The patch is live @Hero\-of\-Time Oh god...the Toad moves

Not just small outlets, big ones including CNN. Reggie said in the damn conference that the GamePad was the controller for their brand new system. I'm not saying Nintendo didn't mess up here. I'm just saying that the media and people spreading BS is a large part of what happened. Mistranslations and constant Nintendo bashing articles are why they made Nintendo Directs, and this crap is happening all over again even when they revealed the NX to make it clear they're not abandoning hardware (Iwata even said that in the conference), and yet despite it being clear, some people are saying otherwise.

My money is on SPD and NST doing the work on these games on their off-time, with EAD still doing their magic on 3DS/Wii U/NX -
Nintendo & DeNA Business Agreement - Nintendo on Smartphones

Not true. Nintendo is doing most of the development. DeNA provides the backend and is doing the account system for Wii U/3DS/NX/whateverelsecomesinthefuture/smartphone games -
Nintendo & DeNA Business Agreement - Nintendo on Smartphones

It won't be. Mobile is an incredibly hard market to do well in, even for Nintendo. Considering they're not going to do the exploitative monetisation strategies that exist, but rather just light payments if any, they're not going to make a craptonne of cash. -

To do that, they'd have to earn revenue equivalent to 20% of the total current smartphone gaming revenue. Yeah it's expanding and will likely double next year and so forth, but it's a ridiculous amount of marketshare they'd have to have to reach amounts that rival what they earned last year (a bad year) before it's even worth considering. I, too, hate this, but let's not take things to extremes. -

Different experiences on smartphones and handhelds. That's how it's going to survive. Will it be as big as the DS and original GameBoy was? No, but there will be a market for it, just like there's still a market for dedicated cameras, dedicated laptops etc. despite the dominance of smartphones with cameras and tablets. -
There's so much of this going around. People saying in articles that it's evidence Nintendo has "given up" with the Wii U, despite the fact this machine is over 2 years out. It reminds me as to why Nintendo made Nintendo Directs, so they can pump news out to the fans directly and stop this media bullshit. With all the misinformation that has been spread, it reminds me of the Wii U situation (yes, Nintendo messed up a bit with that, but let me finish). Nintendo said ahead of E3 2011 that they were going to reveal their new console there. In the E3 presentation itself, Reggie said it's the controller for their new system, yet much of the media went off saying how it was a peripheral, spreading crap that wasn't true. It's happening yet again with how much of the media is reporting the smartphone news and NX. It's disgusting, it actually seems like the media is out to kick Nintendo down all the time. They choose not to read, and they assume. I've seen it happen across the net with people too, thinking the NX is a phone, or the account system. It's ridiculous.

Style Savvy 3 has amiibo support http://www.nintendo.co.jp/3ds/ecdj/amiibo/index.html Mario, Peach, Yoshi and Kirby unlock special outfits. Others give you other regular special items.
-
To be fair, it's more that Mario was being placed as a last resort if they couldn't find a decent character, not that Mario almost took over.

Not yet. Seems it'll come Friday

Absurd hypotheticals and worst case scenarios. Nintendo's home console and handheld games will be different to their smartphone titles. That will be their answer when people ask that. Plus their policy of not porting their handheld/console games to smartphones. -
Iwata spoke about that. He said they thought about it, but decided to go on one set price else it'd seem like they're valuing one more than another

http://time.com/3748920/nintendo-mobile-games/?xid=tcoshare So it's like Iwata had been saying the past 2 years. They're doing this for exposure, not to get the best profit margin -
They do
-
That would be a mistake. It'd be really cutting their revenue streams like crazy. However, with them sharing architectures, then that means that they're not really doing it for two platforms. They don't have to port engines, they already work. They don't have to do much. This way, they have portable and home console, they can easily develop between the two. Crossplatform games like Mario VS Donkey Kong will exist more. It'd be perfect. Ypu have the best of both worlds

Is Nintendo-Only gaming Damaging Your Hobby
Serebii replied to Falcon_BlizZACK's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It was dropping last gen. Nintendo had all but abandoned the Wii. 360 and PS3 games were getting a bit samey for me. 3DS and Wii U revitalised it all for me. -
I'd say next week But yeah, expecting Splatoon release date and amiibo details, Smash DLC details, amiibo waves, Pokémon Rumble World and probably a few other things.
-
And Hyrule Warriors technically :p

Nope not played that. Doesn't seem enticing to me. -
I'm in agreement with @kav82 here. Mario Kart with an Adventure Mode just wouldn't sit right. It doesn't fit the game. Mission Modes should absolutely come back though

My Toad amiibo arrived

Could you please drop the elitist/snobbish attitude? Just try to consider that people have differing views to you. They don't need to agree with you, so accept that. -
Oh. Well you're screwed then :p
