I'll be there at 4am as I probably can't make the other two.

I think stock/manufacturing issues aside, Nintendo's in-game strategy for amiibo has been excellent, walking the line between not enough and going too far. Their cross-game use in particular was a great idea and really set them apart from the pay-to-play Infinity and Skylanders models.

Nice little added amiibo perk! I like the sound of all these customised Yoshi designs

Have to admit, I wasn't so sure strategy would play a big part in this game but having seen how many weapons types and abilities there are, I've definitely changed my mind. It's actually a bit daunting as someone who's only shooter experience is Mass Effect and Goldeneye! Certainly seems like Nintendo are experimenting with a drip feed approach the past year or so, definitely feels like it keeps interest up in the long haul. They could have done something similar with Captain Toad, release a new chapter every month, but then I suppose the issue arises as to how much the original game is worth, even if the updates are free. Makes me wonder if the rumours of Starfox being an episodic based game are true, I'd certainly welcome it. I think it would give better value for money than a game you can finish in a couple of hours in one sitting.

A thread about a bold new Nintendo IP that looks to be the most imaginative shooter in years, I'd settle for three consecutive positive posts talking about how great the game looks, never mind a whole topic of sunshine and rainbows.
-
It's the constant dragging down of topics by people who aren't interested that just annoys me. It happens all the time, Wii in the amiibo thread, kav in here. Just never-ending negativity that repeat the same point over and over, arguments go round in circles. If you're not interested in a game, fine, we get it (dear god we get it), just let people who are interested in it, enjoy the thread. You've said your piece kav, over and over and over. Accept that this is the way this game is, and move on.

A brand new Nintendo IP, unlike anything we've seen before and all some people are interested in is bitching. Zero comments about how fantastic the gameplay itself actually looks, but then that's nothing new for this thread. I just don't get it. Anyway I think the Nintendo strategy in the last few years has been to support games post launch and keep interest in them high for as long as possible. This is just another example of that. There'll be plenty to keep people occupied with the game day 1, and from then on we'll get updates every week or two.

Nintendo & DeNA Business Agreement - Nintendo on Smartphones
Ronnie replied to Serebii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Five titles between now and March 2017 is a bit of a relief. Clearly going for quality over quantity, which is nothing new for them really. -
Really enjoying this actually, far more than that I thought I would. Cleared the first two worlds, the fan service to Mario fans is great and probably what's keeping me interested. I still get the impression I'm stumbling through without any strategy or much insight into building teams and so on, but still liking it. There's a moment when the match 3 concept clicks in your head and from then on you can chain some massive combos.

Nintendo and Online Gaming. What's The Deal?
Ronnie replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
There's plenty of content in Captain Toad, you refuse to play it so are in no position to judge. Splatoon is getting "half its content" for free, so your argument about its relatively low price makes no sense. So gracious of you to give the demo a chance though. -

Bluray may be cheaper than cartridges but the amount of work that goes into a game is increased ten fold between N64 and Wii U. I just think we have it very lucky with the price of games. Unless you're a tight arse obviously who watches his pennies I think it's a shame that the RRP seems to be getting lower. -
Wii taking potshots at Serebii about the most trivial things doesn't help either.
-
I was just expecting something far more earth shatteringly negative given how Serebii described it. I think referring to that Iwata quote is unfair, they're not holding anything back nor are they charging for updates (which I appreciate you've remarked already). Obviously they need this out quickly. It's a shame but it sounds like they're making up for it with a huge amount of post launch content.

Just opened my third amiibo, Megaman. Love it, he Toad and Toon Link look great next to each other. [/grown man]

There aren't enough facepalm memes to accurately reflect Wii's pointless bull$hit on this page. Rarely has he been so cringe-worthy. Well said.

Nintendo and Online Gaming. What's The Deal?
Ronnie replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's a bit sad how we expect games these days to cost £35 at most, which is the lowest they've been for generations, even though the amount of work and effort that goes into today's modern HD games is far greater than it's ever been. Everything else suffers from inflation, except games it seems. -
Just watched the Direct, amazing. Some of those newly revealed sub and special weapons look great fun. Can't wait for this game. Not sure what the thing @Serebii mentioned that was supposed to have us tearing our hair out was. The friends swapping sides at random thing? Meh, does anyone really care? Yeah it sucks the game is incomplete at launch, but it'll keep interest up with new updates every week or two. Looked like there were a lot of new maps to come as well. Post launch content looks massive. Nice idea having the retro arcade games during waiting screens. Having the demo timed and windowed will stop players burning out on the game before they even buy it.

I'm quite enjoying this but I just can't be bothered with the ally management or manually leveling them up. What's the point of always picking up new Lv 1 allies, why wouldn't you just level up a smaller group of them?
-
I thought Destiny didn't have its first raid till later?
-
Isn't this how most of the big online shooters operate now? Destiny, Titanfall etc? As long as there's some online multiplayer from day 1 I don't see a massive problem.
-
Yep this and Kirby both arrived with regular post

Just tell us @Serebii and stop willy waving
