Movie Universes That Should Cross Over!
Fierce_LiNk replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
Alien Vs. Predator does work and makes sense. I've got a few novels and read up quite a bit of info around that area. One of the books that I had "Prey" was actually pretty fantastic. It's just a shame that the movies didn't live up to not even a tenth of what the books had to offer. But, I can't understand how the Terminator fits into this series, or for what purpose. The Terminator is a story of man versus machine, an industrial story about machines trying to alter the future (the events of the present, to them I guess) by changing the past. You don't get a hint of any of that in the Alien or Predator storylines. In those storylines, there are similarities of an otherwordly creature stalking its prey either in a confined environment (The Nostromo) or in a South American Jungle (Predator). Two different environments, two very different creatures, but there are lots of similarities between the two. It seems random to add the Terminator. It doesn't fit, in my opinion. The series has a totally different set of values compared to Alien and Predator. Edit: Another one. 28 Days of Summer Cillian Murphy mets Zooey Deschanel, with Joseph Gordon Levitt as his love rival, who then gets infected by...the infected. They run through the streets of London over 28 Days, trying to escape Joseph and his army of living things. The soundtrack for this would be amazing. -
Happy Birthday Coolness. Your hair smells amazing. I want it. And You.

I think our stereotypes of the Spanish, Portuguese or Italians are of them either being greasy looking with dark hair, being sleazy and arrogant or of them being tall, dark, handsome love machines. With amazing hair. The stereotype of the Polish is that THEY TURK OUR JERRRBS.

How did you find out that santa wasn't real?
Fierce_LiNk replied to jayseven's topic in General Chit Chat
I never believed in the idea, as I thought the idea seemed a bit daft from the start. A man, travelling the world, giving presents. Whats in it for him? Joy?! I call bullshit. Now the tooth fairy was different. I remember being told some elaborate story about that, so I stayed awake for the majority of the night seeing if I could spot this fairy of teeth. I didn't. It wasn't until school a few weeks later where kids were talking about the fairy, and how it was all a lie. Them "The Tooth Fairy IS A LIE" Them "Its all lies!" Me: "Yeah, only idiots would believe in...that." Secretly crying inside. -
Movie Universes That Should Cross Over!

If we're allowed to cross ove video games with films, then I propose: Chibi-RoboCop. A miniature robot is killed whilst on a routine mission collecting happy points and is re-incarnated as a lethal law enforcer. Also: SuperMan on Fire. Denzil Washington leads a triple life as Clark Kent, Superman and as a bodguard for a child, who is then kidnapped. The Empire Strikes Back To The Future Han Solo's carbonited body travels forward in time to the future, where Marty McFly must then return it to the past, defeating Darth Vader and learning that he is actually his Father along the way. -
For what it is, MaxiMuscle is far too expensive. Its probably about a tenner more than it needs to be. Its good stuff, but expensive. Anyway, I'm off to Belgium tomorrow so I'll be out of gym action for a week. Just when I was getting into it! I wanna go now. Enjoy your protein!
-
That's pretty much what I'm after. Something with a good protein intake, good for recovery but easy on the carbs. Like you, I want to control carbs through food. The BodyFortress stuff I had from H&B in hindsight doesn't actually seem to be great with recovery. I do notice a difference between that and my current protein stuff.
-
The Evo seems to be a fair bit higher in protein, which is what I'm after. I think I'll go with that once my current lot finishes. Cheers for that. Really helpful.
-
Flavour wise I tend to go for strawberry stuff. But, with this sorta stuff, you're not usually drinking it for the taste but for "the gains", so the taste isn't a huge issue to me. I looked at the evo but then I saw a few comments saying that the Hurricane XS was better? It's really a toss up between all three. At the moment I've still got the maximuscle stuff but that stuff is really overpriced. Also Chair, Daft is right, it does work out quite nicely to get some protein shakes/powders. Otherwise you can be spending quite a bit on food-shopping.
-
This seems to be pretty good: Impact Whey Protein H&B was ok. The protein was reasonably cheap but I don't think I got anything amazing out of the stuff that I used. I don't know whether that was down to my diet or the protein itself, but it didn't seem to make a huge difference. Ah, I see. I'm really tempted to get one, as I want to really improve my pull-ups/chin-ups.
-
They're good exercises for your wrist, but yeah, not all that much you can do about the size. You can tackle the forearms and the upper arms, which will help the overall appearance of your arms. Question for you Daft, you mentioned a place before where you bought your protein from. Where did you get it from? Also, how much was it, as I remember thinking it was quite cheap? I used to get some body fortress stuff from Holland and Barrett but the particular one I wanted isn't being stocked anymore as far as I know. Also, that looks absolutely amazing! I want to get one. Does it literally just clamp itself into the doorway? Is that all?!
-
You won't really see a noticeable improvement for a good while yet. 2 weeks is a good start but it'll probably be more like 12 weeks/3 or so months before you start to see anything hugely different. To improve your wrists, check out this site: For Wrist Fun I've recently moved due to my new job, so I hadn't been gymming eet up since August, before the meet. And even then, I had a few weeks where I wasn't doing it because of my job. So, I've settled in and found myself a new gym. Loving it at the moment. I was given some free maximuscle protein stuff for joining up, so I've been using that. It seems to be helping me recover quite substantially, because I don't feel it as much the next day. I have also been upping my protein intake, trying to improve on the dietry aspect of things. I feel better in myself since I've been going, but I know it'll be a while before I'm truely into my flow again.

Fucking hell, that's horrible. As if the Pompey fans haven't been through enough already. Maybe there's some hope left, who knows. As for Rooney, I would love to see what happened as soon as he stepped in the room with his team-mates. Not sure how forgiving the fans will be either. He and his advisors have handled the situation poorly, in my opinion.

