  1. I wasn't, but that's because I was too busy posting all the Pokémon stuff they threw at me at the start of it :p But when I saw it, I was excited I still want an eShop Captain Toad game. Reveal it in this month's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo...please
  2. I'm fairly certain they're going to show loads at E3
  3. Pic of the day. Samus and Zero Suit Samus!! How will she match up with her new jet boots?
  4. It does. I maintain that there's a reason that F-Zero, Metroid and Advance Wars were the games that lead the charge for the GBA VC, and the second GBA F-Zero is on its way. Getting them back into public consciousness.
  5. The thing is, they did sort of have one at E3 last year for the press that were there. It wasn't huge but it was done. People act like Nintendo had no presence at E3 whatsoever, which is ridiculous. That was due to the western media misrepresenting Nintendo's actions with clickbait headlines such as "Nintendo not at E3". Things like that are why the Nintendo Direct concept was created in the first place. Most companies just use PRs to give information but the western media either ignored the smaller Nintendo games or mistranslated/interpreted various things, so Nintendo made the Directs to give information directly to the consumer. For the press etc. there, then yes they should do it. For us? Hell no. It wastes my time with awkward pauses for the American need to applaud everything, the relentless need to fill in with buzzwords and horrific live demos that either go wrong or freeze. For people at home, it's just pointless when we can get the same information given to us in a speedier manner through the Direct. Really, they should do both just to placate those who think they have to have a huge ridiculous conference just to save face, but Nintendo Directs are one of the best things to happen to gaming in the past two years. They should never get rid of them. Hell, the fact there are always so many reaction videos to things in the Direct proves that people get the same reaction from that as they would from a conference.
  6. The substitute is so huggable :p
  7. Indeed. If Nintendo had revealed that line-up any other year, people would be praising them. It's just because it was a Direct rather than a conference, which is practically the same thing from the perspective of people at home, just a Direct lacks awkward pauses for applause and live demos going wrong.
  8. I honestly don't see the Balloon Fight character in it. Villager's recovery special takes the entire concept of it and uses it.
  9. We know they started it in 2012 and that Wind Waker HD was a result of them testing things. 2015 is very likely. Don't forget that they had it to a point last year that they were willing to show it at E3, then at Comic-Con, but decided E3 was too packed already and that Comic-Con was not the right place. It's guaranteed for E3 this year We didn't get Japanese or US date either. Just "Available in 2014."
  10. Seriously? Jesus Christ...what is with the sudden Pokémon hate?
  11. Eh? We got news of it in the last Direct...
  12. With that logic, do you count all Mario items as characters? All Zelda? All Metroid? That's all PokéBall Pokémon are...extensions of an item.
  13. Not entirely true. In Brawl there were icons used for levels and so forth that weren't necessarily represented by playable characters. Animal Crossing, for example
  14. They have iconic third parties that have had ties to Nintendo in one form or another. Let me explain again about Pokémon Pokémon as a trademark and franchise is owned by Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures Inc. Nintendo own Creatures Inc. (though operate it independently) and have a stake in Game Freak. For all intents and purposes, it's a Nintendo franchise. I never say it's not Nintendo. What I say is that Nintendo doesn't decide what games are made. Game Freak is left autonomous with regards to the Pokémon franchise. The Pokémon Company is a venture set forth by Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and Game Freak and deals with licensing as well as greenlighting of software. The process has actually been shown with the board reviewing game proposals and how to better improve them. While it's a Nintendo owned franchise, Nintendo don't decide what games are to be made for them. They relinquished those decisions to the company. Just like they let Retro decide what game to work on next, and they decided on Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze over Metroid or a new IP. Also, the Pokémon, Zelda and Mario franchises get more characters in this series because they are more popular. They're the bigger franchises. Far bigger than Metroid, F-Zero and Fire Emblem.
  15. Nothing beats Dark Samus :p
  16. Pseudo-Palutena too
  17. I stand by my statement :p
  18. At first glimpse, he looked grey and we saw his hands, which looked like Mewtwo hands. One he started generating, you could see it was a Water Shuriken. Sakurai knew damn well what he was doing. He's an evil man :p
  19. On GAF yesterday, I did a list of what all EAD Studios are doing and almost all of them have been silent since their last releases. Something is coming. We'll have stuff at E3 for this year I do agree that it should have been the other way round though.
  20. Ah, but conversely. If Mario Kart & Smash Bros are both heavy hitters in the summer, then what would Nintendo have for the massive holiday period?
  21. I have to assume you're attempting to troll me. Perhaps I was too hasty in removing you from my ignore list.
  22. Why don't they add GTA characters? Hmm, I don't know, how about because Nintendo owns the bloody Pokémon franchise and not GTA. Pokémon is a big part of Nintendo. Hell, Pokémon is what kept Nintendo alive in the late 90s. Stop downplaying its position in Nintendo-dom
  23. Pokémon is likely to take over Mario as the top selling video game franchise of all time within the next 3 or so years. Pokémon is huge. It is not just another franchise.
  24. Technically 6 since Pokémon Trainer was three characters in one. I reckon it should match Mario's spread of 5 (Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Rosalina). Roll on Mewtwo.
  25. That's a bit silly. PokéBalls have always been in Smash Bros.
