  1. I found it very slow at the beginning too, but I think once I started interweaving the online experience whilst I took on the story, things started flowing a lot better. I didn't skip a single mission with the passes I obtained online though, felt like I might have missed something (which turned out to not be true). The end game content is all in the online functionality, and that's where it really needed a bigger population. The system of having drops exclusive to some missions and having the item be a low percent drop relies completely on enough people frequenting the online portion. But even after that, the affixing system for weapons isn't too deep so it's very easy to get the ideal weapon once you struggle through the resources needed to max out the level. The big winner though is the story and the direction of it. The characters are all very cool, the surveillance stance is very well conveyed and the restriction of freedoms throughout the thing is very well balanced. One of my favourite things out of it is Proppa, he's such a little shit of a mascot.
  2. Meaning to post in here for a while, so I have a few games to post about.. Freedom Wars When I initially saw this game, I had no interest in it. All I had heard about it, and this is probably due to the fact I was outside of Japan and no one in my social circle here or there owns a Vita, was that it garnered a bit of controversy for the internet multiplayer not being present and it was some Monster Hunter clone with a futuristic setting. Then October came around and my friend decides to run it for her gaming channel and I give it a look and it looked fucking amazing. Run around looking for a physical copy of the game that Sunday after launch, can't find it, so scramble for a used memory card and got it digitally. All I can say is, if you own a Vita and don't own this game, what the fuck are you doing? The story is very intriguing (though, without going into spoilers, it feels like there's supposed to be a continuation or I've missed something huge in the post-game), the music fits very well with the setting and dystopian nature of it all and the online gameplay is phenomenal bar the occasional connection error. The one thing I will admit as a huge fault is that the the crafting seeming seems very lacking and, for the later weapon upgrades, the requirements are a bit too ridiculous. An example is a certain type of item I need to upgrade my sword to a level near maximum. It's a rare resource, 5% drop rate, but on top of that it can only be obtained from a rare version of the occasionally distributed retribution missions. Retribution missions, once cleared, disappear from your mission list until the next time you obtain it or find someone online that is playing it so I basically gave up trying to get it to level 10. GAME in store sell it for £25 physically, so definitely pick it up. It definitely needs a sequel. Phantasy Star Nova After a good while waiting and getting slapped with customs charges and Parcelforce's utterly monstrous "holding" charge, this arrived in the post and damn, what a game. One of the biggest changes here is the fact that Nova drops the Diablo-style drop system and you now get resources from your kills, basically, Phantasy Star became a little more like Monster Hunter. It's set in the PSO2 universe, a ship from the Oracle fleet becomes stranded on a planet after sustaining a direct hit from something fired from the planet it was surveying. After you and some crew survey the local area, you run into some big ass creatures that have been mechanically altered and strapped to the teeth with weapons, and are dubbed as "Gigantes". You then have to build a little society for the awakened crew whilst minimising the threat from the Gigantes and trying to conduct research to get the hell off the planet, with repairs etc. One of the big things I was becoming intrigued about whilst playing it was the conflict amongst one of the characters and the captain in regards to how cold sleep is being utilised, but it just ended up being typical main protagonist angsty bull shit about not being good enough blah blah blah./ But the story is fairly good. There are quite a few twists and the story and history of the planet they crash on is somewhat in depth despite being in a somewhat short game. I would recommend this game should it get a localisation, which it most certainly will not due to Sega being Sega. Hatsune Miku Project DIVA F 2nd It's a vocaloid rhythm game, if you love rhythm games, you'll love it. One big issue though is that some of the songs in the normal difficulty category seem to be far more difficult than they should be, and I can only attribute it to some of the notes feeling very out of beat. Also cost me £25 thanks to the GAME sale over Christmas. -------- If you haven't got a Vita, I can't recommend it enough at this point in time. I got mine last summer for £135 with 10 digital games and a 16gb memory card and, though it's become a little more expensive than that now, it's still worth the asking price despite the still ridiculous memory card prices.
  3. Hoping to complete this at some point this weekend. I'm just not motivated to even reach the post game this time around, Delta Episode does not excite me at all. The lack of a Battle Frontier is just too much.
  4. ...Yet Apparently Shulk is all ready closed for preorders, fuck.
  5. This will never come to the EU, but thank god my Japanese 3DS is ready to save me!
  6. They've been selling for £80 and upwards as of late, but it's meaningless talking about this as I doubt I'll be selling and I doubt Nintendo will seriously let this situation continue.
