  1. Nintendo obviously have data on how many people use their web browsers, and it must have been a very low number. If I'm out and about I use my phone. I don't want to take my Switch out, connect to a wifi hotspot and then browse. As for Netflix, meh, I have about 4 other devices that has it. I'd much prefer a simpler, faster OS with the potential to add apps later.
  2. Yep, there's spoilers galore out there at the moment. It's getting very hard to resist...
  3. Yes back to Yooka-Laylee, back to our discussion on the visuals. Not to my personal tastes but fingers crossed the visuals elsewhere are better. I think it's a little odd they don't seem to have shown off many levels give the game's out in a couple of months. Hopefully there's lots of variety.
  4. Zelda, Splatoon 2, Arms, MK8 Deluxe, Xenoblade 2 and Mario Odyssey all in the space of ten months sounds pretty good to me from a first party perspective. They'll all be great to amazing. That's also not including any unannounced games yet to be revealed, of which there will be at E3.
  5. Sure but my point was, strip away all the nostalgic touches from 3D World and you're left with a great game. Strip away the nostalgic touches from Yooka-Laylee and I worry you're left with a "My First Unity Project". We'll see, I hope I'm wrong. It just feels like this game panders to nostalgia without modernising, like they took the good AND bad from the N64 era. Another nostalgia-fuelled experience, Shovel Knight, borrowed from the past but threw away things that didn't work, as our hero Mark Brown talks about in one of his recent videos. Sure the annoying sound effects remind people of Banjo, but is that actually a good thing?
  6. The same reason you spent [wasted] time talking about an online service you don't like, because that's what people do on a discussion board. Visuals are really important to me, not in the sense that look how technically amazing Horizon looks but whether a game is good looking or not (eg: Captain Toad or Zelda BOTW). Just to point out though, my main problem with how this game is shaping up is that I think the gameplay seems very dull, which was the original point I made yesterday, before we got onto the visuals.
  7. If someone wants to criticise a Nintendo games visuals, feel free. The point you're referring to was criticism at them using the same style over and over. Not the visuals themselves. If people actively dislike the visuals of a game, that's their prerogative. I criticised Yooka-Laylee's visuals once and was told to stop shitting on the game. That is in no way a discussion! It's indicative of the casino level though which was the subject of discussion at the time, given the level had just been revealed for the first time. You mean like this...? and then got this nonsense as a reply
  8. I think this is going to get torn to pieces in reviews.
  9. What? I think the casino level in this game looks ugly. If someone wants to suggest Nintendo games are ugly, feel free. This is a discussion board and I'm sharing my fears about this game and the reason why I may cancel my pre-order. The real point is, criticism of Nintendo is fine, dozens of posts every day complaining about them, but when someone dares to question anything non-Nintendo all hell breaks loose. I think it's ugly as fuck. The colours, the (lack of) lighting, everything about it. Your Aladdin screenshot is a completely different case. The colours are lovely, the drawing is nice, it's not ugly, just poorly timed.
  10. No joycon grip that comes with doesn't charge them, if you want to charge them outside of the main console you need the £25 grip Joycon grip compared with Xbox One controller
  11. I was commenting on the lighting, colours and shadows, those don't need resolution to be critical, but ok. Apologies for not putting a 1080p screenshot up. The quality of that video is very poor at times though.
  12. No. I was responding to someone who compared it to games made by Nintendo in the first place. Easier to have a go at me though I guess. I could have picked any screenshot from that demo. The first one was literally the first place I clicked. It's incredible isn't it. A couple of posts criticising a non-Nintendo game and all of a sudden there's uproar like
  13. Some nice ads in Japan The last one is Zelda and a bit spoilery. I mean no spoilers as such, just a shot at the end of Link with Zelda we hadn't seen before. Also, spoiler: the game looks f-in beautiful (as do the other two above tbf)
  14. Great idea if this turns out to be true https://mynintendonews.com/2017/02/07/rumour-joy-cons-will-be-able-to-charge-the-nintendo-switch-when-attached/
  15. Netflix and a web browser I definitely don't care about, I have a dozen bits of tech that cover that, but it would be nice to have some sort of Streetpass style app in there somewhere. It was a really useful feature and basically gave them free advertising giving people a reason to take their 3DS outdoors with them.
  16. Really interesting interview, thanks for the link
  17. They didn't say it was from an old build, they said the video didn't go up as intended it "didn't really offer the full picture of the level". Sounds like they chose the wrong chunk of gameplay to put out, or something like that maybe.
  18. The game has gone gold, and that's a new just-released video so that's as good as it'll get. I didn't scour the video and pick the worst screenshots I could find, I literally clicked anywhere and capped what I saw. Nowhere do they suggest it's an old video or from an earlier build of the game.
  19. You attack me out of the blue, and then have the balls to call my complaints about the visuals "disruptive". You're the one who's derailed this thread, not me. This is the Yooka-Laylee thread, I backed the game so was obviously interested in it, forgive me for sharing my complaints about the visuals on a discussion board made for that sort of thing.
  20. Your first contribution on the last page was a snarky attack, so you're in no position to talk about stifling discussion. It's not my problem if you can't stand criticism of things you like.
  21. Ronnie

    Rime

    Looks pretty good
  22. What's not to love. Who needs lighting, shadow, a tasteful colour palette, decent geometry etc
