Because McDonalds invented figurines?

Dear god, we agree on something. The world is doomed :p

Time for @ReZourceman to go crazy :p

If you looked at Nintendo's releases, no that's not what it is now. Now we have small titles like Pushmo, Kirby titles, new IPs etc. And no, name me a big third party developer other than Rockstar who only make big game every 3 to 4 years.
-
Seriously, I don't get why people can't see it. They think Nintendo going third party would just be Nintendo first party on other platforms, when it's far from the case. They'd have no extra revenue streams from their own hardware or from third party licensing on their hardware so they'd have to take less risks. Smaller games do not sell so would not be worth it. They would become what people erroneously claim they are now, just a Mario developer.
-
If Nintendo did go third party, say goodbye to Splatoon, Fire Emblem, Dillon's Rolling Western, F-Zero, Metroid etc. and say hello to annual Mario and Zelda. Yeah, going third party would be horrific

Sort of taking it to extremes are you not?

Valid point. I didn't consider that

Just topped up my game to the max amount, got the mine and the VIP cards. First VIP card will let you reinflate any balloon at any time for 1 PokéDiamond as opposed to the up to 4 PokéDiamonds. It costs 40 PokéDiamonds. Second VIP Card is 20 PokéDiamonds and lets you use Time Stop for 1 PokéDiamond rather than 2. This is clearly to help you get through the game once you hit the ceiling. Overall, £20 spent. Can't spend anymore. That's about what I'd spend if it was a digital download title akin to Rumble U or the original

Good. They should give a week for UK people to put in preorders, then open it up to the rest

Nintendo's Plans for DLC and Microtransactions Point to Changed Priorities
Serebii replied to Wii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Think of it like this. Amiibo are giving Nintendo a new revenue stream. Using this, they will get more money and tied with mobile and QoL, will help Nintendo compete in the home console race again. -
http://www.serebii.net/rumbleworld I'll get to it when my plate isn't so filled

This game continues to sound awesome

Nintendo's Plans for DLC and Microtransactions Point to Changed Priorities
Serebii replied to Wii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah, as I said, it's tricky. What I wish they would do is something that's either only possible with amiibo, like the Smash or Mario Party support, or something that's completely ridiculous and wouldn't be done outside of it, like Mario Kart 8 -
Nintendo's Plans for DLC and Microtransactions Point to Changed Priorities
Serebii replied to Wii's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I both agree and disagree with it. Nintendo are doing DLC right. You just have to look at Mario Golf, MK8 and Hyrule Warriors for that, among others. Yeah, the costumes are a bit off, but that's fine. You don't need them. Characters I'm fine with being ~£3, too. A lot of work goes into them to balance, a lot more than people anticipate, and so forth so it's good for them to be paid for their work. amiibo is a bit trickier. If you only get them for one game, then yeah it's expensive "on-disc DLC", and that does suck. However, the fantastic thing about amiibo is that these figures work across many Nintendo titles. Practically every amiibo is usable in more titles than just Super Smash Bros., and I hope the same is true with Splatoon amiibo. There's something in a game coming soon that makes use of practically every amiibo, too. When you spread it around all the games that support it, if you're a Nintendo fan who buys most of their games, you get great value for money. If they work in just one game, though, it is a kick in the teeth. That said, almost all the amiibo features are cute little extras or features that don't really impact the game much. Though Splatoon amiibo are said to hide 45 challenges, it seems they're just bastardisations of existing ones. Plus, as @dazzybee said, you have two sides to this coin. People complain amiibo don't do enough to warrant the cost, but when it does, as with Splatoon and Codename STEAM, people complain they've locked out content. The F2P stuff is where it gets a bit weird, but that's because F2P is a horrific practice. That said, I think Nintendo is getting it right...mostly. Their games are fully playable for free. It's not pay to win, and that's good. I know many who have 100%'d Pokémon Shuffle without spending a single penny. Steel Diver is free to start, but you can pay to get the rest of the game. Rusty's Real Deal Baseball has you able to haggle prices down for each mini-game and Pokémon Rumble World limits you so you cannot spend more than £26 ever. Once you hit that, you can no longer spend money on it, but like Shuffle is playable and completeable on its own. Now, I'm not a fan of free to play, but what they've done with Pokémon Rumble World, and a lesser extent Shuffle, has given me hope that they're not here to fleece us. -
It's called GAME tax :p I've got my 3 from the next two waves pre-ordered on ShopTo, with their increase in price, gleefully awaiting the NUK Store to add the rest
-
Can't believe they stopped international shipping. The anger of Americans is high haha
-
This one's actually not that bad. 1750 PokéDiamonds for £13. Should get you through the game

You know you want to :p

Local multiplayer LAN is not local multiplayer.

It was talked about but it was never shown before the Direct.

This is going around Rather amusing

To be fair, some are sold out :p http://store.nintendo.co.uk/games/wii-u/splatoon/splatoon-squid-bundles.list

As @Hero\-of\-Time and I have said, it doesn't help that they delayed the US waves for them to get more stock. Now it's just US people getting orders in on ours. That's why ShopTo is being hammered
