I very much doubt they will. Their focus is on the future. It's a bit illogical to assume that they're going to focus on Virtual Console as a main part of the console.

Just because it didn't work this time doesn't mean they shouldn't continue trying to release something big and new. To be fair, nobody is saying otherwise. All we're saying is that the Wii U is almost there as the "Nintendo Box" and that NX is likely to be due to statements from Iwata, and they can use that as A marketing point. Nobody is suggesting that it should be the focus.

Yeah but they aren't Nintendo developed titles so therefore the statement that Nintendo puts the gameplay first is still valid. :p

But having to design and work around a very unfamiliar architecture to them is another constraint that would screw them over.

I'd say chances are very high that NX Handheld will still have a two screen format. Hopefully with identical aspect ratios this time. As such, it is possible that if it did do Wii U games, it could have the GamePad stuff on the bottom screen and gameplay on top screen

I dislike that people are flooding the ballot with third party characters and campaigning for them. There's a huge wealth of Nintendo characters that are viable before we should dredge up third parties. Third party characters should be something special. Sonic, Mega Man and Pac-man fit the style and fit because they are iconic gaming characters. Rayman, Shantae and Banjo are not, Goku certainly isn't.
