions of the other european nations. If it keeps the big clubs happy then good, because I don't want a break away European super league. I don't want to see the big games every week, and I like the randomness of which big ties we get each season. Also the fact that say AC Milan don't play Bayern Munich every season makes it more special when they do play each other. I do find it a bit ironic though that sometimes teams will play a weaker side in their Champions league ties to focus on gaining domestic league points, in order to secure champions league football for the following season. It's as though consistently being in the champions league is sometimes more important that actually trying to win it. Maybe it is all about the money these days. I genuinely suspect, if they're being honest, that the Wigan board would swap their FA Cup win to avoid relegtion.
  15. Today I managed to register points for Super Smash Brothers Melee (200) and Chibo Robo (250). Very surprised Melee still worked. Tried a few other Cube games but they weren't having it. A few "expired" Wii/DS codes still worked too, I think they were Wii Fit and Phantom Hourglass off the top of my head, if that's of any use to anybody with those codes still unused.
  16. Looked like it was in to me , I'm giving it to him, great 2-0 win today against QPR. I think so. We still lack the consistant ruthlessness of the tems above us but I think the squad is starting to shape up (if we can keep our key players), we look younger and hungrier. You can see the progess in some of the players, Downing and Henderson are probably now playing the best they ever have for us. Even Coutinho seems to be playing beyond his Inter form, and Suarez has becomes a prolific scorer despite missing chances to spare. Can't wait for next season, with the mangerial changes in Manchestrer and at Chelsea, it should be a more open title scrap, and while a title challenge is probably still beyond us but, a top 4 finish could be a genuine possibility next season. I fear for Spurs if they lose Bale, they would obviously replace him with the funds they'd get for him, but it would still mean altering a winning formula. As with us and Suarez if they're truly ambitious they should try to avoid selling, but ultimately I suppose it's up to the player.
  17. Apparently that was Benfica's 7th European final loss in a row! Don't blame them for crying. Anyway, well done Rafa!
  18. Just listened to the Austin vs The Fly episode of The Steve Austin Show podcast. Funny stuff. http://www.podcastone.com/program?action=viewProgram&programID=436 Strong language folks, it is Austin afterall.
  19. Same could be said for Guardiola too. Maybe it's better to leave on top, maybe the pressure is too great. I fel sorry for the managers that break their backs to get a club promoted against all odds, only to lose their job at the mere threat of being relagated the next season. I've often thought being a manager must come with a lot stress, though the managers in the top leagues all seem to be millionaires, so if I was one of them I'd be very tempted to just do a few seasons here and there, make my fortune and then get out, maybe then just do media work, or maybe nothing at all. Then maybe after a long break coinsider going back in, but only for the right job. If Fergie retires this summer I think Utd's long term dominance could be over. They'll still be a big club and challenging for honours but I think Fergie has perfected a winning formula at Utd that a new manager tinkering with it would struggle to improve on.
  20. I'm still amazed Bale used to be a left back.
  21. I think the ref saw it as a push on Carragher, bit soft though I agree. But Suarez's winner in the last game was wrongly ruled offside, so maybe things evened themselves out on this occasion.
  22. I usually do but not at the moment cus of my various injuries. I don't always train regularly at the moment, and I do I mostly just do stretches, planks, bodyweight squats and lunges, and occasionally push ups and sand bag carries if I feel up to it. (I really am a wreck at the mo, bad back, tight hip, and might even have slight arthritis or carpel tunnel syndrome.) I'm really only doing that stuff just to stay active so I haven't bothered tracking it. I've usually got what I did last time still in my head so I might try to beat that. I do agree though that for anybody training seriously planning and tracking is a good idea. And as well as setting goals for your next workout I think it's good to look back on your old workouts and see how far you've come, very motivating. I did't use an app or spreadshirt or anything fancy, just a basic doc file on my PC as I workout at home. As well as what I did, I often added little notes about the workout too which can be useful.
  23. You should tell those people what Mark Rippetoe said, “Strong people are harder to kill than weak people, and more useful in general.” Who wouldn't want to be harder to kill?
  24. Sweet result that, apparently Coutinho was the man, looking forward to MOTD. Not too bad for a "one man team."
  25. Don't they say you can't eat too many veggies? Maybe that's a good way to feel full. Also drinking lots of water throughout the day is supposed to help fill you and discourage snacking.
