That was my interpretation of it too

Thing is, with a show like Doctor Who, is that it needs to change a lot else it'll just stagnate and be back to generic Monster of the Week, run run, Doctor babbles, run run, save the day. Not every change will be to everyone's liking, but it has to stay fresh, especially as it's coming up on its 50th anniversary. I agree that some episodes haven't felt like they've had the charm of past instances, but I'm still enjoying it, albeit not as much as past series, although this ep sure brought it up there. It was a fantastic episode and showed exactly how Doctor Who is ever changing.

This episode really seems to be a marmite episode. I guess if you watch the show solely for action and monsters then you would be disappointed, but I personally think it was a fantastic bit of drama with great comedic bits in...The Doctor and Bill Nighy talking about Bow Ties, come on...if you didn't crack a smile, you have no soul. :p This is the brilliance about Doctor Who. It can organically be a funny lighthearted episode one week, a completely serious action one the next and then an emotional one the next (This is not saying The Hungry Earth was a fun lighthearted episode) without breaking the whole show. It is a shame that they used Bill Nighy though. The man is a legend in his own right and should have been the next Doctor.

Not really, don't see how it went weird. However, that was a fantastic episode.

I hope so too. I'm likely to get overloaded with work on Friday and all of next weekend

Yep, at the same point we do each and every month

Actually, Nintendo does it the day of CoroCoro release, sometimes the day before. However, we get leaks of CoroCoro early so we wait for that. Plus, if I recall correctly, Nintendo has a share in CoroCoro
-
The next CoroCoro is due on the 15th
-
No, we wont. Pokémon Sunday is not going to have anything Black & White related tomorrow
-
Can pretty much guarantee PokéPark Wii will get its US date at E3 Pretty sure Black & White will be a noshow
-
I'm not so sure... It may be the thing that unlocks Zorua in Black & White. Why else would they release a Scizor of all things
-
Almost all of which was media incited.
-
Sweet, got an email from game saying they'll be processing everything early

It reminds me of an interview with an American on one of the news channels, can't remember which, back at the times of the tsunamis in 2004. The american getting interviewed stated that the tsunami was a disaster so bad it was second only to 9/11. Not to disrespect the memory of the innocents lost at 9/11, but you have about 3,000 casualties there compared with the 230,000 casualties with the tsunami...and people agreed with him. The media lost all credibility to me at that point.

The official site has today updated informing us of a new WiFi event. This event is to tie in with the new movie and features a Scizor that represents the Scizor of the main antagonist of the film. This Scizor is Level 50 and is in a Cherish Ball. It has the Swarm ability, holds a Starf Berry, and the attacks; X-Scissor, Swords Dance, Iron Defence and Agility. It will be given over WiFi on all current DS games in Japan from June 18th 2010 to July 14th 2010

It was the MA Multimedia Journalism here at Bournemouth
-
True, I really wish they had given me the reason. It could have been that they just thought I was a blogger trying to get into a different field. Originally, I had applied for the BA in Multimedia Journalism, but based upon my experience in the field already, they suggested and referred my application to the people running the Masters.
-
Conjecture. Why else wouldn't they want me? I am a multimedia journalist already. I've got loads of articles under my belt and a website that requires me to research and report on news continually. This was just to make me get a better job in the future and to take another step in the Joe grand plan of making my name into an eyechart.
-
I didn't go off on one like earlier, but I did say, and I paraphrase, that I felt that the media is in a position to do good, but as of late tends to have a negative slant that can mislead people.
-
The person who interviewed me for my MA apparently didn't agree. :P

Yeah, and it's wrong for that. I maintain that almost all of the problems in the last decade have been made worse by the media. The credit crisis...Was just at top level bank people at first, media got hold of it, people stopped spending and the whole country went into a depression. The whole terror issue. The fact that the media has scared the whole population has meant they have one. Terrorists aren't there to kill you persay, their sole intent is to scare you into a change in your way of life, and in that regard, they have succeeded with help from the media. Climate change is another. Yes there's an issue here if you manage to find a scientist not paid off by the government, but the media paints it as a "We'll all die in X years if Y doesn't happen". Cancer risk things too. Every week the media reports on something new causing cancer. One ridiculous thing I saw a few months back is cooking meat with a grill causes it. It scares the public needlessly. It's disgusting how the whole information age is abused by bias, fear mongering and general misinformation. What's worse is that the general population are so mentally delinquent that they buy into it all. I know you're interested into getting into the media, as I am, but still, you cannot deny that they abuse their power so much. They put a negative spin on everything and make people generally depressed and scared.

Completed it, was alright, fairly laggy though but I'll still get the others when they're available, see how it plays out. Always good to hear the soundtracks tied with a game though, especially the Dalek one

You know, it already bugs me how everyone pronounces Van Gogh in the previews for next week's episode. It's pandering to the common mispronounciation. Although, it doesn't get as bad as them calling him Van-GO, but the g isn't a hard g

I read that they're going to have all of them free because it was funded by License Fee money and so they're giving it to us for free as it's already been paid for

Aha, I should use that line.
