    You mean the quadratic equation formula? Actually, you do fun things with them in further pure 1, with complex roots and the fundamental theorem of algebra.

    Haruhi is pretty damn funny, but not mind blowingly awesome in my opinion. And I was talking about the Akira anime. I've read the first 4 volumes of the manga, which are still as brilliant as they always were. They also make far more sense than the anime.

    I think the general consenus is that although Akira was groudbreaking and is thus legendary, over time it has become terribly dated and there's now much better stuff out there.

    I did further Pure 1 today, and with further pure 2 last Wednesday I have finished (providing I don't need to retake) my A level in further mathematics. That has to be fairly geeky. Mind you, the first question in FP1 could have been in C1... "Is x = 2 the only solution of x^2 = 2?" Do tell!
