Nintendo Switch Online: Game Boy / Game Boy Color
Ronnie replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Can't wait to play the Oracle games again, it's been so long since I played them they'll pretty much feel like brand new games. Also excited to give Kuru Kuru Kururin another go on the GBA, loved that game growing up. Sounds like there's more for NSO in the pipeline too from what Takahashi was suggesting. -
What's wrong with the logo exactly? Visuals of the game itself look great! I never played any of the Prime games so might be time to finally give this one a go!
-
Really excited for this! Shame no idea when it's coming out though.
-
There's a ton of new and intriguing stuff there. Game looks huge. And fantastic. PS: the visuals look a lot cleaner in the trailer above than they did during the presentation. Looks great.

Great Direct. - Tears of the Kingdom looks amazing, they knew they had to show lots of new gameplay and that's what we got. Still feels like there's one more big trailer left to come though. It was never going to be a longer segment than what we got. - Pikmin 4 also looks great. Fun and clean graphics. - After all this time, just a casual Metroid Prime shadow drop. LOL - Yoshi's Island course in MK8 looks great! - Nice to see Advance Wars lives. It was only a matter of time. - GB and GBA is a nice addition to NSO. Looking forward to playing the Oracle games again for the first time since they were released. - Loved Fantasy Life on the 3DS so will definitely pick this new one up. And a new Layton?!?! - DecaPolice looks pretty good actually, and I'm not normally into turn based JRPG type games. - Octopath 2 looks like a huge step up, graphically. - I know a ton of people love Fire Emblem and Xenoblade but it feels like both games show up in every single Direct so for me personally it was nice to see them limited to just a couple of quick headlines this time around. Overall, for a console that's nearing the end of its life (ish), B+ Direct.

Sorry I meant online retailers selling physical copies.
-
Metroid Prime 4 feels like a "the Direct after TOTK's release" kind of reveal. Feels a bit pointless to reveal it today.
-
For their bigger games, Nintendo seem to like to step the stage with full length but vague teaser trailers, and then reveal the main gimmick or hook of the game much closer to release, which is pretty much where we are atm. Think back to that pretty meaty Odyssey trailer at the Switch event, and then 6 months later showing us literally the main point of the game, Cappy and transformations. Same with BOTW, we had no idea about the towns, shrines, divine beasts, storyline etc until that January presentation.
-
Environment look great! Animation a bit less so but it never bothered me in Fallen Order. Looks like more of the first game just a bit better, which is fine by me. It's a relatively quick turnaround to get a AAA sequel out, so it was never going to be a huge step up. Hope the story is as good as the first one! Mate, The Bad Batch finale, Star Wars Celebration, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Mando S3 finale, Jedi Survivor, Visions Volume 2, and Tears of the Kingdom... all in the space of 6 weeks.
-
Or they could raise the price to £70 here. We just don't know yet. Even though BOTW was £60 on the eShop I'm pretty sure other online retailers were selling it for 40/50, so hopefully won't be a big issue.

Switch sales on the decline but Nintendo still dishing out pay rises
-
I imagine the stuff that isn't releasing in the first half is say, Pikmin 4, coming August/September. They could finally show off Metroid Prime 4, but would be weird to take attention away from Zelda (among the hardcore at least)
-
I'm expecting a 2 or 3 minute (at most) trailer for Zelda, revealing the main hook of the game. Maybe Aonuma talking about it afterwards for another minute or so, before saying there'll be more to come and to please be excited for that.
-
I've almost given up hoping for Silksong news, but I think this might finally be the place it shows up, with a release date. I could definitely see a Treehouse segment with a chunk of gameplay, but maybe not until next month sometime, so maybe you're right, around the 3rd of March. I might try and skip things if they go too in depth, the beauty of BOTW was discovering stuff on your own.
-
Always found it weird that their usual time (5pm UK) is like 2 in the morning in Japan.
-
Nice! Looking forward to Pikmin 4 and obviously Zelda. Not sure they'll do a big blow-out on the latter quite yet, but should be a proper trailer at least.
-
Nearly a billion Switch games sold. Wouldn't be too surprising if the Switch surpasses the DS and PS2 in a couple of years, maybe after a price drop. Still, fully deserved, fantastic console.
-
Getting fantastic reviews! 86 on MC at the moment. Main drawbacks are a few technical issues and enemy variety isn't great. Tons of fun and engaging content though, a good combat system and decent story.

You can definitely imagine Jack Black pulling a similar face. Still loving DK's new look. -

I feel like I’ve just rubbed skittles in my eyes but I love it! -
Thank you! Thanks for doing what I was clearly too lazy to do myself! Impressive list of directors then! Can't wait, less than a week to go. And speaking of, nice little hype trailer for the series as a whole
-
Old news, but list of directors Obviously delighted to see Bryce Dallas Howard back, her stock is through the roof with Star Wars atm. She got a huge spontaneous cheer at Celebration when her dad mentioned her name on the live stage. Also really happy to see Rick Famuyiwa directing, he was in charge of three of my favourite episodes of Mando so far, The Child, The Prisoner and The Passenger. They've all got a great, somewhat surreal tone to them. Can't say I'm familiar with three of the other directors. Surprised Favreau isn't back, but then again maybe not that surprised given he probably has a lot on his plate atm.

Nintendo Direct: The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2nd trailer - 29th November

Film is now releasing a week later on April 7th in the UK. Also yeah, not chuffed about that thumbnail, they're going to spoil every surprise at this rate. -
Two weeks is the minimum games will want to avoid Zelda I imagine! Personally I'm happy with the delay, the original release date was looking really busy with Mando on at the same time, Celebration around the corner and even stuff like the Mario Movie. Happy that things are a bit more spaced out now. I'm sure there'll be plenty to talk about at Celebration regardless! Oh and obv a more stable game with less bugs is always good. As much as I make fun of the now monthly Twitter jpg delay announcement, it's good when games take the time they need.
