Actually the 18+ restriction on the eShop was due to German law that, for some inexplicable reason (I think due to everything being processed and run out of Frankfurt) was enforced to the entire continent. It wasn't due to them trying to protect the kids.

Just because a video is 1080p doesn't mean the game is. Just have to ask Xbox One developers for proof of that.

Don't you think that not buying the game due to lack of voice chat is a bit of an over-reaction?

Could it be that Nintendo don't really have the architecture to run attempted flawless online (rather than continual extrapolation) as well as voice chat? Maybe the DeNA account system will help

This game does truly looks amazing. Lack of voice chat is very disappointing but not a deal breaker for me. I really want to play it, it looks like such fun

Yeah, let's just fault Nintendo, let's not fault the journalists who weren't doing their job as well. Again, I'm not saying Nintendo are faultless, I'm just saying that journalists should have actually done their job, seen the materials sent before E3, LISTENED to the damn presentation they were covering and so forth.

Yes you can blame the journalists. Ahead of time, all journalists got a heads up that Nintendo were revealing their new system that E3, and as @Happenstance said, the term "new system" was said multiple times within it. General public, sure, misconception was possible due to how much they focused on the pad, but the media hell no.
