  1. Thanks! How does it play? Like a realistic driving sim or more arcade style?
  2. Hey guys, we're getting a PS4 at the office and we want to connect it to our Playseat. Before there was a PS3 connected to it. So, two questions: 1. what do you guys think is the best current racegame available for the machine and why do you think that? 2. if the Playseat could be connected to a PS3 there should be no reason it can't be connected to the PS4, right? Thanks in advance!
  3. Yep, I'll try that too! Thanks for the suggestions guys, feels like I'm missing something obvious though... So, just came home, booted the game up, went into the amiibo hut and now it works totally fine...
  4. In the amiibo hut I made sure to register all my recent amiibo in the general amiibo settings before booting up the game so my NFC reader is not the problem. After playing world 1-1 I went in the amiibo hut and started scanning. After the mentioned eight amiibo it just doesn't do anything anymore But I'll check tonight after work if I can still use the reader for other games like Smash, Kart, Splatoon or the amiibo Tap games...
  5. does nothing anymore after scanning Mario, Kirby, Peach, Marth, Villager, Fox, Donkey and Link. Tried Zelda, Samus, Luigi, Bowser but nothing happens anymore...
  6. You should keep that to yourself @Serebii, people might use it to silence you in some discussions
  7. So I just got the game and tried to scan my amiibo in the amiibo hut but couldn't add more than 9 patterns. Is that a bug or has it something to do with completing (a part of) the game?
  8. Nintendo, please offer @Sprout a job as head of creativity!
  9. Yes, they can, There's no difference in the technology between different regions. If you want you can also use the Japanese version for example.
  10. And both sides are bad in my opinion. If a select group, be it the overly defensive or the overly offensive make members wanna leave then it needs to be addressed at both. That's why I think singling one side out as "worse than the other" has no effect. You need to address the style of discussing, not the side someone's on.
  11. I'm sorry but that console is in another castle!
  12. Ronnie, I share your passion for Nintendo most of the time so I think I kinda agree with that part BUT (and this is not an attack, but maybe some advice which could help you offend less people here) I think it would work out better for you and your relationship with fellow forumers when you change that sentence into: "I lash out because I find a lot of AAA gaming boring these days and it makes me sad that it only seems to be Nintendo and indie developers who can offer the kind of different, innovative experiences that I like." I also removed f-ing because to me it feels a little like bait. I really hope this doesn't sound patronising because I want to help you out. You are one of the guys who still loves Nintendo a lot and can potentially bring a lot more positivity when you choose your words a little milder. PS: I'm not trying to single you out, this is just one example and I'm not perfect too of course...: peace:
  13. I see what you mean and you're right. Saying "Shit, I totally forgot about that" is nothing to fuss about, while "man, you really talk shit you know!?" is something I would personally find very misplaced in a debate. But you're right, changing tone should be something that members have to do themselves, not something the moderators should have to do.
  14. I'm somebody who likes to exchange opinions and some level of debate is also totally fine. What I really dislike is debates that get so overheated that people feel the need to offend others, or use bad language. Why in the world would you feel the need to do that? If you feel so heated in a debate, just get away from you keyboard and get some fresh air, smell a flower or anything that makes you calm again. Or use the ignore function if you really have no self control or had a little too much of that gamma radiation. Basically: offending people and using bad language is NEVER effective (Pokemon pun not intended). I really think that if we all agree on not using offensive or bad language that would change a lot overhere. If we are not able to be a little more polite and less harsh in our language, we could alway cut every game thread into three variations: "Kid Icarus - positive thoughts thread", "Kid Icarus - negative thoughts thread" and "Kid Icarus - debate thread". I really hope we are mature enough to not need something childish like that : peace:
  15. Hopefully it'll also encourage Nintendo to further embrace online multiplayer. I always had a feeling this game is Nintendo testing the water with their install base.
