  1. You want Oblivion. :) If you have a 360 or PS3, buy that game. It's a great game, awesome game, a masterpiece really. But it's not Zelda. And I don't think Zelda should be like Oblivion. Maybe the overworld could be like it (Zelda's world is made of plastic next to Cyrodiil), but not the game itself.

I think it was more a mocking of us making wish lists which, in his eyes apparently, seemed unrealistic.

  2. Imo, The difference is that it's harder to hit a moving target. The Lithuanian man stayed within the same City, and the net quickly closed in on him. In Maddie's case, the kidnappers were already on the move before the news even broke. By the time the appeal had started, they could have literally been anywhere.

I think Stuwii was just pointing out that "millions of people can spot this guy, but they can't spot what a little girl looks like." To me, many kids her age look very similar to her. What if the kidnapper had dyed her hair to disguise her appearance? Many things could have happened. Plus, it's not just limited to one location (Lithuania in that other guy's case). So, you're looking for a young girl who could be anywhere in the world. Not easy at all.

Dude, you're arguing the same point as me. :p

  3. Here is a list of Christmas Number Ones dating back 10 years. Yes, I'm going all Dante on yo ass, with the copying and the pasting.

1999 Westlife "I Have A Dream" / "Seasons in the Sun"

2000 Bob The Builder "Can We Fix It?"

2001 Robbie Williams & Nicole Kidman "Somethin' Stupid"

2002 Girls Aloud "Sound of the Underground"

2003 Michael Andrews & Gary Jules "Mad World"

2004 Band Aid 20 "Do They Know It's Christmas?"

2005 Shayne Ward "That's My Goal"

2006 Leona Lewis "A Moment Like This"

2007 Leon Jackson "When You Believe"

    2008 Alexandra Burke "Hallelujah"

How many covers? How many of these are actually Christmas songs?

If anyone believes that Rage against the Machine do not deserve to get to Christmas Number 1 because it "isn't a Christmas song", then where have you been for the last 10 years? You're kidding yourselves. :heh:

Having Rage as a Christmas Number One is just as deserving as these past choices. From 2005 to 2009, the winner has been an X-Factor Winner. It's almost a monopoly. I think many believe that having Rage as a competitor is a "stand" towards this.

2000 Bob The Builder "Can We Fix It?"
2000 Bob The Builder "Can We Fix It?"
2000 Bob The Builder "Can We Fix It?"

    W ... T ... F ...

  4. I think he means actually looking for the girl herself, and not the kidnappers. So, "it's amazing that they can spot the person from that video, but not find Maddie."

Yeah, but same difference, ne? The point being the huge difference in solid leads to go by.

Millions of people looking for one girl and finding nothing is odd. How on gods name did they find dog killer anyway

    *sigh*

  5. It was more the irony that a few thousand people can track a dog killer but million can't find a girl....sad

*sigh* You still don't get it. Look, it isn't ironic when the circumstances are that different. The kidnapper left no hard clues. For all we know, the parents did it themselves! Whereas the animal abusers PUT A FRIGGIN' VIDEO ON YOUTUBE!

^ Am I the only one facepalming here?

    Absolutely not ...

  6. I just want a Christmas tree, some decorations and some Christmas lights. Its funny. Not spending Christmas in England makes you appreciate the little things. I dont care about presents, i just want to make it feel a bit like Christmas here, and that will be enough.

I know what you mean. It's funny, when I was little, I loved the presents and didn't understand how people could not find them an important part of Christmas. :p But now, I actually don't find them to be that important. Only in the sense that they're part of the whole Christmas feel, which is what I love the most. Going out and getting a tree, decorating it, visiting our friends like we do each year ... all those traditions that really consolidates the Christmas feel. :D

  7. From what I can gather, I don't think they want to change the fundamental concept of the game (sword-wielding Link exploring a large world, going into dungeons, defeating bosses), but they want to renew it, maybe make it less linear and predictable. The points someone mentioned about being able to go places before you were supposed to and the world not feeling as linear as it did in TP - I think those are pretty accurate. At least I hope so.

  8. Why do these threads always turn into a guilt trip.

Yes I want a lot of things for christmas, I always want alot of things, pssh! So do thousands of people, they just happen to be different to me! ^_^

I would actually scrap my list to be fair for a christmas thats hassle free like it used to be, without trouble with court/police and just a day where I can sit for an hour eating christmas dinner with mum/dad and sis like it used to be.

Alas I seriously doubt I'll get that one.

Yeah, can't we be greedy bastards without having to feel the guilt? :p

But police? Court? What is all that about? If you don't mind me asking, of course.

  9. Besides, what is actually a necessity here in life? Only food can technically be called a necessity. "Wasting time" and "serving a purpose" are also ambiguous concepts. If I enjoy playing a video game, is it a waste of time? If it helps me relax, does it not serve a purpose? And in the grand scheme of things, what is the purpose of life? We're all going to die, anyway. :heh:

Yeah, it's taking things a little far, but it's just to show your logic isn't completely logical. Of course I understand your point that materialism is taking over and giving us a false sense of happiness that ultimately leaves us unsatisfied and wanting more. And that's obviously a bad thing. But there's a difference between that and enjoying the pleasures of life that we have access to.
