  1. But the platonic love you have with friends and family isn't the kind of love we're debating about, here.

Love is the messy, ignorant swimming pool we occasionaly dive blindly into. Love is the struggle to hold your breath while swimming as far as possible. Love is reaising you're swimming in a circle, but that's ok.

Love is finding something that suddenly makes all the worst bits in your life seem ok, and all the best bits seem average. Love is a cancer that can destroy your relationship with the rest of the world, yet love is addictive and wonderful. Love is something I'm hugely scared of. Love is no excuse, yet unavoidably distracting.

Romantic love is barely scraping the surface of what love is -- the inexplainable communication between two people that transcends words and metaphor. Love is true understanding; trust and faith. Love is acceptance and acknowledgement...

But love is also experience. Innocence only goes so far. Love is awareness and thoughtfulness.

I still like to think that I have experienced love in the romantic, nostalgic sense -- but I still tend to believe that I was a misguided fool -- that all I have mentioned above is largely impossible to achieve for long periods of time. Love is a belief system created by those who believe we are somehow more than animals. I'm not so sure.

But I'm ever so willing to be convinced otherwise!

    Bravo, sir. :)

Platonic love, romantic love - all forms of love stem from the same basic (and yet so complex) emotion. They are (extremely) varying degrees of the same phenomenon.

  2. (you kinda did by proxy. love is the meaning of life. thus love is everything in life to strive for. if you're not in love, which i am taking, perhaps at liberty, as if you're not in relationship, you lack life)

But nah mostly it just reminded me of that mindframe some people have. I'm bored, I need an outlet :p

You're twisting my words. :) Love isn't necessarily romantic - the platonic love is just as important. Think about it - people without friends or family - they don't have very nice lives. They may try to fill the gap with work or doing something they like, but I truly believe they lack something in life.

  3. You're nobody til somebody loves you (or however the song goes).

Annoys me. I am somebody thanks. Not saying somebody loving you is a bad thing obviously but its an addition to your character, not the definition.

I don't see love as the meaning of life, but meerly part of it.

I never said anything about the first statement.

Of course life holds many different things, but love is such an important force.

  4. It's political, but it's also rather amusing, with the original cast.

    Amazing!

I don't know if she has been posted in here already, but if so she certainly deserves a re-post. She's a Korean electric violin player - and a damn good one at that! She's got loads of videos, but here are a few of my personal favourites:

Vangelis - 1492: Conquest of Paradise

Nino Rota - Speak Softly Love (The Godfather Theme)

Hans Zimmer - Up is Down (Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End)

Paul Mauriat - Love is Blue

  5. hmm.

Personally, I'm going to enjoy it more if it's closer to an illusion of mutual pleasure. I know it's all fake an so on but it's more of a turn on if it at least looks and (almost more importantly) sounds like those involved, particularly the women, are having a good time. Some poor lass looking like she's about to cry and vomit were it not for the pain killers isn't exactly my idea of a turn on.

I agree completely with you on this. Though I understand the psychological aspects of the highlighted part, it just doesn't work for me. Playful submission and dominating I can relate to, but some things are just ... :shakehead

  6. seen a photo of it being taken too far. the action shot is fantastic. i thought nothing had less dignity then an erect penis, then i saw one being engulfed by puke.

house mate was not happy with new background.

*shudder* :shakehead I just don't get it.

  7. I once won a drawing contest for coming up with a funny pun. Sounds a little weird, but it went like this: The paint company Lady held a drawing contest where you were supposed to draw "a real lady". So, I drew a paint bucket with a woman's face on it. I won 500 kr., roughly equal to £50 or $100.
