A copy paste of a battle facility with actual variety is completely different to a copy paste of what is essentially a bog standard Battle Tower. The Battle Maison is fucking boring, as was the Subway last generation, how have we ended up with less post game with each generation? And HG/SS had an insane amount of attention and care. They couldn't even be bothered to replace the Game Corner with an actual mini game like Voltorb Flip. And where's the Emerald components? HG/SS had lots of elements of Crystal thrown into the mix. ORAS will no doubt be good in their own right, but the wasted potential is infuriating.

Battle Frontier fully confirmed to not be in the game, the end game facility is the Maison copied and pasted from X and Y. Bravo Game Freak, fucking bravo. The main game looks good, but the post game looks like it is going to get very minimal extra hours from me and that's pretty disappointing.

It would seem the street dates are being broken in some areas and a certain journalist had to delete some tweets for accidentally breaking the embargo on certain post game content. Unless this is a huge troll, Battle Frontier didn't make the cut. Well fuck, I hope there's at least something like it and not just your regular old Battle Tower facility, it's insane that we haven't seen a variety in battle faculties since HG/SS

I wish someone would confirm or deny that Battle Frontier exists in some form. It's just got to be in, right? There's no way they would leave out the best feature from Gen III, especially considering the lack of variety in battle facilities in Gen V and VI thus far.

SNES Rainbow Road ffuuuuuuu so many bright colours! It's amazing! Just did a quick play through the new tracks and I'm definitely impressed, I can only hope that there are more packs planned beyond the next. No complaints about the content at all, just the minor niggle about the European pricing but that always happens. Curious to see what else changed in version 3.0 aside from Amiibo support.

Very much liking the look of the ExciteBike course, I really hope they have more non-Mario courses. I really think they should dub it Nintendo Kart or something in future so we can see characters and courses from other IPs. Just need to hope they do something about the unbalanced online and this could potentially be my favourite DLC ever bought.

Toys always look significantly better during the prototype phase, this was to be expected. What wasn't expected is just how awful some of these have turned out. Kirby's right eye is not centred. Marth has a very bad paint job. Peach is just.. wat. Link is getting some criticism but it's too early as there are few angles. There is some praise for the Donkey Kong and Mario figures though. I think Pikachu is looking fine personally but the picture circulating of it focuses on the stand rather than the actual figure. It'll be a shame, because Skylanders and Disney Infinity toys are similarly priced and, judging by the looks of Amiibo, are of much higher quality. I'm almost certain now that I won't be collecting these. I'm going Pit turns out fine because that was the figure I was intending to get at launch, but I may just play it safe and go with Pikachu.

A flashcart promising to run on any firmware of the 3DS is due to be released soon. The previous cart has had minimal impact as it only runs on age old firmwares, hopefully this wont lead to mass piracy but if it's going to circumvent region locking like the old card, this is going to appeal to a lot more people than pirates. EDIT: It's looking like it's just spoofing the games rather than booting into a rom selection, so this wont actually offer region circumvention like I had imagined

I'm not a fan either. Here's to hoping they do release Mewtwo as a separate, purchasable character!

It's funny that, because it's one of the very few things Microsoft did so right last generation and even they fucked up with implementing it into this generation.

If anything, I alluded it to being a technological issue due to their choice of network card, and the last thing Nintendo would admit to is the Wii U being underpowered considering that's exactly the reason most of the gaming audience doesn't see Nintendo consoles appealing.

That's all well and fine mate, but you're clearly inconsistent here. You used the bandwidth argument for Mario Kart 8 which, compared to Smash Bros, looks like the most mildly resource intensive software on the Wii U as it didn't need the high latency communication nor did it run in 1080p/60. So, now do you realise that you've effectively ruled that all your chat about the lack of voice chat for MK8 was complete bullshit? Or will you continue to be ignorant to just how much shit you chat? Man, typical Nintendo to take two steps forward and one step back. They drop the 1080p 60fps bomb, but then leave out the greatest social function multiplayer video gaming has ever had. As the saying goes, it's okay when Nintendo do it.

Very good direct, looking forward to playing in it December. Really disappointed in the lack of voice chat, it's bullshit. The only reason the Wii U would have a tough time with it is because the network adapter it uses is fucking dreadful at times, why not just limit it to those using a LAN adapter? Hoping Mewtwo gets sold as a separate DLC though, no way I'm picking up the 3DS version until the New 3DS is in my hands at the very least.

Packaged version coming to Japan this December. Arcade classics included: Space Harrier, Fantasy Zone and Outrun Mega Drive classics included: Shinobi, Streets of Rage and Ecco. Bonus inclusions: Space Harrier 3D and Outrun 3D from Master System. It's kind of at a budget price for Japanese releases, converts to just under £25 with today's exchange rate.
