  1. I don't understand how more content is a bad thing. It's just bizarre. We wanted another game on the same engine and whilst this isn't as large scale as that, it's still more, optional, Zelda. Complaining about hard mode locked behind DLC, fine (even though the game is apparently hard to begin with), but more content to an already enormous game for a bit more money? I don't see what there is to complain about that. This is Nintendo, the game that's out on the 3rd is going to be in no way feel incomplete. Are people calling Uncharted 4 incomplete because of the story DLC they just revealed? No. Extra, optional content, for a game you love is absolutely be a good thing. No. Playing a side campaign as Zelda, as an example, would not have had to be in the original game. They're working on this post-release. After development had concluded, so no, it isn't something that "should have been in the original game" I really wouldn't get your hopes up in terms of the number of dungeons this game has... 8 would be the correct design for the original game. 1 would be the correct design for the additional campaign. The former is designed for 8, the latter is designed for 1. You're mistaken. £48/£60 for Breath of the Wild, the same as any other AAA game out there. £18 for an optional bit of side content, if you enjoyed the main campaign. There's nothing "greedy" about that. The cost of a brand new Nintendo console that will be around for years doesn't factor into this equation. Unless of course you never plan on buying another game for the Switch and only intend on playing Zelda on it.
  2. I think it's supposed to be one expansion, with one cost, released in two parts because the new storyline will take time to complete.
  3. It's disingenuous to suggest we're paying £20 (18 actually) for things they've presumably already have developed like the hard mode, without mentioning the real meat of the DLC which comes later.
  4. You're paying £18 primarily for a new storyline, a new dungeon, a boss/enemy rush Cave and a few little bits and pieces on the side. The former will take longer to develop, so they're releasing things in multiple packs.
  5. They have the new storyline and new dungeon already finished? Where did they confirm that?
  6. I wonder if the new story will let us play as Zelda, if they're worried about releasing a whole game about that, a bit of DLC would be the way to go to test things out. New challenges sounds like extra shrines in addition to the new dungeon.
  7. I could see it happening. They brought back that Mario 64 level back in Galaxy 2 after all.
  8. Board game mode confirmed? Just the sort of thing the game needs really.
  9. Thank you. My point was big publishers abandoning it and Nintendo creating hardware that allows for both innovative local gaming and online. Can you play the likes of Enter the Gungeon, Spelunky, Guacamelee, ResoGun online or is it local multiplayer only? Those, and most of Daft's list, are all primarily single player experiences with tacked on multiplayer anyway.
  10. Switch does have both. An industry leading local multiplayer and a likely good online set-up.
  11. Apart from a couple of hours on Rocket League I don't think my flat mate and I have ever played local multiplayer on PS4. There just isn't really anything to play in that sense. Nintendo clearly see a niche in local play and are the industry leaders in that sense. The Switch even goes a step further and lets you take local multiplayer on the go. It's brilliant.
  12. Who knows. I'll wait until more details come out before judging. I wouldn't have thought a standard definition console when HD was taking off would do well but the Wii proved me wrong. Likewise who expected the 3DS to demolish the much more powerful Vita? I've no problem with complaints and sharing said complaints, but when it's the 17th time the same person makes the same argument... Nintendo aren't going to be the online-focused powerhouse you want them to be any time soon.
  13. So one dud and they now "haven't the foggiest"? What? Firstly, you're incorrect but more importantly why does that matter? Everyone says the hardware is fantastic, regardless of them liking Nintendo or not.
  14. Interesting, given that 99% of people who actually went hands on with the Switch absolutely love the hardware. Great hardware + great games doesn't = a disappointing gen to me. I suspect you may have said or thought the same before they released the 100+ million selling Wii, the 150+ mil selling DS and the 65+ mil selling 3DS.

How far can you stretch punches, kicks and throws in any other fighting game? If you look below the surface there seems to be a ton of depth to this game, and they've hardly revealed much yet. Mix and match arm load outs, special moves, teleportation, energy recharging, throws etc.

This is being made by the Mario Kart team. I like how Nintendo gave them a brand new IP to make, while MK8D tides us over for a while. Hopefully the same will happen with Sakurai if we get a Smash 4 enhanced port.

I love the art style of this game. They need to do the Smash/TF2/Overwatch thing where they release little story trailers per character in the lead up to release.
  18. I liked the Pilotwings mention, I'd love another entry. The 3DS one was good but a little bland
  19. Snake Pass Trailer from back in September They just did a Twitch stream today (starts around 20:00), which they confirm is running on the Switch (25:45) https://www.twitch.tv/videos/120840159
  20. Nicalis president calls Nintendo Switch by far easiest platform to develop for; have way more games in development. http://www.polygon.com/2017/2/9/14554702/nintendo-switch-indie-friendly-binding-of-isaac-nicalis-tyrone-rodriguez
