Yep, that's the scenario I'm rooting for too...
-
Maybe a deal with Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo? Or the opposite: still negotiating with one or more of them? Who knows, but you're right, it happens a lot to both Wii U and PC...
-
Could be, but don't forget they haven't yet confirmed PC either. But the fact we are already suspecting that, says enough about our expectations, right? For me, it would be a bonus as I prefer the AC games on my Wii U actually.
-
Yeah, well, Ubisoft is rumored to develop two AC's at the same time. One for PS3, X360 and PC, codenamed Comet, and one for PS4/XB1 codenamed Unity (not to be mistaken with the other Unity ) If Wii U misses out on Comet, then I think future Ubisoft support is over for the time being. If Wii U only misses out on Unity, that wouldn't be a shock to me...

Do Nintendo still have what it takes to produce hardware?
markderoos replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Ok, fair enough. Personally I thought that promise for third party support was exaggerated from the beginning. With all respect, if you want to play more third party games, I wouldn't bet on your Wii U to deliver. I've had a PC next to my Nintendo consoles since the N64 days and always had to rely on that for my third party kick. But I can understand your frustration as they did say there would be more support.... -

Ok, so what you're saying is, when it comes to second screen gameplay, the Wii U is capable of the exact same stuff as the rivaling consoles. But WITH a gamepad with buttons and extra technology as an extra? So that must mean that you are just not fond of assymatric gameplay? Or at least not fond enough that you like that the Wii U is build around that idea? As soon as Playstation joined the console market, third parties jumped aboard. The Playstation philosophy was always aimed at getting as much third parties aboard as possible. From that moment Nintendo never got a lot of third party support. That's not something only happening this generation. Nintendo builds their software around their hardware, and try to swim in the blue ocean. Third parties develop for the mass market. The mass market is the red ocean. Isn't it just that simple? -

You are aware that with (for example) Assassins Creed 4, the Wii U version also makes use of the companion app? So that means triple screen So the advantage of a seperate device isn't an argument against the Wii U. It counts for all consoles, including Wii U. But meh, Gamepad, you like it, or you don't it seems This discussion isn't going anywhere but round and round... -

I don't think that's true, just like I said in my former post. Could you explain to me why you find a PS4-iPad combo to be an alternative for Wii U while playing a concept like Luigi's Ghost Manion or Metroid Blast on Nintendoland? I just don't think that's possible on the same level (yet). And even if it would become possible in the future, I don't think gamedevelopers would risk making such a game on those platforms. -

I don't agree with you on this part. For example an iPad - PS4 combi can't recreate the Luigi's Mansion/Metroid Blast gameplay, can it? That's why I keep saying Nintendo need to show more examples of these gameplay elements and within more IP's aimed at core gamers. -
Is that his official Twitter? If so: But a very funny joke indeed :P

Ah, I'm sorry, perhaps I wasn't clear with what I meant to say. I meant: game developers take no risk when they develop a game with comprehensive second screen gameplay on Wii U. Simply because every Wii U owner bought that device included with the console. Nintendo already took the risk when they launched the Wii U. When developers create a "second screen game" for PS/XB they rely heavily on consumers with a third party device (iPad, smartphone, other). They don't know for sure if PS/XB gamers have those/want to use those already. What you see as a result: developers don't dare to take a risk with gameplay, instead they choose for optional extra enhancement in the form of (for example) companion apps. About the optional part: that's indeed what I said. Nintendo need to show the rest how much more interesting gaming can become when using the Gamepad to its full potential. -

That there is what makes the difference: developers on Xbox and PS are taking a risk (however small/big that risk is, we can't be sure) when they develop a game for those platforms that totally depends on second screen (so no, not companion apps and the like). With Wii U they don't take that risk, because the second screen comes bundled in. It's in fact the same risk with developing games for Motion Plus (Red Steel 2/ Fling Smash), Kinect and all other peripherals. When you don't add it in with every console, developers will see it as a device for optional gameplay. And when they do take that risk, high sales are VERY difficult to obtain. That is exactly the reason why Nintendo needs to show the other developers AND the public what you can do with it. Otherwise the added gamepad will have almost no worth at all. I think Nintendo can still show what's unique about it but I also think that Wii U will never attract more "core" gamers who are generally more attracted to Xbox and Playstation and the games that are typically identified with those two. By the way, I like Nintendo for that; they offer something else, next to the other two. -
Why is that so, that the Nordics can't join Club Nintendo? What's the difference with, let's say, The Netherlands where I come from? Something to do with retailer protection or price regulation and Nordic laws?

Hmmmm, everywhere around the web, the name "Shard of Nightmare" seems to appear. Gaming-sites mindlessly copying each other and not more than a rumour or could this be the real title? Anyway, the name gives of a nice Majora vibe to me E3 can't come soon enough! : -

Have you played Metroid Blast in Nintendoland? Make that into a full game with more serious graphics and you have a very core-appealing game with a concept that isn't possible on the same level with PS4/Xone. Cooperation between gamepad players and wiimote players in an online environment would be (pun intended) a BLAST! -
I like your Nintendo twist, but I can't imagine that happening unfortunately Bet it'll be some kind of save game mechanic or customisation settings.
-
Ah, I figured that was just artwork...!
-
Figures? Where did you see those????

To start with two figurines: Baby Rosalina and Pink Gold Peach!! Nah, kidding, just inspired by the latest The Final Bosman :P http://www.gametrailers.com/videos/s0kkry/the-final-bosman-buzz-lightyear-s-stupid-switch