  7. You must be mental to think that's a good offer given the going rate
  8. Apparently more retailers are saying the adapter is discontinued as well as the couple Amiibo. Nintendo is stupidly out of touch, but I have trouble believing they are this crazy to discontinue such a popular product. Not even used mine yet, so this can only be beneficial to me ifI decide to sell it. EDIT: Amazon Japan claiming to have new stock on the 22nd
  9. Has.. Any one else developed a gambling problem due to spectator mode?
  10. Okay, progress report! Started to realise where I may be going wrong, practised a little more but NOT on Final Destination versions of stages so I get some experience with the hazards. I'm primarily playing as ZSS so I've got a character I can compete with. Kicked ass at difficulty 7, then had some bad luck with the Masters at the end and quickly lost one stock, and then Master Giant turned up which confused the fuck out of me. Never faced him before, but didn't he appear at a higher difficulty in the 3DS version? I never played it, but I remember hearing it from the streams. Any way, percentage racked up near the part where I assume he turned into pinch mode and got knocked down to 6.5, very nearly cleared it without losing a stock but remained untouched for the last stock. Slowly getting a hang on things, need to learn more characters.
  11. Aaaand the Wii U locked up! That's a first, and a good hint to take a break
  12. I really am. I may have to try using the gamepad screen and see if I fare any better, because for some reason I am just doing awfully on Smash 4. I wasn't great at Melee, but I was competent.
  13. At least you can get that far mate! I just abandoned the last boss at 3.0 with Link, I just could not do it. I really have no clue why I'm struggling so much with this Smash when I was completely fine at Melee.
  14. It's an old TV but it's never caused me any problem for Street Fighter. Is there a mode similar to the challenges in SF where you have to pull off certain moves with certain timings in Smash? That's how I tend to learn how to play for fighters. I've managed to get to 5.5 intensity but that's it. I'm trying to make some visible progress, as Smash is going to be very limiting in what I can really do with it as a game if I'm doing this bad.. One thing is for sure though, I'm never going to do well at any mode that has more than four players. It's hard as hell to keep track of yourself!
  15. I'm actually doing so badly it's affecting my enjoyment I really don't know if it's my controller, but the times where double jumping fails to occur is really pissing me off. It's the leading cause of most of my deaths, and tends to happen a lot on the final boss if there's any clue as to what I'm doing wrong? Worked my way up to 5.0 intensity, but the boss knocks me all the way down to 3.5 each time.
  16. Man, I knew I was terrible at Smash but not THIS terrible. I'm having a lot of difficulties performing the Up B recovery, sometimes it just won't register when it actually should. Because of it, I'm doing fine until the final boss and losing lives and, therefore, bonuses. And I'm only at intensity 3.0!
  17. This, in combination with the Home Counties North depot being completely ramped (as I've heard on the grapevine), leaves me unsurprised it didn't arrive for me at least. May need to give the previously recommended stores a try. ShopTo aren't very competitive with their prices any more and I accepted the few pounds more to get things a little earlier, but they have been getting very slow lately, maybe growing pains?
  18. Consider that an automatic defeat on my part, I'm shit at Smash aha
  19. There is no reason to be so upset, I just find it highly amusing that the first one to cry about others getting their game before the street date is unfair would willingly do the same thing. But yes, life is a wondrous thing when you have a fully functioning memory that identifies patterns in the behaviour of others, and I would be slightly concerned if a common amusing element from each thread of a much hyped blockbuster is easily forgotten, especially when I've called you out on it before. But we'll end it there, I genuinely hope you're having fun with your game 2 days before the street date, I know all of us would do the same but without the crying when we're not so lucky. For example, my order has presumably not been dispatched! I'll be busy Friday, so I'll have to wait until Saturday
  20. Still awaiting my shipping confirmation.. Cmon, don't let me down now!
  21. It's the same old user whining about the same old thing. I remember it happening for some other games last year. CLAIM YOUR REBATES LADS
  22. Can't help but laugh at the hypocrisy here.
  23. Wow, wasn't expecting that! Guess the heavy discounting and game bundles really paid off (Well, we have no idea how much that affects the bottom line but it gets the consoles into homes). Great to see that the video game industry is still very much alive and doesn't appear to be dying as was thought during the Wii U launch period.
  24. So far, genuinely enjoying the game and screwing around with some of the new mechanics. Only got 2 badges at 7 hours (finished the Pokedex in 50 minutes ), with no Battle Frontier waiting for me I decided to play it nice and slow.
  25. I am fucking mad This is ACTUALLY in the game's code.
