Who said anything about criticism of Nintendo being shouted down on here? If anything the opposite is true. Go for it all you want, the 447 pages on the Wii U thread are a clear indicator that it's absolutely ok to do that. But when the same unfair criticism gets repeated over and over again, don't be surprised if some want to present an alternate pov.

Does this game consider finishing with 100% health an achievement like it did in New Island? That wound me up so much. Actually the missable nature of the collectables did in general in that game.

No worries point completely taken, I realise I need to be less confrontational in my posting habits.

I went through a dozen pages on amazon and barely found anything of interest, sadly. The majority are either shooters or openworld games. As for your last point, I don't lash out at other consoles because I feel slighted by people's impressions of the Wii U. That would be stupid. I lash out because AAA gaming is so f-ing boring these days and it makes me sad that it only seems to be Nintendo and indie developers who can offer different, innovative experiences.

I didn't take it to heart enough to report it at the time, it's not a big deal, I just ignore him (not literally) these days. It was passive aggressive of me to post that PS4 screenshot graphic, I felt it made my case pretty well but you're right, I could have phrased it better. It winds me up that the gaming industry is dragged down by people like Wii. I direct my criticism to the things he says, not the person himself, no one else apart from Serebii seems to challenge his posts. He genuinely looks for things to complain about, even if that means scraping the bottom of the barrel like the lack of hardware colours the Wii U comes in or how much memory is in an amiibo. I'm planning on buying a PS4 in the coming months, and had a browse through Amazon's PS4 games a couple of days ago. It depressed me how every game looked more and more like the last. The lack of variety was astounding. It almost made me reconsider getting one but then I thought about the indies and games like No Man's Sky, Firewatch and Rime.

I've had plenty of conversations about why I feel AAA gaming on the other consoles is samey. You get shot down for it. The Wii U only has platformers though and no variety at all. That opinion obviously gets a pass.

You're probably right that my apologies mean nothing because in this case I have nothing to apologise for. I did nothing wrong pointing out how laughably samey the PS4's library is. My attempt to drag some positivity into the thread was met with a 'the games look identical' from you and yet another trolling post from Sheikah trying to rile me up (@Rummy). The challenging Wii on his posts, I agree that's wrong of me. But my defence of Nintendo is nothing to apologise for and certainly nothing that's ban worthy.

Your post was mostly about the lack of variety. It was phrased like "whilst they do look gorgeous, they all look the same." I didn't see a problem bringing up the rest of the gaming industry as an example. My issue was criticism Nintendo get doesn't seem to be directed anywhere else, even when it's 100% justified. I don't mean just on this board, I mean in general. As I said, I apologise for veering the discussion off on a tangent but my original post was meant to get some positivity back into a thread plagued with nothing but criticism. It then had the opposite effect.

No personal abuse would be a good start. I apologise for telling someone (who tbf called me far worse) to fuck off (in the end). Maybe have a word with Sheikah as his language and confrontational nature can be pretty vile. I also apologise for bringing the PS4's library up when someone said the Wii U's library was too samey.

I don't care about one upping anyone, the Wii U gets criticised every day on here from all comers including people who have no interest in Nintendo. I'll discuss my views on the console and how it compares to the competition and don't feel I need to be called out for it.

So it's ok to make fun of the Wii U on other consoles threads but we're not allowed to bring up PS4 or XBO on a general Nintendo discussion thread ? I wasn't focusing on the PS4 and criticising it. I was giving us an opportunity to compare. It really wasn't that big a deal. Me bringing up the lack of variety on other consoles wasn't focusing the discussion on PS4 it was providing another view into the discussion about console libraries. It then struck a nerve and things kicked off.

Come on, it got brought up a hundred times before I decided to compare the consoles' libraries. And when certain people don't troll the Nintendo boards looking to stir.

I was scathing in my opinions on Nintendo's E3, it was a disaster. Doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to defend them against unfair (and endless) criticism on other things.

Yep, it's ok to say the Wii U has nothing but platformers (over and over again) but you'll be torn to pieces for suggesting that the other two consoles are shooter-focused.

I think it'll be nice having a hub world of sorts, even if there isn't much to do it in. I found the level select screen of New Island to be pretty off-putting, oddly enough.

There are reasons though. The whole chat about AAA games being samey and shooter obsessed a number of months back was all part of the discussion at the time. I also don't think there was anything wrong with comparing the Wii U's variety of games to the competition when the subject was brought up, and not by me I might add. I was called a tool the other day by a mod, naturally @Rummy ignores it. Just as he ignored other people riling me up about the voice chat issue, but banned me for doing the same in response. Retro and I have since kissed and made up, but it's again typical of how this board is run.

What are you talking about? When do I ever get abusive towards another poster, apart from the above. You said things would kick off, get ugly and get personal, forgive me for assuming it was ok to tell someone to personally abused me to fuck off. Go into any Wii U or 3DS game threads and you'll see me contributing to the discussion, I love the games and I come on here to discuss the games, and defend them if necessary. I'd be interested to hear your view on

No they just get ultra defensive when they're brought up here instead.
