The Rio Carbon is a great player. 18 hours battery life and very good sound quality (if you use decent earphones) The controls and ui are very easy to use. Its great to be able to control the volume of the player while its in your pocket without having to look at the player. I would stay away from the Sony players, mainly because the software youll need to use to put the music on the players is awful. Talk Talk's broadband service is very very bad, AOL seems great compared to them. I have heard things such as extreme throttling where you only get decent download speeds between 12 midnight and 7am, very unstable connections and very anti anything but surfing and emailing. To top this if you want to get out you have to pay £70 to get out of their 18 month contracts. These problems existed before they started the free broadband, so if there are several thousand more users on their broadband service the quality can only get worse.

dabookerman have you tried utorrent? you can enable protocol encryption with it, and people on other forums have reported that it has helped them avoid speed caps during peak times with similar ISPs.