This sort of stuff blows my mind and my testicles, in that order. Or perhaps the other way around. Either way, both are blown to smithereens. I really do wonder if it does exist today. The possibilities.

Holloway look possessed during some of that video. He's brilliant. I watched the whole thing in awe. ITS WRONG. I thought he was going to shout (louder) or scream or even just break down in tears. Now that was passion. Seeing somebody rant like that about football...it's why I love the game. Lets see what happens next with this whole incident. As for the game yesterday, it looked like United were grabbing a goal and then just seeing it out without doing anything incredibly fancy. Hernandez looked great when he came on, as did Obertan, and it was lovely to see Evra back to his best. Three points is just what was needed. Not the best performance, but the points are what matters. Gareth Bale: I don't care who you are or how you score your goals, but to get three goals away from home in the Champions League is a great achievement. Also, the interesting thing is that this shows you the clear difference between Benitez's style and Mourinho's. If Mourinho were still there, then Tottenham simply wouldn't have scored any of those goals yesterday. He would have killed the game off completely, kept in control and let the clock run down. Final score would've been about 2-0 or something. With Benitez, it must have been quite nervy at the end for him. Giving away three goals at home when you are already leading is very, very clumsy. Especially to a team with 10 men.

I knew all that. I'm sure part of that is in the Alien Quadrilogy boxset (the interview I mean).
Apparantly he earned more in "royalties" for appearing dead in Alien 3 than he did for his entire performance in Aliens.
Also, screw you. Alien3 is a great film. It was fucked around with so much by studios and stuff, but its still awesome. YOU are a fucking travesty!

Right, so Rooney is apparantly leaving because he was not given any assurances about the future additions to the squad, or the club attracting players. How horrible it must be for him to receive all those dreadful assists from Nani and Valencia, or play with a midfield that contains Paul Scholes, or a strikeforce with Dimitar Berbatov or the newly acquired Hernandez. Valencia just joined last season, and Rooney owes a lot to him. Hernandez is a very exciting prospect. They also didn't cost the world, but they are exciting players who offer a lot to the team. When Nani has the ball, there's always a feeling something special will happen. I think he should worry about his own form and his own game. His lack of recent form is solely down to him and nothing to do with the squad around him. Nothing whatsoever. I wonder how these youngsters like Macheda, Hernandez, Gibson et all are taking this, because if the club did buy these expensive stars, then surely these guys would get less games.

Just to clarify, are you named after the Beatles' song? Or, did you post saying that you weren't named after that? It was one or the other. I can't remember which. The first one, I think? Also: Hoe Gaat Het?

Blackbiiiiirdd. I love that signature. Reminds me of the old site.

I don't understand why it's such a big deal when it comes to benching players. If a player isn't performing, and it is to the detriment of the team, then surely they should be replaced by somebody who is working hard for the team or playing well? There's too much focus on "big names" these days. In my opinion, no player is untouchable. You play for your place. There's no denying Rooney's talent, but it was completely the right call for him to be dropped on Saturday.
-
I'm a lifelong United fan. I don't really care which player is in that shirt, but when they're wearing it, they will get my support, as do the rest of the team. If any player says that they don't want to play for the club, then I would rather that they left. Whether that player is Gabby Heinze, Carlos Tevez or Wayne Rooney, if they want to play elsewhere, then play elsewhere. When you're wearing that shirt, the fans will always be behind you as long as you want to play for them. That pretty much goes for any club. Sir Alex did the right thing on the weekend by putting Rooney on the bench. It takes guts to do that. He's not performing, so why should he be guaranteed first place everytime, especially at the expense of somebody else who is in form and is performing. I do not understand why he wants to leave, as it is blatantly obvious that the club and fans care about him.

Happy Birthday You Daft Bastard! I dedicate my next bicep curl to you.

The Man United game was utterly shocking on Saturday. The first half was one of the best halves that the team has produced all season. But, another crazy five minutes of madness, and another two goals conceded at home. If this were an isolated incident, then nothing more would be thought of it. However, far too many draws this season, and how many from winning positions?! I said this during the Liverpool game where Gerrard levelled the scores at 2-2. This sorta thing would never have happened when Roy Keane was on the field. As soon as they concede a goal, the leaders on the pitch should be rallying the team forward and onwards. That hasn't happened this season. There's no clear leader. No one is taking charge and being the big man on the field. I feel sorry for the attackers, because two goals at home (or even away in most cases) should be more than enough. I feel sorry for the likes of Berbatov, Nani and Hernandez who were working their socks off all afternoon, and for the most of this season. It's about time the rest of the team started pulling their weight. The Merseyside Derby did cheer me up though. What a game. Everton completely mauled Liverpool in the first half, they wanted the ball at every opportunity. When Yakubu barged Skrtel out of the way, I knew that the Evertonians really fancied their chances. Really shocked at Roy's comments after the game, that the performance was good. Was it heck. Liverpool lacked width and didn't not push back Everton's fullbacks, or get the ball to the byline. It was all infront of Everton, they kept Liverpool narrow, put 10 men behind the ball and defended with ease. Edit: As for best striker in the world, the answer is quite simply Didier Drogba. When he plays for Chelsea. He can do everything, plus he is a big personality on and off the field. He gets the fans and the rest of the team going. The most dangerous striker in the world. Ramar is also right. Villa is a lot better than Torres. Torres has progressively performed less well as his Liverpool days have gone by. Is that down to him or the team, though? Hmm.

Wait, I'm with you on this one. I've hardly ever hugged my Mum or Dad, and I've neeeever done it to my brothers or sister. Hmm. We have issues.