  16. The Skylanders look more like action figures actually whereas the amiibo (up until now, mind you) indeed look more like still figurines. That obviously says nothing about quality, just a matter of preference. If I was still a kid, I'd maybe prefer the Skylanders versions of Bowser and DK, they just don't represent the style we grew up with. Just like eigthies versions of Carebears, Ninja Turtles, Transformers and My Little Pony VS their new style. Graphic style needs to evolve to stay relevant for younger generations. We are just getting old and less relevant ourselves
  17. I do think that Nintendo will only survive on its own if it changes drastically. Merging with a bigger company (like Disney) would allow them to stay the way they are. What would you prefer? 1. Nintendo changing into something more gamers want (and losing some of what makes them what they are now) 2. Continuing the way they are now but being under the wings of a company like Disney? Highly speculative of course, but what if you HAD to choose? I prefer the latter but the first could also bring new things to the table. Both are better than what happens now to Nintendo...
  18. Imagine Disney putting Nintendo in charge of their full videogame branch Marvel, Disney, Star Wars and Nintendo IP would work really good together. It would also give Disney more presence/understanding of the Japanese market and Nintendo more presence/understanding of the Western market. East meets West, could make both brands so much stronger and more diverse...
  19. I think it's like Magic the Gathering: you can play it if you want but without cards, you actually can't play the game. If the concept is good enough, it might be worth getting into. But as of now, I don't understand the concept...
  20. Maybe them talking about transformation is a hint that they want to become something more than a games company. Especially considering the Universal deal, the craving/hype for amiibo, the Pikmin short movies... Maybe they are trying to find new markets for their IP because they struggle with modern videogame taste and needs. They never made a secret about their preferences: bright, colourful, family friendly, all about gameplay, fun, blue ocean. In a way it all adds up to me and I think Nintendo feels they need to build on their beloved IP and turn it into more than videogames. Movies, boardgames, amusement parks, tv series, opera's, musicals, comic books, other merchandise. Much like Disney and Marvel. Just look at Cars, Frozen, Monsters Inc.... Those are HUGE! I would be happier with Nintendo getting bought by Disney than them becoming third party.
  21. I guess it's because a large 3D adventure makes it easier for a lot of people to feel really immersed within the gameworld. It's easier to imagine yourself being in a world when the graphics become more "realistic". Of course some people are easier immersed than others. (text based adventures/RPG's also still exist )
  22. Kav, I think you have some valid points, but calling things shit or retarded is why people get over defensive. Works the other way around also by the way, so sorry to pick you out this time. I was very toxic after I saw the E3 so decided to make two posts about it and then get away from the forum for awhile. Everybody can have their opinion and nobody should be attacked for having one, but your style in posting/communicating with others is a choice. I think this forum would brighten up a lot if people would: 1. Attack and defend eachtother less 2. Stop using terms that are insulting 3. Let opinions that you can't understand just go (or politely ask for deeper thoughts if you are interested) Again, this is nothing personal, it's something I see a lot the last few years from a lot of members. And I'm obviously not a mod so maybe shouldn't act like one
  23. And you can download & install that OS onto your PS4, Xb1, PC, smartphones and tablets which will turn your device into a platform playing Nintendo games. No need for hardware, just a digitally distributed platform-independent OS and digital games.
  24. That does look interesting!
  25. What's with all the comparisons with Sony and Microsoft? It's like saying you can't be hungry because people in Africa have less to eat. I just look at Nintendo's show and I feel really empty handed, especially when looking at Wii U for 2016. The show had a lot of charm when it comes to style and presentation but there should've at least be one surprising jawdropping megaton announcement. Instead it felt like fillers, small releases, far too much repeating of things we know about for (over) a year (Yoshi, Mario Maker, Starfox)... I know there will be more games, but I need to see them, have them announced to have something to look out for. Haven't felt so unhyped about Nintendo home console gaming in a very long time... Sure, the current library has a lot of superb games but that's all in the past; hype comes from stuff you can look forward to.
