  1. I know, wrong choice of words. I'm just saying I think they'll sell more consoles making it an ultra cheap Nintendo box than an expensive one that directly competes with PS4 and XBO.
  2. Thanks for letting us know many times in the past.
  3. I think if they make it ultra cheap, maybe a bit better than Wii U's technical specs, they'll sell a lot more than they would if they tried competing in an arms race with Sony and Microsoft. It's clear they want a family friendly price point. Throw in a much better flow of big name games (which would explain their poor E3 showing), and the rumoured "carry on playing the same game on a handheld" gimmick, and they could be onto a winner. At least in terms of it being a second console to most gamers.
  4. Lovely artwork, I wonder if this will be out this year.
  5. Would the Wii U have really sold much more if it was as powerful as the PS4 and capable of playing Arkham Knight or Tomb Raider? I don't think so. Nintendo fans would buy it regardless but hardcore gamers interested in those franchises would more than likely opt for a Playstation or Xbox. I don't know anyone who buys a Nintendo console to play the latest AAA games. People buy them to play Nintendo games, and whatever bonus third party support is just that, a bonus. They clearly aren't interested in a technical arms race anymore and put that together with Miyamoto's comments about the Wii U being too expensive leads me to believe they'll go much cheaper this time around. Considering the industry has clearly moved on (sadly) to the Xbox and Playstation for the big budget titles which people seem to crave, I can see Nintendo positioning NX as a cheap second console for a lot of people. Get them into as many people's hands as possible. If the install base is there then third party's will come back into the fold.
  6. I can't see them matching the PS4/XBO in terms of power, it would be too expensive and would rule out people picking up a Nintendo as a second console. NX is going to be cheap I reckon, get it in as many peoples' hands. Great games, cheap price. Nintendo have proved you don't need the latest tech to make games look and play stunning. (ignoring Star Fox and Animal Crossing). That combined with the rumoured two devices working together could be a great prospect with lots of potential.
  7. "I" considered that the appropriate time and place. Discussion doesn't need to be pigeon holed and so insular. You obviously disagree.
  8. Why not? It's my major gripe with the gaming industry. It's an appropriate comparison and sheds positive light on the Wii U, something I'm keen to do in a thread full of criticism.
  9. Ok then. Next time I'll say "I disagree the games all look the same, what they all do look is colourful and fun. IMO. Let's try comparing them to the main competition in the industry. This graphic of PS4's major games shows how depressingly samey and similar games CAN look"
  10. It was deserved when someone says every Wii U game looks the same.
  11. Comparing the Wii U to the competition is just another way of discussing the issue. The point I was making was pretty clear I thought. Discussion doesn't need to be so insular, the Wii U has had hundreds of pages of criticism, comparing it to the rest of the big name gaming landscape doesn't deserve the flack I received. It wasn't an attack on PS4, it was a comparison.
  12. The other problem is ultra sensitive PS4 fans who feel the need to defend and kick off at the slightest amount of criticism towards their beloved console. No negative comments of any kind are allowed, unless they're against Nintendo obviously.
  13. I've never once seen Ashley be all "I run this place, so I am right, you are wrong". On the other hand I agree with this part
  14. No the main focus of the game isn't online, it's a single player campaign with a bonus online mode. Maybe, Nintendo aren't promoting it because it looks terrible? Not to mention they're busy promoting their own excellent shooter.
  15. They clearly focus on the big multiplayer games for their heavy advertising: Smash, Mario Kart and now Splatoon.
  16. It's a new first party IP, a fresh new concept on the oversaturated shooter genre, of course they're going to advertise it. Just like they advertised Smash and Mario Kart 8, other competitive multilayer games with a huge potential market and that are being supporting long term with DLC.
  17. The Wii brand which sold over 100 million units is 'toxic', and the DS name which sold 200 million combined should die. Interesting viewpoint.... I do however agree a fresh start would probably be a good idea at this point.
  18. That was quick getting a replacement! Credit to Nintendo for the restocks, seems there were more today. Still no Villager though, hopefully next week.
  19. Just watched IGN's Rewind Theatre, it seems that Star Fox Zero isn't the only game that would look at home on the Gamecube. Is this really the best they can do?
  20. He would have been the only person in that thread if only people who disliked amiibo could post. I have an interest in them therefore didn't see it as unreasonable to post. He goes on and on about how much he hates them yet stirs the regular Amiibo thread looking to start arguments.
  21. Great post, particularly the part about (not) posting in game threads you don't like.
  22. Ignoring the poor attempt at impartiality in your post, I take issue with this part in particular. I wasn't falling back on anything. I posted a graphic that showed off the Wii U's best looking games. Happenstance commented that they all looked alike and there was no variety. I then commented on the supposed "variety" of the rest of the industry, by way of comparison. The only thing that gets proven wrong time and time again is the never-ending suggestions from the majority that the Wii U only has platformers.
  23. Nintendo fans on a Nintendo board are taking away from your enjoyment of discussing things, ok. Personally what takes away my enjoyment of discussing things on a Nintendo board is opening up threads every day and being met with pages upon pages of criticism and negativity. Positive posts that show off a console in a good light get turned into another opportunity to criticise and ridicule. It's just not a very nice place environment to converse, apart from the game threads, which can be a pleasant experience if Nintendo get the game 100% spot on. To be clear, I'm not saying people can't criticise and voice their frustrations, but it pretty much feels 24:7 on here at times.
  24. Aha, so basically, it's the Nintendo fans that are in the wrong, you guys are in the right. Is that what you're saying? The accusation of people getting too defensive could just as easily be labelled at the PS4 crew jumping down anyone who dares criticise their console's library.
